- BullerRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0That title is a joke by the way. I have never actually seen the show, save for the trailer and the opening. This here is just what I expect from it, the setting being the very stereotypical school setting, with characters able to beat your face in if they would ever need to.
There are also animals. Anthropomorphic animals. Furries. Whatever you want to call them. There are also humans, sure, but they are apparently rarer than unicorns(don't know if unicorns are also a living being in the setting but whatever). The main characters of the story are all non-human. Honestly, the first chapter has comments up fur-stylists. You gotta know what you're coming for, when you begin reading this stuff. I personally don't see it as a negative thing, but others would likely want to look away from the internet after a few words.
There are also tropes. And cow-women. Only one of those will be mentioned in this review again. From the setting alone, it should be clear that this story doesn't do too much to put itself out from the standard format. We have pretentious rich people, an apparent noble history attached to an school, and character personalities that fit with pretty much every other MC in this setting. Again, this is not a bad thing necceraily. It's all about how each reader looks at it. I see it as a okay thing. Others might see it as hell on earth. Entirely subjective.
Style is a bit weird at the start, due to weird structuring and tensing. Author has commented that this evens out well enough later on, but I haven't read enough to fact check that. You have been warned.
Grammar, on the other end of the spectrum, is much better than what you would expect from this kind of stuff. I found one obvious error, throughout the first three chapters. When you mix that in with the fact that each chapter has about 8k words, and this suddenly becomes a whole lot more impressive.
Overall, this is some good enough stuff. Liked the words. 5/5 from me. - SophoclesRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0The fact this story doesn't have atleast a 1000 followers is criminal. The Mc is very interesting having a dichotomy of shy apathy and savage beastial instincts. The story gave me some beastar vibes with its animal school setting and wolf mc but much more interesting in my opinion. The author is great at revealing mysteries slowly and uses vivid descriptions when describing characters appearances with the only downside to the story being the formatting and spelling errors which can easily be solved with grammarly.
- pelvicthrustingmywaytoheavenRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0grammer 9.5-10 detail 9.5-10 story 9-10 side character progression 8-10. honestly i like the story a lot the plot is devoloping at a good pace. but i feel like there not enough pages coming out. but if it jeopardize the quality of the story its not worth it to put out a 100 pages and the grammer and story is donkey π©Β . butt yeah its a lovely story
- AlaqiRoyal Roadβ β β β β 4.5First of all, this is not my favorite kind of story. But still. I liked it A LOT (just enough so that if I am ever bored this is the story I would choose to read)
I haven't seen anything like this (but yet again, not my type of story so I don't go looking around for it). It's unique It's easy to follow, it's exciting, and puts you wondering what will happen next. That's how the story is made.
"What happened?" What will happen?" those are the questions that you will notice you are making while completely immersed in the story.
The chapters are long, but you do not even notice that. You just keep reading and you get stuck in the narrative and the amazing non-interrupted flow. Time passes by while reading this.
It's a slow pace. No doubt about that, but it carries lots of information in that small amount of time. The author clearly knows how to keep the reader stuck to the story while feeding him information for future chapters.
I was not able to notice any flaws/mistakes/typos whatever, but I'm no expert on that field and as such, cannot really talk about it.
All the characters that showed up seemed real like they weren't there just to develop the MC. They are natural in their dialogues and fit perfectly with the scenario of the fiction.
All in all, it's the perfect story for someone that enjoys this style, and definitely has the potential to become a well-known, thousands of followers story. Even for those that do not like this kind of genre, it is still good for a casual read. - John FongRoyal Roadβ β β β β 4.5This is just Beastars but written by a competent author. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.
Let me explain why.
The grammar is flawless, yet the style is lacking. Most people would want to slap me for a seemingly contradictory statement, but to those people, I pull down my pants and defecate all over the floor.
Beastars was a constant injection of amphetamines every update. In comparison, this story is a trickle of cocaine delivered right to your prefrontal cortex, but there isn't enough to be satisfied. It's overly wrought and delicately crafted, much like a fine designer drug, but the pacing shoots the high in the knee caps.
There's an interesting dichotomy of predator and prey delivered in an all-too-familiar academic setting, yet I feel like it isn't delivered fast enough. This could use a serious thwack with a genuine editing hammer because while the base content is good, it's stretched too thin. It needs to be packed closer together. This may be because of my personal distaste towards slow burn, but I feel like the genius could be condensed into a much neater, tighter package.
This is genuinely good work in the making, so give it a try and see how you feel. Maybe you'll be more forgiving than me. - penoveRoyal Roadβ β β β β 4.5I'll keep it simple for new readers, but this is a pretty good book! I won't spoil much, but I will say the chapters are a tad long for me. They are filled with good content, but it took me a while to get through them, although I'm a slow reader who inhales every detail, so maybe it's just me.
The MC is nice, not too generic and generally a decent character. I'll just say that since I won't spoil too much.
The jokes land, and a couple (like the broom advertizement) made me laugh out loud.
Overall solid and I plan on reading more when I have time!
