Description
Tired of the same old tales? Welcome to the origin story of the gods.
What will become of the worlds when the Amnesia Bomb strikes? When it wipes out the memories of every living soul across the universe? Who will save the worlds when the Severed spare no effort to strip every soul of all their power? When all souls fall, who is worthy of power?
Memories die, hope fades, worlds fall, creation is unmade, yet through it all we remain.
We are the dreamless, whose souls never sleep—called Drackmoor by some. Each night, as silence gathers below the stars, we find our beds, not to dream, but to awaken. For when we close our eyes we find another morning, upon another world, through our other eyes. We are the dual-lived. Many names have been crafted for us in history and legend—Sorcerer, Sage, Alchemist, Seer, perhaps even Infinite. We are the Drackmoor.
Are you one of us?

- Max DanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0In the Wake of the Amnesia Bomb centers around Moraithe, a reluctant hero struggling with self-doubt, fear, and the loss of his power due to forgotten memories.
The story itself is complex, grand in scale, and filled with layers that progressively unravel with each chapter. The world-building is truly remarkable, with the author creating a rich tapestry of magic and philosophical themes. The world is filled with many interesting and fresh concepts, like revenescent (a pocket dimension that bends the rules of time and space) and Entanglements (similar to a skill or magic).
The tension builds effectively from the beginning, starting with quiet anticipation and escalating into high-stakes battles. The Severed, monstrous invaders from another world, inject both horror and urgency into the story, making the physical and emotional stakes feel real and immediate. The arrival of Elithir, a cosmic being whose power reshapes reality itself, shifts the narrative from personal struggle to the grander scale of universal upheaval. I cannot say more about this to avoid spoilers.
The writing in In the Wake of the Amnesia Bomb is, for the most part, clean and fluid, with strong attention to detail and structure. The prose is rich, with an elevated tone that complements the grandeur of the world and its characters.
The pacing is great, balancing moments of quiet reflection with heart-pounding action sequences. The language transitions from contemplative to intense with ease, making it easy for the reader to follow Moraithe's internal and external struggles.
However, there are occasional moments where sentences can be a bit long and harder to digest. I personally needed to re-read certain parts a few times. But perhaps this is because I'm not a native English speaker. It somehow reminds me of the movie Interstellar, which is very complex and beautifully presented, but requires more time to understand.
One highlight is the main character himself. Moraithe is a wonderfully complex prota - ViUlRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The opening reels you in, with a tense and ominous atmosphere, and is a must read for action fanatics! Keeps you hooked in for the long haul. The prose is immersive, with vivid descriptions and emotional stakes that keeps you engaged until the very end.
Looking forward to every chapter with giddy excitement! - OrganonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall Score: 4.5 / 5
So - it starts of relatively standard fiction. Excellently crafted world-building and some nice dialogue thrown between the characters.
We get introduced to Entanglements - the equivalent of 'Magic' or 'Skills' in most stories, but also, unique in its own right.
Then, something happens - when it does, this relatively standard start transforms in a way I didn't expect it and delivers a unique take on Progression Fantasy. I fully recommend a read.
You can tell immediately that a lot of thought has been put into the world, characters and unique systems within the fiction.
Grammar Score: 5/5
I can't fault the grammar, the Author has spent a lot of time crafting and editing the prose. It reads well.
Style & Story Score: 4.5 /5
The Author throws us into an immediate conflict that does well to build the world, three to four chapters in, we get introduced to the MC's main drive.
The story is methodical and detailed and of a scale much grander than the usual I've read on this platform. Whether thats a good or bad thing? Depends on the reader - this is an epic, so be prepared for that.
I have combined story and style as the Author conveys the story in the manner described above. It's an epic story and it feels that way to read.
If you're looking for more engaging reading, this is one for you.
Character Score: 5 / 5
The characters and the dialogue are great. Norogth, Saffrael, Moraithe - all have unique voices and desires, this is captured and delivered well.
Thank you for the story and I look forward to more. - nyctophilusRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5If you are looking for epic scales and monumental stakes, this might be a story for you. It's ambitious, there is a complicated magic system, hints of deep lore behind the world that it seems like we will be slowly introduced to as the MC regains their memories, and a clear threat from a the MCs past that they can't remember all the details of.
The MC was once very powerful, but has lost their memories and with it most of their power causing them to have to rise from the bottom again. The numbers will go up, a lot, like quadrillions is the upper limits here, maybe higher. The story is also told non-linearly, letting us see the MC and their progression at different time points - so there is always the next power fantasy moment just around the corner to enjoy.
Style: 4.5/5
The author has some good vocab and uses some timeline jumps to be able to tell different parts of the story simultaneously. Prose is heavy on description and action and less so dialogue.
Story: 5/5
Story is definitely ambitious. This is a story about creator beings with cosmic powers and the wars and interactions they've obviously had over very long lives. If you are interested in that, it will scratch that itch i think.
Grammar: 5/5
No issues.
Character: 4/5
This is a style preference I think, if you want deep and relatable characters I don't think you will find it here, but that's not what this story is trying to be I think. If you want mountains exploding, give it a go!
Overall: 4.5/5 - StabbybabyRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Overall: The writing leans heavily on a feeling of an epic tale with grand statements that come across as flowery but disruptive to the story progression. Multiple genres and tropes are woven together with passion, but more focus is needed to prevent the story from becoming disjointed from the multiple time shifts present in the points of view. The descriptor tags used for the MCs were helpful. Cover is a different title from the posted title. The author follows through with consistent content created at a rapid pace.
Style: The author has a penchant for descriptive language mixed with DBZ levels of power growth and an emphasis on the esoteric nature of the mechanics present. Heavy on exposition. When using the mechanics to drive the story forward, it is often a stumbling block, as I had to go back and reread previous chapters to understand what was going on with the powers being used.
Story: Moraithe is attempting to regain the power he has forgotten he had. The amnesia bomb is mentioned, but the driving force relies more on a throne filled with souls being destroyed, unleashing the severed souls to wreak havoc in the universe. Powers are varied and lack a memorable description when introduced, causing careful rereading to be necessary to understand what is being done with them. It is an attempt at a divine war amongst what seems to be the progeny of creator beings. The power levels, self-assurance specifically, are outlined, but the implications of how one operates at each power level are not explored.
Grammar: There are a few grammatical errors. Some misplaced punctuation. Redundancy in language is reused in the same sentence.
Character: The Story is focused on the epicness of actions taken by the characters with little in the way of background or development. Dialogue takes a backseat to the actions of the characters. Only two characters stick out, and that is tied to there power level only.
