Community Rating
Description
(Spinoff-Sequel isout!)
In a world where every adventurer has a unique level cap,Aidanis forever stuck at a mediocre level 50.
When his friend Yana invites him on a once-in-a-lifetime quest to the tomb of the legendary knight Gaelith, he joins - hoping to rekindle their bond and perhaps prove he's more than just average.
But things go horribly wrong, and Aidan finds himself trapped in a time loop, forced to take part in an ancient battle against a force he can't even comprehend. All while reliving the same doomed raid again and again until he defeats the embodiment of Darkness itself.
The problem? He can't remember anything he did in previous runs.
Armed only with a faint sense ofDéjà vuand a new unique system designed to help him piece together fragments of his previous selves - given to him by the God of Time - Aidan must fight to outwit Darkness and solve the mystery of the tomb...or die again, and again...
But things get messier when he learns he’s not the only one aware of the time loop.
What to expect:
- Story is a Mystery first, LitRPG second (numbers are present, but secondary and are not the main deal).
- A Soulsborne-inspired dungeon (where nearly everything can one-shot you, and every boss has at least two phases).
- Realistic character progression (MC doesn't go from zero to hero in one loop).
- Story builds up slowly (especially in the first act where MC really struggles to retain memories), then grows legs and starts running (chapter 26 features the jump in progression everyone is waiting for).
- A time loop story focusing on a unique system with skills that offer creative ways to retain memories between loops and an MC who must use his wits to progress.
- A large mystery to unfold, centered around the backstory of the legendary knight, a mysterious rogue who's stuck in the time loop as well, and a grand battle between Time and Darkness.
- A weak/average to strong to OP character progression.
What NOT to expect:
- A gimmick story. There's a planned plot for the entire thing and the sequel currently coming out.

- Ellen TaylorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was a great read. I really enjoyed it! I'll break down my reasoning for each category.
Grammar was excellent. I'm not a huge stickler for grammar. As long as it doesn't pull me out of the world, I give it five stars. This story was great.
The style was great. We follow the story through our main character's POV, Aiden. As it is a time loop story, I was able to follow the sequence of events very well. I was never confused, and though I'd only read as far as the first time loop, I was never lost.
The story is good. I found myself intrigued, and that first chapter cliffhanger was seriously great. I loved how layered this story was, and how much tension there was in later chapters knowing what was happening because of the time loop. It was an intriguing idea, and more importantly, it is being executed well by the author.
Character is great. I love that it's not just Aiden and some wooden side characters. The more I read, the more life the side characters had. Aiden was a great relatable guy, and a great person to view the story through.
Overall, a great read! - KZURoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Mmm, finished it within 30 hours. It was nice read, great concept. I will definitely give 5 stars for the enjoyment.
I am not in the mood to write a critical review right now but there is a lot of polish needed tbh. A bunch of plot holes, well not holes per se but more like plot holes covered with a cloth. They are covered but the explanations aren't satisfactory. I also very highly disliked the characters and their behaviors, I can't explain right now, very low on sleep. But well, it was still well within limits.
Overall I would recommend reading it. It's a great read with a novel concept and lots of fun twists and turns.

Overall I would recommend reading it. It's a great read with a novel concept and lots of fun twists and turns. - Will_WallaceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Unique twist on the Time Loop LitRPG genre. Good pacing, kept me interested and engaged throughout, I read the whole thing in about 3 days.
MC is likable, good-hearted but with very human flaws, and the moments of self-reflection (literally at one point) drive home his progress and his humanity.
Just enough twists and turns to keep it from being an obvious A to B "perfect run", and the limitations of the system keep the tension high.
Well edited, without any glaring grammar or spelling errors that can pull you out of the story. I was immersed from start to finish. - as12010Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Awesome story the characters are interesting especially goren.Love the deja vu system and fight scenes. My only problem was that the world outside the dungeon wasn’t explored but the writing was great, i liked aidan as a mc bit yana felt like a plot device and a burden and i felt irritated by her
- reader -7Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I originally wanted to read the spin off novel… but I kinda decided I should read this one first…. No regrets, except that I read it in 2 days missing significant sleep, and most of a day of work…. I highly recommend this book. Preferably started on a Friday night.
- Rex SuchemRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If I were to summarize this book in a word, it would be what I captioned this review, a Gem.
It has been so immersive so far, with a deep plot,
The fact that the plot can be this deep is an impressive feat, and this for a time loop story with just one day looping again and again with the world of entire timelines and universe at stake! How much can you do in a day!
characters that are deep and fleshed out. I'm dropping a review so more people can read and enjoy this too. - UpsilionEnlightenedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly, one of the better stories on royalroad. It is a LitRPG, and it is based around a time loop, but don't be fooled; this isn't a generic wish-fufillment story.
The style is much more serious than much of the LitRPG genre, with a goal and idea for the book clearly in mind when writing. The story isn't directed vaguely in a direction, every part of it seems devoted and improtant to the story as a whole, and it reads with a building excitement as it goes. It does start a little slow, just due to the natural build-up of the story, but it isn't as bad as some books I've read.
This is a well-written, thought out story with a plot, and a good one. There are genuine plot twists, with foreshadowing and chapters devoted to building up the plot. There aren't any real plotholes or generic sections thrown in tk pad out the story; everything has a role and devotes itself to the plot.
The characters develop, and significantly. The cast is admittedly on the smaller side, with perhaps a dozen notable characters, but there aren't really any side characters either; they all get attention at one point or another, and they all have some level of character growth throughout the story.
The grammar is good; there's not much more it needs. I've noticed some fancier words here and there when the situation calls for it, and the book doesn't hesitate to use more formal grammar over more informal grammar if made to choose. I haven't noticed any grammatical errors or typos, and overall it reads smoothly.
Overall, it's a good book, and written in a way that would make it acceptable in a bookstore, much less a website for web serials. - SephirjonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This was an excellent twist on the timeloop subgenre.
Style: You really couldn't tell that this was the author's first LitRPG. It flowed very well, without focusing too much on the minutiae.
Grammar: There were plenty of mistakes, but the author was willing to accept criticism and learn from them.
Story: Quite bingeable. I finished it, from start to finish, in about 4 days. Not once did I get bored.
Characters: This was where I feel this novel really shone. The characters were varied and detailed, not one feeling like a cookie-cutter copy of another. I loved the heroes, I despised the bad guys, and I only once forgot what the female lead's name was (sorry Yana!).
Overall: For a first finished work, this was a homerun. I'd give it a 4.7/5 stars, if I could figure out how to get the slider off of 0.5 star increments. But I can't, and since, while excellent, it certainly wasn't perfect, I'll stick with a 4.5/5 Stars.
Wait, that wasn't 200 words? Really? Hmm, what else can I say? I guess the weather has been nice lately? Is that enough now? No? Then I guess I could start talking about birds? The African swallow can carry- - Shiina13Royal Road★★★★ 4.0It's well written (in my opinion). Characters were interesting to follow and the progression felt natural. I read it quickly and enjoyed it very much! ♥️
I also love, LOVE that it's completed, with a satisfying ending, and didn't drag on too much...
I I I I I I I I I I I I I - PyroxeneRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Some stories have a good gimmick, but are painful to read. This is not one of them. The grammar and spelling is good enough you don't think about it, and the gimmick has a lot of internal problems.
The time looping is done extremely well in that the repetition has sort of "fast forward" sections that very briefly summarize what is repeated and more detailed parts that are either new, or were only briefly covered in previous loops. It works quite well. The author left an author's note in an early chapter warning about this, which I think was a mistake as it set me expecting a disjointed mess and I almost skipped the story entirely because of this note.
My major problem with this work is how the time loop system works. The whole point of a time loop is to have future knowledge to do things differently, and yet this system wipes the MC's memory for every loop other than a mild sense of Deja Vu, hence the title, sure, but that is not conducive to progress, which wouldn't be a problem if there was no time limit. Spoiler: There is, but you don't hear about it until ch 25 or so.
The aggravation goes even deeper than this though. The one who created the time loop system, Chronos, is the major source of the MC's problems. Not the Big Bad. Sure the Big Bad kills him, but Chronos is the one that made sure his loop system was pretty useless and that the MC never remembers how useless it is. And he gives his "Champion" almost zero useful information, and what little he spills he either waits until 8 loops after it would've been useful, or couches it in a cryptic warning as few details as possible (just do as I say because I am a mighty god and don't ask questions). And he's also the one that bitches at the MC that he's not making any progress. The funniest part is when Chronos gives the MC a permanent memory of his lady love dying in his arms, showing he can easily do that, but not letting him remember anything that helps him actually achieve Chronos' mission.
