Description

In a world where the VR game Thirian, a fully immersive VRMMORPG, long ago stopped pretending to be just a game, Jen Dawson—nearing fifty—has built an empire.

Her alchemy shops span kingdoms. Her potions sell faster than they can be brewed. She stands alone at the top: unaffiliated with any guild, untouched by corporate hands. But her real reason for joining Thirian was never about success. It was about her son, Josh—the only place he could walk without pain was in this world.

Until the guild he once trusted uses him as a pawn to reach her. And when he refuses, they exploit legal bindings to ban him from the game permanently. Jen is ready to burn her empire to the ground if it means bringing him back.

But fate has other plans.

She wakes up fourteen years in the past. Thirian hasn’t launched. Josh is just a boy. And this time, she’s not just here to build. She’s here to dominate.

With her future knowledge, she lays the foundation for a hidden guild her son can one day run to—a fortress in the shadows, beyond the reach of greedy guilds and corrupt elites. To make it real, she enlists the only people who ever proved loyal: the Robin Arrows, a young, independent crew led by the fiercely guarded, sharp-tongued Lea.

They don’t trust guilds. They don’t need help. But Jen doesn't need their loyalty—just their strength.

And yet, what starts as business begins to blur.

Because while Jen builds a kingdom in secret, she’s also fighting the pull of a woman too young, too bold, and too dangerous for someone with everything to lose.

In a game where guilds rule, corporations hunt, and secrets power the world itself, losing control might be the most human thing she can do.

Expect character-driven plots, slow-burn LGBTQ+ romance, a mature lead with a young chaos-ensemble, and a relatively new author figuring out worldbuilding, fight scenes, and magic systems as she goes—help, I’m drowning in lore I can barely keep track of!

I really like this story and I hope to see more of it. It’s a unique take on a popular cliche of the MMORPG setting.
usually these kind of stories tend to fall apart after a while when the main character starts developing herams and/or does the sigma lone wolf routine. Cringe is the main enemy of stories set in video games and it’s a lot harder to avoid that you think it might be.
I’m happy to say that this story isn’t one of them. It Has so far successfully walked the line by keeping the story dynamic and side characters engaging.
The main character is an instant win as well and a unique archetype for an MMORPG based story.
the plot is ‘tight’ and flows well so far. The only concern I have is the hope that the stakes can keep up with our heroes. They can’t have it too easy!
    I’m keen to see more!
