I'm a software engineer. When I started reading the story, I feared that author knows nothing about programming, and MC will get some bullshit powers from that. Surprizingly, while descriptions were quite flowery, they were mostly realistic. And thanks to the author for describing our job in such a nice way!
Unfortunately, the story quickly goes to a generic cultivation novel. And there it's not that great. Why MC knows local language? Why locals are so accepting and helpful? Why MC goes along with their suggestions? And MC being a programmer boils down to "he cultivates faster and maybe good with arrays".

Just like a dream being recalled, and written down in a journal. There is no reality to tie you down but no real substance either.
    What do I mean?
-there is a sense of peace or joy from reading most chapters.
-Instead of showing actual conversations we just get to be told they happened.
    -Everything is sunshine and rainbows.
-Everyone is inviting and happy to have you.
-Every difficulty is seen in a past perspective where you can laugh about it.
-No one wants to question anything.
While the first chapter is filled with flowery words it is tied to reality so it is hard to read but feels real. Beyond that point it slowly losses both the flowery style and its tie to reality making it easier to read but making less sense.
    Examples:
    1.
'The message was cryptic yet chillingly specific, an invitation of sorts to a clandestine event that spoke of programming in a way that made his usual coding sessions seem as exciting as watching paint dry.'
->why are we being told about the message and not shown it?
'Jim! I heard from your.... neighbor's cat's therapist, that you're running off ...And you didn't think to inform your mother?'
->how? it's not like a tiny village where everyone knows everyone ... while it might show an over protective mom it feels like a comedy sketch.
    2.
'As he moved closer to the village, Jim observed the villagers from a safe distance.'
-> i get that you are trying to go for a "like a theme park" feel but why did no one notice a stranger arriving at the village?
' "I guess I could use a little guidance. This is all a bit... new."
Liu Feng chuckled softly. "Indeed, young Jin. It is quite new. I'll tell you what, how about a trial run? '
->why is he laughing ? and what is new that he is agreeing with?
    3.
' Ying surveyed Jin for a moment before breaking into a welcoming grin. "Good to meet you, Jin. Let's see if we can't find a mission suited to our strengths." '
-> why would a kid forced to work with an outsider that has no training be welcoming?
    ' "So I hea

Let's talk sugar and spice.  (No the main character is not a girl)
At the beginning of chapter 1, the author puts a note in at the top saying that the first couple chapters are 'flowery'.  Personally, it felt like a child tried to bake cookies, but replaced half of the non-sugar ingredients with more sugar.
I put in a review after 2 chapters saying I didn't like it.  And the author replied back asking me to give chapter 4 a try.  And that's fine, I'm happy to give a story a second chance if someone (even the author) is willing to vouch for it.
So I read chapters 3 - 6.  (No, I didn't skip any)  And yes, some of the sugar is replaced with actual ingredients.  But it's still too sweet.  The people are portrayed too nicely to feel real.  Only at the very end of chapter 6 did the village elder feel real, and that's only because I started to suspect he was only being nice to the main character in order to use the main character as an unwitting pawn to defend the village.
If you want to give this story a try, but can't even get through chapter 1, go ahead and skip to chapter 4 as per the author's recommendation.
The other problem I'm having with this story is that I'm not tasting any bite to it.  The main character is not defying the heavens.  He's not unlocking the secrets of the universe.  He's not discovering the flaw underlying all current understanding.  He's also not getting beat up, falling in love/lust, or encountering impossible odds.  This cookie is bland.
Does reading that previous paragraph sound stupid?  I know I feel stupid writing it.  AND YET.  That's what we expect in a cultivation story.  Is it unreasonable to expect any of this in just the first 6 chapters?  Well...not really.  Most cultivation stories have thrown craziness at us by now.  And as much as I'm certain that craziness will eventually happen, especially with the damaged village info at the end of chapter 6, I'm not FEELING the crazy.
I wish the author the best with this story and I hope it tu

The book feels ...sanitary and polite.
The author acknowledged that he's using flowery language to excess but i did not expect what i found once i started reading. I read this other comment about the novel, before starting my reading, that equated the author's writing style to a 6yo baking cookies and using sugar instead of half the ingrediants making the cookies almost all sugar. At the time i saw the comment i thought "What is this guy even talking about?" Took me just 1 chap to understand what he meant. And understand it deeply. No text on Earth will ever need so many adverbs and adjectives. Dear author, leave those poor verbs and nouns alone! It reads like the prompt, "stretch these 6 sentences into a chapter, make it flowery" got fed into an AI asst. program. Now please excuse me as I need to go read some plain text, like my hair dryer's instruction manual or something, just to cleanse my pallate.
