Down to Earth

Hungerbury was a typical, modern English town until a pivotal day in 2018 when a meteorite crashed in the middle of its communal allotments and deposited a genetically mutated surprise into all the delicious veggies planted there. Soon after, the hodgepodge of amateur gardeners that tend the soil there start developing more than green fingers. Those affected include a nervous office newbie who can conjure fire with a thought, a gruff old NIMBY with the strength of 20 men, a meddling town gossip who can tune into people’s thoughts, among a whole host of superpowered suburbanites.

These folk are from different generations, different backgrounds and only really speak to each other to complain about the weather and ask how each other’s days went (without listening to the answer). But as their fantastical abilities cause their quiet lives to degrade and warp around them, they will have to come together to understand and adjust to their new reality. But even if they master their new skills and grow comfortable in their new bodies, will the rest of the world be ready for the radical changes to the laws of physics they bring?

Down to Earth is a contemporary superhero comedy drama that rotates around multiple main characters to take a skewed eye at classic superpowered scenarios and life in general.
