- LARSrevolutionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great story full of detail, intrigue, with a splash of gore and body horror with a fun, somewhat (but in actuality, severely) homicidally hungry power source. Do you like Junji Ito? Here's a more light hearted take on the famous (or infamous depending on who you ask) body horror expert, in literary form! Sabomir is a fun character that had his beginning in the author's other story on here, A Crucible of Light; so be sure to check that out too! Though you don't need to have read that in order to appreciate this. There is enough details mixed in with the action that you can dive right in without issue! I'm definitely gonna keep reading this and I'm excited to see how it unfolds!
Style:
It is much like his other story so it is oozing with style and is also at the same time even crisper and due to the way the story has flowed so far, highlights the best of his writing. You can tell the author has a clear vision and has become adept at showing us some insight into the world he sees in his mind!
Story:
While not much has really happened so far story wise (being as only 10 chapters are out at the time of this review), there is plenty of interesting plot hooks and curiosities to keep me intrigued and hopeful for a grand story. Based on his other work, I don't think you'll be disappointed here!
Grammar:
No real notes or issues with grammar, it is well written and no glaring or too obvious issues to be found!
Character:
Now THIS is where I think this author shines the most. His characters are vivid, interesting, full of depth and did I mention interesting? There is rarely a one-off, shallow character to be found, and certainly no one with a name could even be remotely considered 1 or 2 dimensional. These characters really have a way of pulling you into their minds and their actions and words feel like they come from a core of sincerity and genuine care of the author when considering his characters. I'd venture to say that this is a character driven story by spades
