Concubine 999 is a gem of a political thriller dealing with so much of the terror and stress of being a pawn in a much greater game.
The prose is readable and pleasant, the characters are lively, and the dialogue is believable.
Perhaps most important to me, the story doesn't get too caught up in it's own lore while simultaneously providing glimpses into a far deeper setting.
All in all I'm looking forward to each new chapter.
