Description

Four years ago, chaos erupted across Earth as the veil between the natural and supernatural tore apart. Magic surged back into the world, revealing ancient creatures that once lurked in the shadows. Werewolves, dragons, and more now fight alongside humans to defend what remains of civilization. The world lies fractured, and Dragon Fleet—a legendary transport unit led by Alpha Acosta—stands on the frontlines of this war-torn reality.

Tasked with securing critical supply routes through hostile territory, the 781st Transportation Pack is no ordinary fleet. Armed with monstrous trucks, bonded dragons, and supernatural resilience, they navigate deadly terrain where no human dares to tread. Commanded by a young but fierce Alpha, they face impossible odds, battling through magic-fueled warfare and deadly ambushes to keep the remnants of humanity alive.

But this fight is more than just survival—it’s a race against time as the Dragon Fleet hauls vital equipment through treacherous routes, knowing that every mile brings them closer to either salvation or destruction.

For Lyra, a werewolf alpha with a wolf pack as her crew and dragons watching her back, the road is a battleground. With danger around every bend, only one thing is certain: if Dragon Fleet falters, so too does the last hope for sanctuary.

This story is an unexpected blend of genres. When you see a mix of werewolves, phoenixes, pixies, and dragons, you anticipate anything but a gritty tale about a trucker gang's adventures in a post-apocalyptic world with sci-fi technology and magic.
    World-Building
The world is incredibly convincing, despite its fantastical foundation. I felt like one of the truck drivers, thanks to the detailed descriptions of their relationships, work nuances, and the reverence they have for their vehicles. This is further enriched by the portrayal of the process of forming a new "pack" of werewolves, whose social and almost familial bonds add depth to the novel.
In my opinion, the world-building is the strongest aspect of this work. The author's extensive planning is evident throughout. At times, it seems the entire plot exists to showcase the multifaceted society and the transformed Earth the author has so meticulously crafted. It's also intriguing to read this novel after having been introduced to the author’s previous work, which details preceding events. This context makes many aspects - events, organizations, technologies - more comprehensible. Crucially, the names occasionally mentioned by the characters in "Dragon Fleet" gain significance, becoming as important to the reader as they are to the characters of this novel.
    Plot and Pacing
The plot unfolds slowly and straightforwardly. All events revolve around the main heroine, the alpha-wolf Lyra, who reluctantly becomes the leader of the pack. The leisurely pace benefits the narrative, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the vast world, get a glimpse of its backstory, and only then start anticipating what lies ahead for Earth and the characters.
    Writing style and grammar
The language is easy to read, with no noticeable grammatical or punctuation errors that would distract from the reading experience.
    Characters
The characters are well-crafted, each with their own backstory, personality, and drama. Their interactions are

Intriguing, very likeable characters, marvellous to have so many different kind of people in the team. Werewolves, dragons and a phoenix to boot. Their way with the trucks is well caught in words and gives a live feeling to the plot. Story is very interesting, the action is entertaining to read and the growing loyalty to the Alpha is a pleasure to follow. This story is very well told, I love the way it is written and how it unfolds.
If you like bad-ass trucks, military mixed with the supernatural and a leading heroine who is trying to lead by example, respects and protects her team rather missuse her status as an (very powerful) alpha, give this marvellous plot a try.
