In the near future, the corporations that rule society treat their citizens like products and tools. People live to work and work to live, but not everyone—some people prosper on the fringe, some thrive as thorns in the paws of the corporate lions . . .
Juliet just wants to get a ride home from her double shift at the scrapyard when something bizarre and horrifying happens, something that throws her into the crosshairs of Western Bio Dynamics, a mega-corporation out of Phoenix that would just as soon dissect a person as interview them.
She didn’t ask for the stolen, illegal tech that falls into her hands, but she accepted it. Now she needs to find a way to skip town, find a way to hide from WBD until she figures out a plan. She has to learn to live in the shadows, to work outside the corporate system, and to deal with the sundry characters, honorable and nefarious, inhabiting that world.
Join Juliet as she works to improve herself physically, mentally, and in reputation. She has a lot of learning to do and will face many challenges along the way, from synthetic bounty hunters to double-crossing operators, to struggles with her own long-held beliefs about right and wrong.
Can one scrapyard welder stand up to the big corporations? Can she find a way to not only survive but also make a name for herself? Keep reading to find out . . .
New chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (3,000 to 5,000 words each.)

- BeewineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good Cyberpunk is written like this!
Down on her luck and financially trapped to the lower rungs of society welder Juliet Bianchi has wound up with CyberTech that the Corpos will kill her for. Forced to "Ride the Tiger" she and her new Cyberware are forced to run and improve herself if she has any hope to survive. Well written with a immersive fleshed out world that we could see actually existing, the story stays exciting and is a great read for action and cyberpunk fans. - Ca3disRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This review is written with regards to the recently completed first story arc. I will try update it as the greater narrative progresses.
Style: The writing style is pleasing and easy to parse.
Grammar: I have not picked up on any errors.
Story: First-off, the LitRPG elements fit seamlessly into the story's context and aren't overbearing.
The narrative has a very good pacing overall and is quite exciting - one of the few stories I wait for the next instalment with noticeable anticipation. Very nice worldbuilding is present.
Character: This is where the story really shines for me - I relate well to Juliet and I appreciate her willingness to try to do the right thing in a world/genre where greed, selfishness and ruthlessness is so common. Maybe this will change as she gets more jaded, but I really prefer a character that feels real and sharp who still bothers to be human. {One minor note I would make is that Juliet could stand on her own in some expertise areas - but that's what character development is for.}
Overall, Cyber Dreams has great potential and is realizing that potential with each chapter release.
{Side note: PlumParrot is very personable with commenters as well} - ChaospatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The world of this story is alive. Instead of just focusing on technology, the author creates characters who live in that world. Even for characters that have only been seen once or twice, it's possible to read personality, backstory, and sometimes personal goals without slowing down the main story.
Their interactions with the MC allow his personality to develop at breakneck speed.
Errors and/or betrayals made by characters, secondary and main, are reasonable and not forced to advance the scenario. Which makes this story extremely fluid and pleasant to read.
Combat and stealth are short and simple, but since that's not the focus of this novel, I don't really mind. - TheDarkerHorseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easily the most consistent novel/book I have ever read, both in terms of schedule as well as in terms of quality. There are few grammatical mistakes to note of, if any, and even then it is because other people brought attention to it. The story itself is structured and written beautifully, and the pacing is pretty consistent. This is one of my favorite novels thus far, mixing action and comedy with a few slices of life. If the author is reading this (probably not, though) I want to tell them that I wish them all the best and thank them for all the time they had put into putting a novel of this caliber on RR (I’m flat broke).
- WeekslongRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Another PlumParrot Story and another absolute banger. There might be some psychic shenanigans afoot with Plum knowing exactly what tickles my brain and this story delivers that feeling in spades. I saw this blurb and decided to give it a try due to my fondness for the author's other series Victor of Tucson and wow Cyber Dream trumped even that.
It's a setup I've seen countless times with our MC Juliet stumbling upon an ability/AI that forces her into a dangerous new world. We closely follow Juliet's adventures as a new merc mainly through the use of 'gigs' or mercenary missions. If you've played Cyberpunk 2077 then you'll easily see the connective tissues between the 2 and the story pulls a lot from CDPR's Cyberpunk. It never felt derivative and by book 3 this story is well and truly its own beast. Cyber Dreams never devolves into feeling formulaic and there are streaks of brilliance throughout due to Plum Parrot's ability to effortlessly switch genres and tone as the story unfolds. Action, suspense, espionage, and sci-fi add to the story to ensure the series never feels like it's resting on its laurels.
Character work is great, there's a huge amount of characters introduced but at its heart, this story follows Juliet and her AI Angel. Juliet's development is excellent with her changing immensely over time in a satisfying manner, the Cyberpunk setting allows for some truly hard lessons to be learned in a way that other settings sometimes struggle with. Their relationship is fantastic and Angel is a great switch up from the typical rational AI seen in many stories. Side characters could be hit or miss but I found each book had clear standouts and the characters introduced in book 3 won me over.
Grammar is easily a 10/10 with no road bumps switching from Kindle to RR. The progression stood out to me with each book escalating things in both a satisfying and earned manner. I'm 25 chapters ahead on Patreon (highly recommend) and am surprisingly upset that I'll have my fi - prialRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of my favorite series of all time. It does a really good job across the series trying to keep the character growth believable and consistent. I would love to see more from this universe and my only complaint is there isn’t more. If you like cyber punk but something trying to be its own thing this is a great read.
- superlloydRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So glad I found that before book 1 was taken off. This book became my second favourite on this site!
Excellent story, suspense, twists, psychology, original rendering of the cyberpunk universe.
(Added point for originality here, not many cyberpunk stories)
Also no Isekai non sense, no litrpg (though, ahem , some minimal blue box, more for giggle than anything else, you'll see) and no OP leveling.
Though her cyberware is slowly becoming exceptional, organically, through interesting life events.
After reading the other comments, I want to specify, the story does not, indeed, have a particularly original start, using the well known trope of the MC starting on a new life path after accidentally stumbling on super advanced implant... And there will be no flashy sandevistan fights. But I really like how the story and suspense builds up, how the story complexity evolve, how the protagonists act - Follower Of MysteriesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is so far well done, main character is cool and like the way she handles her enemies, and friends. The overall progression of strength she has is what interests me most, as it's not to fast for what she has and slow despite the situation she's in.
- GrelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great world building, characters, and plot. I love the combination of near future cool sci-fi and weird interesting disfunctional society. The main character has to navigate a dangerous world but one that presents so many intriguing opportunities to put her resourcefulness and growing skills to work. The world and characters feel instantly relatable and real because they are so well fleshed out.
- InmiumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the great characters that are well fleshed out. Good pacing and the story has a true cyberpunk vibe.
Onto some nitpicking and probably more a matter of personal taste; I'd prefer less action in space and I like my MC's a bit more ruthless. Bottom line makes this story still a definite recommendation though!
