I've been reading since I was six. In all the years since then, it's hard to find anything that keeps me riveted like this book did.
I've never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I probably never will after reading this book. I simply don't think the show would compare to this book.

i'll be perfectly honest I have never once in my entire life even watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
It's a very well written time loop story with an emphasis on the psychological element of impermanence.

I think this is an amazing fanfic. I would even go a step further and say that if we change the names and add a bit more details, it can become an original novel that could give the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer a run for its money. However, where this fails and Buffy succeeds is not plunging its reader into a pit of despair.
In any novel, there must always be clear winning conditions in a sense... this novel gives you no such winning conditions. Even if you win, in this case getting Buffy to love him, the novel has already turned her into someone not worthy of loving or being loved.
There must always be a character that defines clear winning conditions, even if that means dying together. This author has done such a great job fleshing out all the characters that they are too human, meaning they all have a disgusting pit somewhere in their character, making them unworthy of becoming the winning condition.

So it's a journey. It takes some time to get into and he's a bit scummy with his cheat at first, but he's a teenage boy and he grows out of it when he can. Anyone who says they wouldn't be a little questionable with his cheat in a time loop is a lier. My only regret is his lack of costume diversity. I mean why not Odin after merlin and a dwarf. He literal was a god of magic and runes with immense wisdom. or Moriarty as a perfect complement to Sherlock Otherwise 5 by 5 ;)

Everything about the story was top class. No issues and it basically kept me with cliffhangers everytime I had to put it down for real life.

This author just keeps getting better and better in his work. I was an avid reader of his Naruto Fanfic and when what was put on pause I started following his new story "CoA." Now Buffy was something I haven't thought about since the early 2000's, and i was super surprised by the choice, but man oh man. The characters are amazingly written and the actions and dialogue is superbe.

As a fellow Xander fan I too felt the hurt from how they totally back-tracked every bit of character growth he goes through and season 6 was just plain character assassination, just cuz Someone couldn't see the character he modeled after himself surpass himself in real life. This is the story of Xander that I always wanted, but didn't realize till I read it.

As someone who has neither seen the original series this novel is based on nor read fanfiction often, I can 100% attest that, by God's great holy beard, this novel is amazing from front to back. It has everything you could want from the tags and more. The characters feel real, and emotional substance isn't just thrown under the rug either. The story is phenomenal and requires no knowledge of the original fiction it is based on. No grammar or spelling errors were there that I could notice. I literally binged this novel for straight days like an addict because of how fantastic it is, and by the time I was finished, it hit all the best story points, satisfied expectations, and completely blew my socks off from how on the edge of my seat I was at points. Even if you don't know the original fiction or dislike fanfiction content, I beg you to believe that this is a real gem of a novel and implore you to read it. You won't regret it.
