Overall: as someone who does not typically gravitate towards litRPGs, I loved this. It was fun and fast-paced and sarcastically witty. This is one of the first stories to actually cause me to laugh out loud.
Style: the writing story was direct and clear. Each sentence came with purpose, which moved the story along at a brisk pace. As many other reviewers have said, this story is extremely witty. Not just the thoughts of our intro character, Lorelei, but the third person narration as a whole.
Grammar: as said before, the writing is extremely well-done and digestible.
Story/character: as I am not partial to LitRPGs, I am not quite sure of the genre's tropes and such, but this story managed to hook me and I will be reading more. The action was well-written and fast-moving, with certain absurd word choices that elevate rather than confuse the rather absurd situation that Earth is in. You learn just enough about Lorelei to care for her and the rest of the characters are introduced so cinematically that you cannot help but wonder what role they will play in the future.
Other: reading the descriptions of the classes felt so meta, I loved it, and the irony within the story is not lost on me. "Our vast and vibrant System encourages you to cultivate your abilities in harmony and peace." Wow!

Lorelei's adventure kicks into high gear almost immediately, and devolves into a chaos-filled scramble for survival filled with witty humor, a poor protagonist that probably should have put a bit more consideration into her class choice, and a system with an attitude.
Style - I absolutely adore the system messages. Not only are they hilarious, the extra work the author put into styling them really makes them stand out on the page. The few class descriptions in particular had me laughing and sharing with friends. I docked .5 star because while I can appreciate that the use of simile helps paint a very vivid picture, it might be a bit overused in this instance. Combined with the non-stop humor, it's just not to my taste.
Grammar - Any problems I encountered stemmed from the fact I am American, and this is written in British English. Just a few double takes, words with an extra 'u's in them, words I had to look up, and puzzling colloquialisms.
Story - While the overall pace is a bit too fast for my preference, at least in the first few chapters, anyone who likes a funny, action packed story will probably enjoy giving this one a try. It also does well sprinkling in hints of the larger goings-on, without completely pulling back the veil of mystery.
Character - Lorelei is very entertaining character to follow along with. Fun, flawed, and filled with sass. We have not seen much of side characters, but if the few we have seen are any indication this story will be filled with a multitude of stand-out personalities.

A regular human resources guy gets caught up in a regular book (not to be confused with reality) situation of a world being remade by wacky aliens with a system, AI and in all those stampedes. But how is it all described? The author himself, at the same time as the readers, sets such a bar of impossible tasks that your jaw from open mouth hits first your knees and then your footpads and you have to wonder how the MC will get out of it.
What touched my heart, five stars for extravagance, complex convoluted plot, and the author's masterful intolerant and bold humor, southern accent and laughter at human resource and not only Nazism deserve a separate respect, but there is no such nomination... Yes the main character is not the main thing here at all. It's the environment. The crowd around: monsters-mob, teammates, gods, aliens-obsessives. Each character is so tipped with non-surprise that the brain explodes from the power of the author and yells, what is he there evil use? Give me the same pill, or preferably two! Nurse Necromancer stripteaseisha, geez I won't spoiler, enjoy the bikini and ringlets (lace panties?) in my opinion Kriss is the best thing here, but there's also a charismatic charismatic healer Chris who needs to be punched in the face. And don't ask me or the author why! Ask yourself, would you like something special?

Ok I won’t mince words, ………. F…..g amazing. I have seriously not stopped laughing since chapter 3. All it Needs is an audio book with the narrator as Robin Williams.         P.S oh and a chapter titled:Help me help you!!!!! 1000% worth reading. I am not even halfway through and I am already hoping book two drops tomorrow.

This is an incredibly well-written story from the start. It honestly deserves more love. Every character shines within moments of their entry. I think it would be a challenge for this author to write a boring character. Each one is lovable and memorable, regardless of their role. Lorelei is a relatable mc who is just doing her best with the insanity of everything. The style feels like a British action comedy. It's full of charm, wit, and personality that explodes from the page. I laughed out loud on a few occasions within just the first five chapters.
One thing that sets this story apart, especially in its genre, is how effortlessly it draws the reader in. Many stories tend to get bogged down in lengthy expositions, but not here. Even the occasional info dumps are laced with humor, making you actually look forward to them. The world comes to life around us as the MC experiences it. This is by far one of my favorite stories I've read on Royal Road. The story doesn't take itself too seriously and, simply put, it's just really fun to read. I'm excited to see where this story goes. I'll be adding it to my recommendations and favorites. Bravo!

Grammar: I will start things off with the most important aspect of any story (in my opinion), which is the grammar. If you’re like me and bad grammar wards you off, then I am happy to say that this story’s grammar is very up to par. To put it simply, it’s stellar. There are absolutely zero mistakes from what I could find and the author’s use of words are very diverse, showing their deep vocabulary.
Style: The author’s style is the absolute best part of the novel for me. It’s hard to explain in words, but the narrator’s style feels personal and somewhat immature (this is a good thing). It feels as if the narrator is your friend, cracking the occasional joke while explaining what’s happening to the reader. It’s such a fun read, I honestly envy the author’s ability.
Story: It’s hard to rate an ongoing story, but so far it’s pretty good so far. The pacing is nice and the system isn’t intrusive. One of the things that I worry about in this genre is when the entire chapter is just a stats screen, however, that does not happen in this story, which is a plus for me.
Character: The main character is fun asf and I really like her abilities. The system is also pretty funny as well. I actually love when author’s create a system that feels alive rather than just boring text on the screen. Honestly, the system here is one of my favorites in terms of personality.
Overall, Chance’s Gambit is a funny, beautifully written story with one of the best and most entertaining styles I have ever read. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be reading more.

Was not sure what to expect, but this is hysterically funny, have laughed out loud many a time.
There are a few typos but I cannot spell so no real complaint there, but other than that is an awesomely funny read.
Well worth taking a chance on. Looking forward to see how this story unfolds. Author keep up the great work and thanks.

Chance's Gambit is a fun and funny story. Lorelei, the main character, has a really bad day when she gets fired and realizes she has almost no personal stuff at work. Her funny and sarcastic thoughts about her situation make her easy to like. The irony of her firing email being the same template she created adds a pretty clever twist. The opening chapter really succeeds at setting the tone for the rest of the book. It mixes a lot of humor with Lorelei's down-to-earth personality.
As the story moves on, Lorelei's life gets even crazier when the world changes into a strange system. Her talks with the System's Guide are super funny and full of snarky comments. Lorelei's confusion and frustration with her new powers, like the random results of her skill, create some excellent laugh out loud moments. Despite the craziness, she adapts quickly. Her battles with Steve the Orc and wolves are described really well. It mixed humor and action in a way that kept me hooked..
The introduction of Chad and Jeremy adds more humor and depth. These two characters, part of a hive-mind species, provide a unique perspective on what's happening on earth. Their confusion and polite but snarky dialogue about the unexpected violence add to the story's charm. This chapter also hints at the larger cosmic implications. Yes!
The grammar is overall excellent. There are a few minor typos and tenses occasionally shift, but this is an easy read, and most won't even notice.
Lorelei's grows as a character throughout the book. The emotional dampening she experiences is a pretty clever plot device. It also explains how she deals with the increasing violence. The story also highlights Lorelei's internal struggles and doubts, making her journey more relatable and engaging. This is a funny, well written story with only minor grammar issues that don't distract from the overall enjoyment. Lorelei's journey is filled with humor, action, and unexpected twists, making readers eager. I was only going to read the

This story is an absolute blast! It's about a girl named Lorelei who suddenly finds herself in a magical world filled with crazy creatures and powerful abilities. But here's the best part - the story is really funny!
Lorelei is a cool character. She's not perfect, which makes her feel like a real person. She cracks jokes all the time, and her sarcastic comments had me laughing out loud. Even when things get intense, she keeps a positive attitude and doesn't take herself too seriously.
The world is super imaginative too. Lorelei has this special "luck" power that lets her do wild things, like healing her enemies by accident! There are all sorts of weird creatures and magical abilities that pop up, keeping the story exciting and unpredictable.
But what really makes this story stand out is how easy it is to read. The writer has a fun, casual style that draws you in immediately. They explain the magical world piece by piece as Lorelei explores it, so you're never overwhelmed with too much information at once.
Every character feels unique and memorable too, from Lorelei's quirky boss to the snarky magical system that guides her. By the end of the first few chapters, I was totally hooked!
If you're looking for an entertaining adventure with plenty of humor and imaginative world-building, you'll love this story. It's an easy, delightful read that will keep you laughing from start to finish.

First things first: I like the writing, I like that the story isn't set in the USA for once, or even some global capital with some cultural sprinkle on top. The protagonist is nicely complicated, the system and class is interesting. I like that the character is well into middle age, with lived life. Too many seem to be just graduating from high school. It's nice to follow someone older.
That being said: everyone in the series is  almost without expection a shitty person. The protagonist is extremely ruthless HR professional, who has apparently gotten all the way to the European Court (iirc) to defend the company's (doubtlessly immoral) actions against her fellow employees. By all hints, she would have gladly served at Auschwitz and defended it as "just a job".
I love this. So often books take the wish fulfillment of "taking the high road", by not taking a morally suspicious job, or quitting it in rage. But in actuality most people are just concerned by day-to-day, without thinking what kind of "system" (pun intended) they're part of. And even when they do, there's something to be said about survival.
Then the protagonist is backstabbed in office politics, fired, and to top it all: The System gets initiated. This leads our protagonist in a moment of self-reflection/momentarily madness choosing a luck-only class after "playing it safe" in HR for decades.
Alas, with the class every punch made, every step made is a roll of a die, a performance for an AI wishing to be entertained, with the protagonist's life on the line.
This all very psychological horror. And again, I like this.
The larger context for the story is horrible too: the worst or humanity has apparently killed the rest. And the System itself is ran by a giant bureaucracy where employees fear not only for their work, but for their life itself. As above, so below.
And the highest echelons of the System administration don't know what's happening on the ground, speaking of love and peace while enabling the worst
