Description

In the tides of struggle and power, who can reach the ultimate? In a world of factions and species, who can attain power? In a land whose past is obscured by the naivety of the present, who can uncover the hidden?

Karl lives in a world of species and evolution, his path thrust upon him without his consent.

Cannons, rifles, shard armor, legions, knight cities, and hive cities. Injections, grace, blood, evil, and ruinous gods... The world has forgotten a soul. A soul whose coming is unpredictable but sure like the mist.

Karl has awoken, and what path will he leave behind? Would it be the same?... Like before?

This is the story of the "Son of the fallen empire" or is it the living error? Or perhaps...The reaper!

I managed to catch up to the nov, which is currently at chapter 84 I think. It's pretty good I dare say. Worth a read for those who want something fresh, with potential, and having the possibility of being peak. If you like books like LOTM, epic fantasy, or something just a tiny bit dark, then try by the blood...and finally, 🙌 Glory to the warrior god. And also, the religion is also very nice to see how they interact with the world. This is a second review, so i decided to make it advanced. Anyway, the novel has certain similarities to Lotm, at least in the power system kind of way, but not that they are the same. If anything, they are very different and the only relation would be that both requires the Mc to drink or inject himself with something.
The characters seem fleshed out, with the author using various POVs to show a character's thoughts and desires. But what I fancy the most should be the world. There is a wide variety of it, and one can even notice the places the author took inspiration from; like warhammer for the overall cities, stormlight, mist-born, and elantris for the culture, and many others that I don't know where they came from.
Yes, the start might have started kind of weak, but that quickly changes after chapter five or so. Action is clean, there are unique powers, and the Mc is a very weird person. He's not like a typical anti-personality type and mostly seems to blame his actions on his muted emotions. But that just sounds like nonscene to me. In any case, the world is awesome, everything is great.
So if you have any plans on reading this, please do, it's pretty good. At least, it's nothing cliche.

Alright, came again to give another review. Also the book has gotten a lot more interesting, though there is do many world building that it might get confused. Also the power system is quite intricate and diverse that many might think it's confusing... spoiler alert: the power system involves magical or mystical creatures or simply anything in fact, and something called grace. By mixing grace with potentially anything and digesting or injecting it, one involves into that thing. Say you take a lion's blood and mix it with grace, the evolution will give you abilities related to the lion. This abilities are known as components. And there are physical and mystical components; physical affect the physical body, mystical affects the soul and so is the more magical aspect of it. There are also other things like perks gotten by moving up classes, many factions, four or maybe five continents, lore and many other things...so now that am about chapter 97 or so, the book is very interesting. Also the author has his own version of law of attraction of beyonders called vortex. So again, if you like lotm and vast world building, come read by the blood. And the author has other side stories of the book in his discord. I've read so, and it's pretty interesting. It has some world building; places I think the author does not want appearing in the main story but still wants to write.

Again another review. The book got increasingly better, and the current arc or events seem rather promising. So I can strongly recommend reading by the blood. Don't let the first chapter fool you, it's a very rich world with world-building, characters, and a unique power system. And although the tone might change a lot, the premise remains the same.

Well i hope the pace got up a little more but it is a good novel overall if you liked LOTM and Reverend insanity than i recommend it (well maybe after it getting more chapters that will be a better read because there is not much that was uncovered about the story that will make you hooked on it but it have that potential and that's why i'm still reading it)
