Is a fun ride in a dark world.
You managed to have a dual protagonist story where I dont like one character more, pretty impressive.
The pacing feels a little odd sometimes, and the characterization is a bit abrupt, particularly with diana. Thinking of that chapter our protagonists met, and the humanization felt a bit heavy handed, but also like that matched the chrome/crime family.
I love mutation stories though, and the magic system is great fun (though the rare info dumps are unengaging.)
    Thanks for the meal

If I were better at writing in English, I would love to make my review longer, but so far, I’ve had an absolute blast and am eagerly awaiting the next chapters.
    Style:
Normally, I’m not a big fan of stories with multiple main characters, but the author has managed to make both perspectives gripping and meaningful within the short span of what’s been released so far. I never felt like one of the characters was the “less likable” one.
    Rating: 5/5
    Characters:
The characters quickly develop depth and are relatable so far, without feeling shallow or one-dimensional.
    Rating: 5/5
    Grammar:
There are no constant repetitions or glaring grammatical errors. I noticed a few minor issues, but they’re rare and don’t detract from the overall quality.
    Rating: 4.5/5
    Story/World:
The world is reminiscent of a blend between Cyberpunk and Godclads, which piques my curiosity, especially regarding the two power systems. Beyond that, the world feels alive and strikes a good balance in terms of description—neither too much nor too little. The first battle (where the characters gain their powers) had a slight hint of plot armor, but overall, I’m completely satisfied so far.
    5/5
In conclusion, I rarely ever write reviews, but this story is a true gem for me. Read the first six chapters, and you’ll be hooked—trust me!

I've read hundreds of Royal Road novels, and this is easily within the top 10. Excellent writing, believable and nuanced characters, immersive world, a fun dual-progression systems (do you want to be a cyberpunk, or do you want to be a mutant?) - this book has all the hallmarks of a rising star.
I would highly recommend that you give this book a read!

What I mean by the title is that quality-wise, I don’t understand why the author didn’t just contact a publisher to get this book made into an actual novel. I feel like I got trapped into raising my standards by reading this book, I was not expecting anything special based on the blurb. In fact, I almost didn’t read it because I hate books with multiple perspectives. Turns out I hate poorly planned perspectives.
It’s clear a lot of effort was put into this novel, from planning a three act structure to balancing both MC’s with their own goals, powers and cast of characters.
Ripley is fundamentally a flawed genius, he’s very tech smart and knows how to navigate the streets but not necessarily how to fight in them. He’s like a bird that’s just been given wings and thinks that they can fly into a tornado, fails and seems to genuinely learn from his mistakes. He’s also very much giving off a degree of mental instability, not quite crazy scientist, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some future events cause him to teeter on the line of a sympathetic villain. The influence on his mind with his powers is something I hope gets more detailed, it’s understandable why he has it but at the same time I think his character arc is going to revolve about coming to grips with the past rather than rushing forward.
Diana’s arc very recently took a major turn too, I’m a bit worried about her, but after learning more from her backstory I can say she’s a very interesting character. Based on my understanding of her, her arc appears to be grappling with the destiny she was born for, and to try and be something only she can decide. Like Ripley, her powers also are more than what she thought they were, and the concept of mutations combining randomly is something I feel could force her to become creative with her powers. I would like to see more of her interacting with her father, but I’m assuming the author has plans for him down the line since he’s apparently very important for the city.

A police MC sparking her two or so braincells to investigate (punch) stuff and bring justice to the district. She's a girl boss experiencing the life of a girl failure. She can be smart sometimes, but everyone else is a 5head (most times).
And an inventor MC that does crime, invents stuff and be emotionally irresponsible. This guy has most of the non-punching involved ability progression. He also sometimes gets the two braincells that come up with dumb ideas.
    They're pretty cool.

I have really enjoyed delving into the world created in this story. The author has great imagination, and keeps a straight storyline (not rewriting past events whimsically) while not sacrificing any creativity or dramatic events. This story explores a lot of real struggles and dark paths we can go down. Only recommend if you can withstand sorrow, but by the time you reach that, you'll be too attached to the characters to stop reading.
My only complaint is I don't think the author has enough people review drafts before they post. There are numerous grammatical errors and errors using figures of speech. Despite these, the story is captivating and I can't stop reading!!

Wow this is amazing! And for the update speed! Thanks a lot for this amazing experience and I’m going to follow it all the way to the end.
I really like Ripley and Diana. They work so well as a pair of protagonists, so similar yet so different.
the only thing I’d change is if we had a longer buildup. Felt like they got thrown into the deep end. But that’s my preference, the story is great anyways.

I absolutely love this novel so far!
This is my first cyberpunk novel and its really got me hooked for more. I love both of the MCs, the world is absolutely enrapturing and I can confidently say that the power system and world building makes this novel stand out.
In conclusion, it’s a great novel and definitely worth the read! Be ready for some gore and disturbing scenes tho ( the self surgury scenes from Ripley were kinda crazy)

It scratched my cyber punk itch better than most books that I've bought. The cyber punk genre is weirdly barren. It's good to see that their are some good books being made for the genre.
The LitRPG elements makes sense in setting. It gets a little slow down when they swap over to the investigator POV, but other than that I think it's great. I do like that the POVs swap from the Law and Criminals.

One of the best stories, in my opinion, on RR. It’s drags you in and keeps you close as you read along. The mix of both Science and Fantasy is well done, neither side showing too much giving it a feel of humans just about understanding what they are doing.
As you further progress, you catch bigger glimpses of where the author is taking you. As the world building becomes bigger so do the problems. With the balance of victory and defeat, it truly feels like you’re watching people live their life through a post apocalyptic future where humans are just getting comfortable only for it all to crash back down.
