Description

Before the cursed sweaters, the rituals, and the chaos that would one day be calledthe coven, there was just Sophie—pastel-clad, wide-eyed, and emotionally unprepared for university life.

Then came Neen. Quiet. Grounded. A little too good at tea and too good at seeing people. Maybe it was friendship. Perhaps it was something else. Sophie never got the chance to find out.

Because then came Juno. With eyeliner like war paint and confidence like a storm front, Juno turned one soft night into a morning-after full of waffles, weird tension, and one very awkward triangle.

Told in flashbacks, fourth-wall banter, and years-later commentary,Coven-ishis a queer, chaotic, not-quite-love story about the messy beginnings of chosen family. There’s no magic yet—just a lot of tea, accidental longing, and the moment you realize your future coven is full of people you’re not sure you should love… but already do.

This story has some very odd prose in both descriptions and structure. The dialogue also dips in and out which has this awkwardness. The relationship issue becomes this back-and-forth emotional drama with strange asides with these short sentences and characters reacting to everything, even this issue with a sock being 'emotionally charged'. The reactions do not feel realistic or like they are coming from a place of mature characters. The structure of the dialogue is unconventional and it is weird, particularly with how the italics come across as commentary on the story.
