Description
A little monster with a big heart and an even bigger appetite. Sentience came quite suddenly to Suri the slime, leaving him with an insatiable hunger and a vague memory of pretty lights and lots of magic. He finds forest of his home is crawling with shambling, humanoid monsters possessed of an appetite for magic that would put even his own to shame, a fact that he’s sure is completely unrelated to his arrival. With his first evolution—Guardian Slime—Suri is given his purpose, and when he finds the local human village under siege from the shamblers, his path is clear. Protect people, eat stuff; what more could a slime ask for? Threats lurk around every corner. Pestilent magic spreads the shamblers’ curse far and wide. Harpies and other monsters fight for their very survival, and a dungeon sprawls beneath the land, poised to swallow unsuspecting slimes into its darkened depths. With danger on every side, can a tiny slime make a difference and save the people he cares for? Expectations: - Monster evolution - Dungeon crawl leads to dungeon control - Healing slime - Found family - LitRPG skill grinding with cultivation rank-ups Sensitive Content warning for mild depictions of slavery and descriptions of mental illness.

- AllenShakeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Early impressions ofConsumer of the Fourth Anchorarevery promising.A definite must for fans who love monster evolution and organic growth, there is not enough out to see where this story will be going at the moment, but the way evolution ties into what the slimeeatsand how it interacts with enemies gives a real unique progression texture early on.It’s still early days, but the core of this story: a tiny, hilarious, ravenous slimegetting stronger by literally eating the worldis already compelling. If the evolution mechanics and creature interactions continue to develop with this level of clarity and charm, there’s a lot to look forward to!

- CynicalOrangeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So I've been reading Consumer of the Fourth Anchor and honestly it's a pretty fun time so far. The MC is a slime and the cool thing is they actually feel like a slime, not just some dude who got isekai'd into a blob. There's this weirdness to how Suri thinks and experiences the world that just works.
It's not a heavy LitRPG by any means. But the progression still hits that itch because the evolution system ties into what Suri eats and fights, so it feels natural rather than gamey. And the whole vibe is pretty comedic.
The characters are solid. Suri and Dorin's dynamic is great, and I appreciate that neither of them are stupidly overpowered. Side characters have their own stuff going on and don't just exist to prop up the MC.
If I had to nitpick, the very beginning is a little slow since Suri is barely conscious at first, so it's hard to get invested right away. But once it gets rolling it really gets rolling.
The writing itself is clean, barely any typos, easy to read. Worldbuilding drops enough mystery to keep you curious without dumping lore on you. It's still early and there's a lot of room for things to develop, but the core of it is just a really good hook. Worth following for sure. - andreighinea1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0[Revised after chapter edit]
Overall, if you think you'd enjoy a slime protagonist who gathers allies to fight against a common foe, while retaining their slime quirks and personality, with a touch of humor, you should give this book a try!

Writing style seems alright to me, and it makes you feel the main character really is a slime, with some thoughts humans wouldn't normally have. The scene changes show multiple viewpoints of the story, with unique experiences for each character.
The story is unique, showing a slime who bit by bit discovers how they came to be and what their purpose is, in a world on the brink of an apocalypse, challenge after challenge. The progression System is simpler than others, with only the important aspects to keep you immersed in the world, but it still categorizes their abilities. It takes the concept of a slime protagonist from Syl [A Slime Monster Evolution LitRPG] and goes with it to the extreme, as the slime feels more like a slime than a human. You can feel their struggle while facing down challenges, and I really hope the author keeps this up.
The characters all feel unique in their own way, have their own struggles, and progress in their own way. The protagonist and their friends seem to have adapted their views in a good way, and even the other side characters show unique personalities, especially when comparing different races. I also enjoy how the slime isn't a pushover and doesn't tolerate certain behavior from people.
I haven't noticed any grammar issues with the book, and it's quite easy to read and well written.
Material ideas for the Lord's boots:
Wyvern/drake leather (tough, heat-resistant, maybe enchanted). Would be funny to see interactions with Dorin :))
Giant spider-silk reinforced leather. Could be used with any leather to reinforce it maybe.
The boot Suri ate was from Chrysoar hide, so I suppose something similar could work too, like Basilisk leather.
Or, to match his "sour-tasting magic", somet - jalarus01Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far the story has progressed swimmingly with good attention to character development, an attentive author keeping typos/ errors (not that i have witness much at all of these things present in the current chapters up to chpt 15), and is keeping any POV switches to manageable amounts with coherent switches. TL;DR Really good new Slime story full of great tempo adventure.
- rafeeqRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Slimes are cute and Suri is cutest one there is
I am big fan of taming slimes such as rain purified them into adorable city cleaners in delve or myriads of ways they are used in by grace of gods anime
Suri the protector of humans and harpies and eater of rocks . I gave him a title . - warbirddeathRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Im not to good at writing... or speeking good english. But this author is. As far as I have read in this story it is imagitive and light hearted. I thought it would be a ripoff of that popular slime anime but so far its completly diffrent. This story feels like a breath of fresh air.
- MagicTurtleUltRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A pretty comfortable read so far. Good premise and good prose, so smooth sailing. Excited to see where it goes.
...forgot i need more words.
I enjoy the characters, but thats expected from me since I've enjoyed VLR (the other book on here by this author). Its definitely not the same wheelhouse but fun anyway. It features interludes again, which I think are always fun, but no lore bits at the start. But honestly that fits this story better anyway.
I wouldn't call it a deep litrpg or anything (no tables in sight) but it scratches the prog fantasy itch for me so far. The inclusion of people pretty early on in the story is also nice for me and let's me feel like the story is already starting without spending 20 chapters hunting wildlife. (Which can be fun at times...but not always for me.) - Editing by KatieRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Felt a little slow in the beginning. Because Suri wasn’t really sentient it made it hard to feel grounded in the story, but it’s turned into something really fun and unique!
Loving Suri and Dorin’s relationship and that they aren’t eye-rollingly OP. I’m also appreciating the other POVs that we get occasionally to open up the world a bit. Each is a fleshed-out character with their own motives. A really good story! - indiejones428Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5It’s nice to have a sentient slime that has slime sensibilities. I also like the more complex view of monsters having their own societies and motivations. I’m looking forward to reading more about Suri’s adventures with his friends. Well, I hope it’ll be plural friends as I read farther along. Good world building that leaves me feeling like there are mysteries to be solved and so much more depth to uncover.
