Lovely book, enjoying the read on patreon and it's lovely to see how the writing quality of the author has improved since the start of chrysalis!
The character feels real, as relatable as a fantasy character can be. He also makes decisions which feel justifiable and logical. I love how he builds the world with different pov's

Great story, love the setup so far. The world seems interesting and the MC seems intelligent. The approach towards necromancy is new for me and seems fascinating. But the story is a really slow grind so far. And the only bad part of the story is the slow release frequency :(.

The story is promising so far, the world is a standard fantasy LitRPG setting with semi randomized starting classes with an added mix of multiple god factions that seemingly have a propensity for meddling. The MC seems meek but has a prideful and ambitious self hidden just beneath the surface and the class system looks great.
I have a weakness for Necromancer's or just Undead stories in general so it would not take much for me to fall in love with a story in that genre. I just love that these stories usually come with kingdom building / army management to complement the power fantasy. I also love seeing enemies turned into undead and made to fight their allies. I'm just gonna preemptively give this 5 stars.
I love you Gandalf and I hope you don't eventually drop this.

I've read all the content available for Book over the dead multiple times.
And every time is just as magical and enthralling as the last
The world building is superb. And has only gotten better as time goes on.
Character motivations amazing. They don't seem to act in ways that feel un-natural based on my perceptions of their personality type.
I'm not sure if the original iteration of book of the dead is vastly different to it's current iteration or not. I didn't get the opportunity to read the stubbed chapters and have read them via Amazon Ebooks.
But I feel as if Rhinoz is growing and maturing into an amazing author. I look forward to reading more content authored by them.
I'm new to the "litRPG" genre and I am not disappointed nor do I find myself wanting
I am however hungry for more
Dove is also annoying yet endearing. He is simultaneously my least favorite and favorite side character.

Pacing is on the slower side in my opinion, but you really see the intricate care RinoZ puts into this world with the sheer volume of details. The MC quite literally earned every shred of power he has.
I would highly recommend this novel to people who enjoy the slow grind.

Book of the dead is a necromancer story unlike so many others, the magic is complex and not cast effortlessly, the author is putting great effort into developing the personalities as well which really pays off for the readers. The grammar and language used are excellent, there are zero disruptions to the reading flow, neither language nor content wise.
As the story is still in it's initial phase it's impossible to know how it will progress, but from what I have read so far and considering how RinoZ's other Story  Chrysalis has developed I am certain that I will be able to add this story to my all time favorites, not only because of the grammar, language, smooth writing style, intricate world building, interesting characters, exciting world and dark themes but also because of the content that the story itself will have.
(Because I have seen multiple comments and reviews mentioning that the POV jumps are a negative, I want to add that I really love it when the author gives us another perspective, especially when there is variety and I see this as a definite plus for the story.)

This is a fairly early review but I'm really enjoying this so far. There are a few parts where it's like 'goddamnit, communication with people would solve this' but that's actually pretty realistic.
It's well done, no major mistakes I've seen and a story I'm definitely going to follow for a while.

This is a very enjoyable system-world story, where a young man is given the forbidden necromancer class and is struggling to adapt and level it while remaining hidden in society.
So far the world seems consistent, the character motivations are understandable, and there are few spelling or grammar errors.
I'm excited to see what this story becomes.

TLDR: A-tier progression fantasy with strong motives
(this one's not about an angsty teenager swearing revenge on his classmates cause they ganged up on him after a goddess rejected him... I think)
    Style: 4.5 / 5 Pretty good.
Story: 4 / 5 Solid. Not going to lie, I skipped parts regarding a specific character towards the beginning because I didn't like them, but the story definitely has its high points. And it's quite interesting at present (currently reviewing at the end of Book 5). I can easily see this score going up in the near future.
    Grammar: 5 / 5
Character: 3.5 / 5 Tyron is ok. The progression is fun. His feats and actions are super interesting. And his motivations are shown, not told. But Tyron himself is just alright to me. Not bad, but not great. This might be because (spoilers: do not click unless you're up-to-date
Tyron doesn't like talking to side characters. He would rather research for days on end. That in and of itself is not bad, but it gives all the conversations he has with those characters the same undertone. And that gets a bit stale (and makes him a bit unlikeable). I loved Tyron's interaction with Master Willhem. But now Tyron (who acts semi-dead) mostly interacts with his dead (who are dead). I just hope the evolution of his dead minions will bring back more of their personalities.
). Aside from that, Tyron is driven, intelligent, and gifted. He's definitely more than interesting enough to make the story enjoyable.

If there is one plot in the fantasy genre I do not like, it's 'Let's outlaw things that people have no control over doing or having'. Its a waste! Here, it is worse than the normal 'I was born with outlawed magic/ magic type. Its an outlawed class that no one has a choice over and may or may not be controled by the gods. And this makes the gods look stupid. And I can think of many ways to make the so called 'outlawed classes' actually work. Like, you know what works probably better against necromancers than priests? Other necromancers!!! And if other contries want to take over? Necromancers!
While some characters are intresting and complex, most of the people seem heartless and two faced. You'd think that the people who cared about the MC would tell him about his friends... Or he would have more of them. Like, strangers are kinder to him then people who have known him for years!
And now here I go picking things appart:
    1. Why didn't they brand the outlaw classes to control them? The slayers have slave brands. They have to follow their vows right? Or the orders given to them by the people in charge. Simple freaking fix! They either cripple or kill them. It's a waste!
    2. The gods are either sooo dumb or they are arrogant. Yes, I am including the dark gods here too! The gods of light are worse though. Who's bright idea was it to just... Let the child of some of the most powerul people actually fighting to protect  the empire from invaders fall into the hands of dark gods? And then ignore a priestess who went above and beyond that is also friends with the guy to also fall into the hands with the dark gods?
    3. Either the gods of light are too merciful towards the gods of pure evil or they are using it to drumb up faith. They are playing stupid games in what sounds like already troubled times. What, do they have a 100 year quota for a necromancer or dark lord?
    4. Do they not tell people about the brands on slayers? Besides money, who would willingly join them? Its practia
