Description
Carnage... This name I gave myself...The last human being...The first dragon...The first carnivore...The world as we knew it no longer exists. The Gods, the sky or the creator...whatever. After a solar explosion and a good dose of gamma rays, all humans and most animals disappeared. With time, all traces of civilization disappeared. But the Gods, tired of our conflicts or wanting to finish once and for all with evolution, decided to replace our way of life by a magical, fantastic universe. Populated by elves, gnomes, dwarves, goblins and all sorts of creatures born spontaneously by magic, the moon, flowers and dew, like fairies. A paradise.Me? I was a scientist... I knew... There were plenty of signs... and I went on expeditions, stole relics from another age and by the power of science and genetics I made the crazy bet to transform myself into a dragon. When I woke up... Everything was gone, replaced. So I decided to avenge those billions of sacrificed souls by devouring everything I could. Gods included. I am the first and only carnivore...

- SiliconWolfRoyal Road★ 1.0STYLE: Style is something that most stories don't screw up. At least, not for me. So my 5/5 score isn't some deeply analytical calculation. It doesn't break the story, so it's good.
GRAMMAR: I originally put in my review that grammar was fine. I can only apologize and admit that I delayed reviewing this story for a few weeks. The author messaged me and tried to explain that I'm misunderstanding his story. So I had to reread the first eight chapters to pull out quotes from the story to show what I was unhappy with. Having reread the story, I'm dropping the grammar score because it's clunky English. Which is understandable, as English is not the author's first language. But it's still clunky.
STORY: Story is the spot where I put the plot and the worldbuilding. And what I read ...well... the worldbuilding caught my interest. Or maybe it's more accurate to say the idea behind this story's worldbuilding and plot was interesting. The plot was not interesting, and the worldbuilding only seemed to become more contradictory as things progressed.
CHARACTER: The main character briefly caught my interest. But as the story tried to flesh out the main character, things stopped making sense. And this happened for all the characters, not just the main character.
We have total war against everyone....until the main side character shows up.
We have perfected races....until the main side character shows up.
We have no war or knowledge of it....until suddenly we do.
We have harmony....until a delivery is late, then the hate speech comes out.
In other words, the author dropped down a generic descriptions on the characters, the world, and the peoples in it. They described a utopia. And then expected the reader to accept that the author lied about pretty much everything once they were ready to build specific characters.
In summary: is this a good story? Maybe. I'm just tired of being lied to.
