Destiny: The Legendary Hunter
Community Rating
Description
A dedicated Destiny player finishesThe Witch Queenas a Warlock and decides to start over as a Hunter. The moment he clicks “new character,” he’s pulled through the screen. No menus. No log out. No respawns on demand. He’s not a Guardian yet, not a player anymore, but something worse: an NPC stuck inside the Destiny universe years before the game’s “start,” when the real players arrive.
If he wants to survive long enough to see that future, he’ll need to learn the rules, earn power the hard way, and move through a world that doesn’t care whether he knows the lore.

- Hurrican999Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Disclaimer: I rate based on enjoyment, not quality.
Writing my review because the author asked, re-writing my review because I'm spreading misinfo.
First thing I'll start with; I don't play Destiny, but I did at one point. You don't need to know anything to get right in. If something isn't explained or you want some further reading, you can look it up.
Our MC, Void, starts out as a blank college student who plays a lot of Destiny. He wakes up in the middle of nowhere as his new character years (I think?) before the story starts, and decides to change the future. He also gets a system for some reason. Throughout the story so far, a bigger plot and end goal is revealed and it's pretty epic.
The characters are good. I only really paid attention to how Cayde-6 was written in specific, and the author captured him spot-on, in my opinion. Obsidian and Void's "brother" are my personal favorites, but I like pretty much every character.
I do have one issue - the system. It's used mainly as a quest window and ability shop, but on some parts it's straight up plot armor. In a recent chapter, he pulled out multiple high-level abilities out of nowhere that he just had lying around. Single-use, yes, but still. It doesn't diminish my enjoyment, though, just a nitpick.
Overall pretty fun, I look forward to the next arc. I'm interested to see if the Exo Stranger plays a part eventually, but that still seems far-off. Thank you for writing this story, Writers_Ablood. - TaioeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly it's a good fanfiction, good to extend that i forget even grammar errors that author might made. It has a range of characters with divers personality and boy the mc personality is what grabbed my whole attention, good fights, especially boss fights, you will know that it's a boss fight alright and it can go either for mc and his company. Solid background for most characters and plot development. Just wish could explore more of skills and abilities, still don't know time freezing skill/ enhanced perception from mc and he doesn't seems to care although seems rather important. Overall solid 5/5 for fanfic
- Yumeko_KQJARoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0For me, Destiny 1 and 2 are my main go to story telling video game. There are hardly any authors who wrote the fanfictions with detailed reference from the game as much as this story, and with Destiny Franchise's release of numerous content, those who aren't Destiny players or who don't play video games may have to do research deep down into the franchise story.
Nevertheless, I can guarantee you that the author of this fanfiction is thoughtful and determined to bring best narrative for you to craving for more chapter, Which including myself as well.
Thank you for writing this story. - BosstinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It’s good that’s all I really can say about it this is my first review so i am not good at this anyway it’s good 👍

Only one has an actual anime and game. That and this I feel could both be a continuation or run concurrently with the main story of the games. This is my favorite based on a game though. The lore is already there. And the author blends it in nicely. Even when deviating from the cannon lore they create a story that still feels true to the game. I love this story.
- sun312772Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5You must read this fanfic if you were and still are a fan of destiny. The main character struggles and can't just save everyone so he has to get smart. The interactions with other characters is great and makes you feel this world is alive and not just retelling the original story with a few changes. Update schedule is a bit inconsistent though.
- DahakStazRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Very funny story over all.
The beggining chapters are little clunky and chaotic but after 30-40 Chapters the story grows better, more consistent and with clear objectives.
You can feel that Author grows in his Skill whith the progress of the Story.
Definetly a fun Idea and I recommend it even to those that never played the Destiny games.
All around a great fic to read. - JemdinsRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This one diverges from the usual fanfiction in that it showcases paths and people outside the usual campaign of the original video-game.
Destiny, as a world, has so much potential and places to explore. Although the story hasn't capitalized on the ontological side of things too much and I am a nitpicker for the lore being accurately interpreted, this story goes far and beyond to make itself distinguished amongst the many other Destiny fanfictions out there.
There is a protagonist, that isn't the guardian, they go through the inevitable fate that awaits sol like all others, but they have their own will, their own choices that shape the world around them. Don't think of this one as just another retelling of the campaigns, no.
Guardians make their own destiny.
And this one... is going to make itself into a legend.

On another note, if you are worried about the oh- so terrible system.
On many places it becomes a crutch or cornerstone that the entire story revolves around, making the experience rather bland if not properly done.
I can say that in this occasion, it fits in just the right amount to not feel overbearing and yet bring meaning to the plot. Yes, it is the cheat code. But not something that carries the protagonist, he needs to put in the effort. No impostor syndrome here.
Maybe in the future more things will come into play that will unveil its true nature, but for now, I feel like it is well done. - KetchupSplatterSpecialistRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5There are times when I can't stand to read a novel, and times when I can't stand to read a different one. For this story, I didn't feel either. I neither felt like dropping it, nor felt like it was captivating.
Based on the feeling of how it's written, I'd say that the author has a lot of great ideas, and a great attention to detail. Unfortunately, the story does not focus on thrilling things. It is rather atmospheric, with the narration describing a lot of shapes and colors, but the characters and plot don't feel like they're building to much, besides the general MC power-leveling and impending doom thing. I enjoyed reading it, and the dialogue and character interaction frequently has cute moments, hence my rather high rating. But, I would not be surprised if others struggled to keep reading, despite the pacing of the plot moving rather fast in comparison to a lot of novels.
In essence, the story is good, and I'd definitely recommend it if you didn't have much else to read. But, there's just a slight something missing to turn it from good to great.
