Cultivation is Creation

Description

Ke Yin has a problem. Well, several problems.

First, he's actually Kane from Earth.

Second, he's stuck in a cultivation world where people don't just split mountains with a sword strike, they build entire universes inside their souls (and no, it's not a meditation metaphor).

Third, he's got a system with a snarky spiritual assistant that lets him possess the recently deceased across dimensions.

And finally, the elders at the Azure Peak Sect are asking why his soul realm contains both demonic cultivation and holy arts? Must be a natural talent.

Expectations:

- MC's main cultivation method will be plant based and related to World Trees (chapter 24)

- Weak to Strong MC

- MC will eventually create his own lifeforms within his soul as well as beings that can cultivate

- Main world is the first world (Azure Peak Sect)

- MC will revisit worlds (extensive world building of multiple realms)

- Light LitRPG aspects

- Time loop elements

- No harem

I also like how the inner realms work and how he has to gain powers and abilities, he has to work for it and that is pretty fun.

I have had a great time reading this book so far. The new spin to cultvation while still sticking to the classic elements is very refreshing. All that is great but the part that truly makes this book so special is the quality being amazing along with the release rate being so high. With 3 chapters a day it helps me get more invested as well as providing so much entertainment. Book is a 10/10 and definitely recommend subscribing to patreon.

Very enjoyable read with frequent updates. The main character's method of cultivation is very interesting with periods of fast and slower progression that does not feel like hand outs. The side characters feel developed and much more than two dimensional methods of showing off the main character that side characters in lesser writer's stories can come off as. Highly recommend reading.

Generally, when I read stories on RR, I expect there to be a fairly significant amount of problems, whether it's with the story itself, grammar, or a host of other common problems. With this? There are none. Either the author double and triple checks his world, or he has an editor going through everything before he publishes. I sincerely think this is the closest to a final draft I have read on here, and there are several that I am absolutely in love with.
Now then, onto the actual review.
The very first chapter didn't do a whole lot to interest me, but that's not uncommon  - sometimes, it's just difficult to get invested in a nee set of characters. Having said that, from there, things pick up quickly. What I have found most amusing is that the MC consistently comments on the fact that he's like a protagonist in a story  - unusual origin, super fancy cultivation method, death defying odds. But the way it's done is tasteful and fun, rather than in your face plot armor. And he doesn't ACT like he has plot armor, even though he may.
His unique cultivation method isn't so much ostentatious and overtly powerful, but it does set him in the 'noticable' category, rather than the 'god-like powerhouse' one. And, as before, he mentions that they, too, may be their own protagonist in a story. It's hysterical the way he actively chooses to navigate around drama that could have been just by assuming it's going to be a problem based on the clichés they invoke, and it makes me laugh and nod along every time.
The side characters are interesting, too. And when you think he'll have a love interest, you'll instead be surprised. Which made me both happy and sad at the same time. It leads to some priority management and realizations, but was also a little bitter sweet. For me, anyways. I'm certainly not unhappy with the choice, especially from the perspective of the book as a whole. Both ofbthe primary relationships in his life seem meaningful and well adjusted, which is lovely. I really enjoyed this story, almost finished it in a single night. The main character and cast are  good written. The only thing that I sort of dislike was the whole system part of it but it's not bad. The part I enjoyed though is the world hopping while the main character has only been to one other world so far, the power system and characters he has met there are really good, can't wait to the see what other worlds he can make. The cultivation aspect is interesting "world building within world building " basically.

This is very enjoyable for me to read and honestly nothing is more important than that for me. I am enjoying the characters and the development I have seen so far, I'm really enjoying the double cultivation with Blue and Red Core since it gives new perspective to what he can do with his plant manipulation. id recommend you try and give it a read.

Started great, then a extreme change in writing style happened that basically made it impossible for me to be immersed anymore.
I'll write the rest of the review in spoilers so you can chose to ignore it easier, which i suggest you do if you don't have the same issue as me.
When his inner world is created he gets an AI helper that pretty much forces comedy into every interaction they have after just a couple of chapters. Then a few chapters after that there is little to nothing left of a serious tone in the book. Quite literally every single response and interaction has forced comedy in it. While some comedy is fine, the "two friends" no longer has a naturally developed personality based on living and growing up in a cultivation world, they both basically make the same jokes, and they both basically sound like edgy anime trope manga readers and are now completely selfaware of that. Along with the AI having scanned the MC's memories and is doing the same thing in every single interaction by talking like someone like this but from earth.
I will give this book a few more chapters to see if it changes and update the review, but if not then this book just isn't for me and will be dropped. As of this review though the author is making good money on patreon so my opinion clealry shouldn't mean squat. I always prefer authors to write thier book rather than what specific readers want. Congratulations on a hit book regardless on if i drop it.

A good story with well executed world-building and magic systems, but it comes with downsides of being published in web novel daily format even more than a lot other works.
250+ chapters in the mc is still only at 7th level of his cultivation
A lot of repetition basically every lesson with different mentors comes down to the same cycle of MC trying to brute force mentor or AI telling him he needs to guide his powers not force them, MC suceeds.
Overall i feel like those 250+ chapter I've read could be compressed into 100 or less if you ignored platonic conversations, repeated lessons, irrelevant side characters, and over all repeated use of same thing over and over again.

I was debating which score to give this story since I felt very conflicted about it. But I decided to try to create an equalizer for everything that I've experienced while reading this story and then go over what I liked and didn't like. Now please remember that everything I'm saying here is just my subjective opinion, and that's not how you're going to view the story, so don't be deterred by this; rather, use it as a lens for what you could expect while you're reading.
    Style score:
Not the best. Sometimes the word choices feel a little oddly placed, and some paragraphs feel very short while others are very long (which is something I can relate to and struggle with). And sometimes, multiple ideas get combined without any clear reason. Some word choices might also confuse some of the readers, but at the end of the day, the jokes land well 9 times out of 10. When they don't, they don't really affect your reading experience and aren't cringed out like you normally would be with other stories because the jokes actually make sense within context.
    Story score:
When the author was writing this, they had a really good idea for a story. Although the simple reincarnation premise is not anything new and it's quite basic, and the cultivation idea is also not very new and oversaturated, he manages to add his own little touch to the story that feels quite unique to me, since I'm not really into or have seen many cultivation stories. Even the system idea, which can be very oversaturated, especially for a platform like Royal Road, was done well. The idea that you can create a universe inside of yourself is pretty unheard of. However, it just didn't land for me. The protagonist did the smart thing by capitalizing on his ability to travel to other worlds and gain their respective power systems for his own, but it just felt like a pretty cliché cheat that gave him an advantage over his adversaries and companions. Despite the uniqueness of the world he's supposed to visit, they didn't

I was enjoying it at the beginning. Things were progressing well enough. Main character wasn't too over powered and the side characters interacted with the mc. Unfortunately this interaction is my main issue now. It feels like the chapters right now are endless flat dialogue with almost no impact to the story. And I don't mind banter and even just chats if they are written well here they just aren't.
Powers are pretty cool even if i gave up before they became that relevant.
Another thing thats holding back the story is the constant referencing and mocking of similar type of stories. It feels unnecessary since a lot of the time the tropes it references are not actually tropes at all. While the story is pretty generic with an underdog type of situation who has amazing powers that nobody else has.
Finally the humor did not land for me. Or more the fact that I didn't realize it was supposed to be funny until I read the description of the story.
I have been fairly negative here but i think there is a decent book hidden in there. Just it might take a rewrite or two to get there.
