- Leo PanellaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love how the mc is not op. This world is so weird, I can't wait to read more of this story. A pity it's only at the start, I wish there were hundreds of chapters already.
His clone ability is cool, one of the abilities that i wish I had.
The only thing that i don't quite like is the system of this novel, but it's just that i don't like system's at all, so it's ok - NegsBetilRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0And a system that makes sure each clone can do more than be a mass of bodies, hell yeah this is like a wet dream.
Also love how the clones are more carefree than the Original it's obvious when you think about it they know they're clones so they don't have to put on a front,
[Minor Spoiler]
Unlike the Original who thinks the reason he shouldn't do arson is because the Magic Police will work harder to find them but he says they shouldn't do arson because it's bad and worse than robbing them. - bbjessebbRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's good so far, the litrpg elements aren't big boxes but still impactful. The MC has realistic responses to a horrible situation, and is already showing a bit of character development this early. He puts clear effort into achieving his goals while also showing how hard it is to be alone for long periods of time. Looking forward to more
- BabbaprimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't really have any complaints, I mean it could use some polishing but so could every story. The systems in place are clear and concise, the MC has an interesting situation. He's definitely going to be overpowered but it comes with a cost he has to work around, his power to this point feels earned not given.
There is a compelling set of short term goals and some foreshadowing of a longer term plot. Its not reinventing the wheel but I'm definitely looking forward to more. Unless something changes drastically I'll be here for the long haul. - DondokinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm a sucker for low-powered, high-potential MCs and the Boons/Curses that the protagonist gets are perfect for this. I've loved the idea of clones ever since Naruto, and honestly the underpowered MC is the perfect person to explore this idea.
The plot and progression is great. I also think you get a good feel for who the MC is and his struggles are very grounded.
My caveat is that the dialogue can often feel wooden. It's very expository and a few times it reminded me of the Skyrim opening. People will say things for our benefit as a reader, but they aren't things I would expect someone to actually say. - Rhok GehrigRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The stink of desperation makes for a poor perfume. Alex could end up being a good look into personhood. Will you recognize yourself having done anything it took to get what you want? To avoid being taken advantage of, or survitude, how much power would you pour into a unique ability even as it changes what it means to be 'you'? What if the Ship of Theseus was a man? Is the many still whole, no matter how much its mechanisms and mechinations change?
I will admit I always look for the best in the stories I read. I would read a story from a non-native english speaker learning the language from a Hondoran-Albanian steel worker if it made me think about my own culture or character. I really do hope this story takes a deep dive into what it means to be a person as Alex changes himself, or others change him. If anything... the comment section should be rowdy :) - ProtocolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good, Alex is a character we empathize with and he is very clever with resolving his problems. All of this makes the story an exciting read. It feels a bit like the universe is out to get him but I know even real life can be that way. Where nothing ever seems to be in your favor.
- HegelundRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0the power leveling is fun and the litrpg elements are of the "lite" variety, no big blue boxes and no constant [active skills].
there's a concerning lack of side characters though, the main character Alex is very alone. It creates this feeling of Alex being on his own with practically no one to rely on, but himself, in a depressing society where the absolute poorest are kept poor. that being said i'm over 20 chapters in and alex has no one to talk to and i suspect this will get a little tedius soon. There also arent really any "friend" candidates in the story yet, but there have been a bunch of situations where they could have been introduced; a lot of the power leveling segments could have had interesting character moments, but didnt.
semi-frequent but pretty minor grammar issues here and there and you can kinda tell it might be written by a non-native english speaker, based on a couple strange word choices. that being said i still enjoyed it and the issues were minor enough to not really bother me, it's better written than A LOT of bad stuff i've found on RR and NU.
there's a good variety of plot and challenges to overcome and it doesnt seem to be slowing down any time soon.
keep up the good work, i'll be reading :) - Astral464Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I love the story and concept and really recommend it I can wait to see what happens.
I would have really like for him to have thought of sending his clones out different gates or going out and the leaving the Coles to fight till they die on the outside regularly going to give them food.I would love to see what type of class he gains, maybe something generic but it's overpowered because of his clones. - Briar MossRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5As the story progresses the plot details start to seem pretty glossed over. Overall, an interesting premise that is a fun read though.
What is this "mom's illness", it's the main motivation but the endless descriptions as "medicines" and "illness" without ever elaborating.
Sure, mc isn't a doctor, but we don't even know what the medicine is doing for coma mom.
At this point I'm half convinced he's dosing her with medicine for an artificial coma.
It's just super weird how vauge it is.
Also, the "only rich people can buy medicine" law sounds like a good way to have an erruption of epidemics right before you go to war. Only really makes sense if they plan on abandoning the poor to starve to death, which, food riots are no joke.
