Violet, the princess of Cardan, lives isolated between walls and memories — daughter of a broken king and a queen killed by an enemy she still does not understand. Kael, brother of the king of Espadaris and commander of Cartara’s most feared army, carries on his chest the burden of victory... and guilt.

When the old Council of the Seasons is summoned, politics and tension between the kingdoms resurface. Secrets emerge, alliances are tested, and amid exchanged glances and unplayed cards, Violet and Kael find themselves at the center of a new war about to begin.
