Description
Zhang Cai, named Zhang by the streets and Cai by his master, embarks on a long and meaningful quest after his master's shadow to learn more about the world and himself, both as a human and as a cultivator.
Another story I had in mind for sometime. I've been trying my hands at many different genres and art mediums, so this is my serious attempt to culminate the wisdom of them all into something that I can say I need to do. Please do enjoy.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge](Cover art is public domain.)

- RoberthSliRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Following an RR criterion, here the evaluation.
Style: As the title of the review says, the protagonist Zhang Cai is taken as an apprentice of an eccentric master and his initiation into the world of cultivation is different from his peers. His master, a wise and powerful practitioner, is an adherent of Buddhism and veganism (nothing against), and "forbids" him to kill. Unique and innovative style, different from the protagonists addicted to killing or used to death that we see so much, let's face it, it's already boring
Story: First the complaint, Zhang Cai got into the secrets of the cultivation society very early, although it was well done, I still think it's bad, with the dragons there, crazy is advanced.
The story revolves around the quest to reach his master and the problems along the way. As the synopsis says, a way to discover yourself, different from style: be weak -> join a cult -> be bullied -> low profile -> find a technique or reach a new level in the current one -> defeat the enemy -> be weak... It's a valid format and I have no doubt that good quality stories use this scheme, but creating a freer style of exploration and discovery, not necessarily enemies, is interesting.
It's not my native language, so in grammar I have nothing to complain about, and it's readable.
The protagonist is different, as I said, a pacifist in a violent world, of course as a reader I would be a little annoyed with him. But it's unique and interesting enough for 5 stars. - The God of WarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like how the protagonist has been written. His character has depth and he comes across as a real person. He walks and acts like someone who has had it tough in life.
The story has a simple plot, where a disciple is trying to reach his master. The master wants the disciple to temper himself through this journey. So far, Cai's journey has been pretty interesting to follow. I'm excited to see what comes next. - AFoolsEscapeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I quite like the story and am glad, the author resumed the story. It's nice seeing the MC changing, growing and sometimes regressing as a person from what he experiences in life, while also influencing those he gets in contact with.
Along with that, there is a good amount of mystery, plus I suppose political drama happening in the background that makes the world more dynamic, and leaving the reader guessing.
