Very unique and powerful story. Not for the flowers and rainbows crowd. This is the rise of a King, not the struggle of an uncertain hero complex looking for validation at every turn.
Do not go into this looking for mercy and inner peace. Kingdoms rise and fall at the death of thousands. Heroes leave all their allies dead in their wake.
    Love it!

The hero is a character that is normally on the side of evil, yet he was raised by good people so he has a moral code. It's a very interesting twist on the modern super hero style stories. I would suggest reading the author's other story here on Royal Road as well. Both stories main characters should be villians in the normal run of story telling yet the stories are so well written you understand and root for them.
