Description

Warning! This story is on an indefinite hiatus.

Update 2/8/25:Currently being rewritten on Patreon. Updates will resume once I feel satisfied and ready.

Benjamin Bishop gets a new lease on life as the new, ground-breaking VR game "Cultivation Online" is released, shattering the world's supposition of what a VR game can accomplish. Join him as he uncovers the secrets of immortality in a virtual world that is far more than it appears.

Author's note:So, recently I was inspired by this story on WebNovel which many of you might have read (called "Cultivation Online"). The idea of combining LitRPG and VR with Xianxia appealed to me and immediately piqued my interest. Unfortunately, while popular and successful, I cannot say that I liked how the author chose to tell their story. Thus, this is my attempt at something similar, but hopefully different. What to expect:- A pragmatic and logical male lead

- Virtual reality with a unique twist

- Weak to strong

- Sect politics

- Cultivation

My first review. I absolutely love this series. It feels so real and action packed. The pacing is beautiful and I’m looking forward to learning how everything progresses. Great going Author!!!
I have read the other series under the same name but I can verify that it is not a copy paste. This has taken the genre a virtual reality and made it Real. It’s not a quick to OP character but definitely has potential.

very good, from the story to the characters, the story is being done at a good pace and the characters seem alive, I always love the initial level of cultivation in stories where they can't cast a lot of magic by hand and is more focused on martial arts and improving the body, I hope it continues like this for a while, I hope the game influences Bishop's real life a lot too.

The story is well-written. The main character is relatable and easy to root for. The world itself feels alive and it and the characters living in it have their own internal logic that makes them feel human (which is suprisingly rare in anything cultivation realated).
The world building is skillfully done and immersive. The plot and the future plot hooks are added with grace while remaining unitrusive. All in all, I would definitly recommend reading it. Its worth your time.

A very fun read so far and it feels very well thought out. I think that any fan of the genre won't regret picking this up. The other players actiond feel a bit exagerated but not uncommon in this genre.
I really reccomend this for fans of cultivation and beginners to the genre..

Great pacing with an interesting main character.
The author explores both the human condition and human nature when people are introduced to a world without the consequences we have all come to expect in our day-to-day lives.
It's an interesting story with a solid progression system integrating game mechanics into cultivation.
I'm looking forward to how the story and characters progress in a game/world that I suspect is not all that it seems.

So far I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions. Enjoy the moral dilemmas, try to avoid black and white characters, but so far you are doing very well on that front. Please continue i think there are many more things to tell, now that the real cultivation is finally about to start.
Thanks for your work! You are doing great!

I don't usually go for these kind of VR story lines, but I decided to check it out anyways. And I'm glad I did. :) These first few chapters were surprisingly enjoyable to read. The writing is good and I love the pace you're setting. MC acts realistic for the situation and seems likeable enough. Looking forward to learn more about the world you're building here, keep up the great work!

I don't know why this hasn't been done before; or at least more times.
    Xianxia AND a VRMMO?
It's almost a match made in heaven between the two. It's a shame there aren't more like these out there.
I'll admit; I'm more of an english reader than webnovel reader (because those tend to be terrible); but I look forward to seeing how this story plays out.

Really enjoying the story so far, author is doing a great job of building the world in an interesting way and providing plot, system, and worldbuilding information at a great pace. Beyond that, the central character is already compelling to read about, and I look forward to seeing him grow and change. The irl aspect of the story is handled in a refreshing way, and definitely enhances rather than takes from the story, which is often the case in vr tales.
Style is neat and straightforward, good descriptions of characters and surroundings, excellent portrayals of combat and emotion.
Story is great so far, as said above.
Grammar is solid, no notable spelling or grammar issues getting in the way of enjoyment.
Characters are good. One minor critique is that some of the the characters around the mc feel a little shallow at this point, but I expect that to change as we get to see more of them, and certainly the man who singles out the mc's teammate in the courtyard seems beyond irrational.
I'm looking forwards to future installments as they arrive, and to see what kind of effects cultivation methods, supremacies, and proficiencies will have once they're beyond 'beginner'. I also expect to see interesting engagement with tsome of he many different wonky progression systems that can show up in xianxia, like alchemy, physiques, bloodlines, soul stuff, and so on.
