In the Avalyne Empire, there is only one way to achieve greatness: exhibition matches. Those who possess the power to bestow god-given gifts known as Crests stand tall and proud as nobles, supporting their knights who wade into battle for the sake of glory, victory, and honor. Knights and nobles alike study and train at Avalyne Academy to hone their skills and participate in academy-level matches, all while forming lasting bonds to become fully-fledged pairs.
Among those students is the so-called "strongest knight" Medrauta, yet despite her title, she hasn't managed to win a single match. Instead, she's impressively racked up over two-hundred losses within the course of the very first month. However, when she's faced with the prospect of expulsion due to various circumstances, her life gradually begins to change.
As Medrauta struggles to truly become someone worthy of the title "knight", she gains new friends, hope, and experience.

- CancerxHiTRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great read, violence, Yuri love, super powered bs, hilarious tropes.
Has good grammer, has well fleshed out characters that have a plethora of goals motivations and issues, has a strong focus on showing the story and not telling everything through conversation.
The side stories took me a second to appreciate before I realized most of them are relevant to the story.
Fun stuff hope to see more from this author. - Lemon snakeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very nice story.
Great world building, the lore is deep, there are a lot of twists and surprises. The whole system around crest, nobles and knights is well fleshed out and no discrepancy so far.
On the character side, the side characters have their own roles and don't just get thrown away, their relationship with the MC evolves and gets affected by the changes the story imposes.
Now, the Yuri part, it's very cheesy and I LOVE IT. Don't expect any ultra NSFW stuff, it's more of a cute and wholesome kind of relationship. The build up is convincing enough and it's not a "I fell in love immediately after I've met you situation"
The MC is OP. VERY OP, it's undisputable, but it plays a role in the story and gets explained later.
I do have the issue with the main villain, to avoid any spoiler:
let me just ask one thing : "why?". Maybe author wanted to make it as mysterious as possible and develop this part later..
Overall, it's a well paced, well written and interesting Yuri type of light novel, and I will be following closely the new updates etc for sure. - Perdition BridgeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The first chapter gripped me from the get go. It was action packed and the author's prose was descriptive and flowing. I could see the promise and potential in this work.
Crest of the Strongest Knight is a yuri. While I don't usually read the genre, I had no issues with how the author represented the romance. As long as you aren't the type to self-insert, I don't expect you to have problems either.
Grammar:
Hungry sheep's grammar and prose is impeccable. The battle scenes are chaotic at times especially when there are multiple opponents but the flourish is captivating and should be highly praised.
Story:
I am being slightly generous here in awarding 4.5 stars, but I do it because I see the potential. I get the sense that the author wants to focus on the action pieces and romance, but world-building and context adds flavour.
Vivianne's resonance and crest confused me as well as other readers. I can see the author tried to clarify this, but more can be done here.
There are also mentions of tradition - but what are they? Why did Med assault the aggressors (nobles) directly in one chapter, while ignoring them in the next? Often, I was at a loss on why characters reacted the way they did - which leads me to the next point:
Character:
I was again generous in awarding 4.5 stars but I see this more as a failure of world-building. There were a few opportunities and scenes that were glossed over - that could have really established tension and drawn out Med's personality according to different challenges.
By neglecting this, my impression of Med was unlikable and irrational, and the sad part is that this can be easily fixed with a few rewrites. - placeholdererRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story follows, as the title says, the strongest knight: except, she's only exceptionally strong on her own. Whenever she tries to use magic (which requires resonating with the "crest" of a magic user), she fails and therefore loses her matches.
At its core, this is a mixture of F/F romance and mystery in a fantasy setting, so far only hinting at the greater plot beyond the characters' struggles of figuring out their personal relationship and place in the world.
The mystery comes into play through Medrauta's (the "strongest knight") past, of which we only get small glimpses and hints every now and then so far. At times, this was rather confusing for me personally, since I couldn't always get a grasp on the characters' thoughts and feelings. This, in turn, left me unsure whether I'd missed vital information, whenever stuff from Medrauta's past came up.
If I as a reader am confused by something happening out of the blue, but the characters aren't confused at all, it stands to reason I'm missing information, right? It required a little suspension of disbelief to get through these parts, but ultimately the story did come back to give explanations. I just would've liked a little more insight into the characters' reactions at the time, which would've let me feel less left out.
The relationship between the two viewpoint characters is very sweet and fun to read, and so far definitely the highlight (and focal aspect) of the story.
The writing is top-notch with the odd grammatical error here and there. The only thing I found a little bit grating are the odd "fufu"s and "ahaha"s, where I would've preferred the characters to emote through description instead. But that might just be a personal preference :)
It's a very original story, ultimately, so far with a definite focus on the individual characters. I suspect things will turn toward a greater plot in time. I honestly don't even need a huge overarching world-ending plot; watching the characters figure out their personal s - pineapplepepperRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Hmm, what do I say here? The concept was pretty good, and the writing is also neat (at least in terms of English). But I feel like the story doesn't flow properly, as if something important's missing. It doesn't captivate me the way good stories do. All in all, a decent read, but definitely not a favorite.
