Description
When a Great House falls, chaos follows.
Rowan watched as a betrayal from within destroyed everything he’d ever known, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. His home burned as an Archdemon ravaged their lands, summoned into the very seat of their power by forces unknown. Unawakened—without access to the System and its boons—Rowan was left as the only survivor of a magical lineage spanning millennia.
Resigned to a life of obscurity and bitterness, he could only watch as the other Great Houses carved up their lands and fought over the carcass that was once his home. Yet in the end, that obscurity saved him.
On his twentieth name-day, Rowan finally Awakened.
Granted a [Trait] of unknown power, a [Title] of unimaginable weight, and an [Item] of untold worth, he leaves the dangerous north and takes the first step on his Path. But even on the other side of the Kingdom, the echoes of his past linger. The passes his family defended were left unguarded for too long. And now, the ever encroaching Wilds threaten more than just the north.
Follow Rowan’s story as he attempts to master his magic, fight against the largest monster surge in generations, and hopefully, uncover the truth behind the fall of his House.

- PotassiumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is still in its infancy, but it is showing promising signs. The System is well built, the Main Character is interesting and we have secondary characters that’s are more than just names. There are few to none grammatical errors and misspellings. I will continue to follow this fiction with interest.
- VickylalaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a breath of fresh air to find a MC in this genre that isn't a whiny, socially inept, brat. He appreciates and understands team work and friendship?!? He's not a rude sheltered moron? Well written, engaging, and significantly better than most of what I've read on here with a similar concept.
- KeNNzorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just have to write a review for this work. All I can say that this in an incredible breath of fresh air and the author has outdone all expectations. This is a story that invokes such a feeling of wanting MORE.
The pacing is perfect, almost at no point did I feel that is was dragging or that I can skim through lines. Every word, every line and dialogue has its place and gives you info that you want to know. The occasional pov switches do not feel redundant and are short enough. They add the perfect amount of outside view, to see how people who do not know MC's mind view him as.
The story makes so much sense, with enough mystery and extremely fleshed out scenes for combat and also daily life. It pulls you in and makes you feel as if you are there, seeing their struggle and joy. The characters for once, are incredible. There are the stereotypical greedy and "bad" people, yet they are so human. They can admit mistakes, they do not cross any boundaries because at the end of the day, they know they are all in it together to fight against monsters. The MC also can acknowledge their traits and see that they are not beyond mercy or forgiveness.
Finally, the power system. I am IN LOVE with it. The way body and core cultivation is separated, the way they still come together to form a whole. The way skills and spells are categorised and learnt. The author did an absolute amazing job with the whole thing.
No matter what, read this. You cannot go wrong. The story is still in its early stages but very rarely have I seen such a perfect start. This has infinite potential. I sincerely wish the author the best and if he has a way for me to support him, I will do so with all my pleasure. - crua9Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a good story. The pace is just right, and the story is interesting. It is pretty hard to find any faults in this one as far as I can tell.
The only down side IMO is I wish the bird was used more. Outside of the bird being used as an interesting point between things, I'm not sure why there is so much attention on why to level the bird. But giving the MC is talking about leveling the bird. I'm thinking we will get an answer to this. As mention, it is hard to find any fault in this story. And if it wasn't for the 50 world requirement, I wouldn't mention anything about the bird. - CtateRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This book caught my attention right away. Very likeable main character with a good team atmosphere. Reads fast paced, kind feels like a guilty pleasure while reading. I have been reading since single digit chapters and can't wait until the next one drops. Beginning of a very interesting world and can't wait to read more.
- MjphdcRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Read up to chapter 15 at this point. So far the story is great. MC is not ridiculously op, not starting out with ridiculous super items and the choices so far are handled for the most part logically.
The cast of characters seems good, with realistic choices being made by the main group.
Only real issue I have so far is the really bland blue boxes, this might be addressed in the future with a skill or rank up, so maybe this is intentional. But the information in them seems fairly unimportant.
I would maybe recommend having a level/core/skill rarity table at the start of the book because much of the information we start out with isnt explained well to this point.
Anyways keep up the good writing. - casio8888Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5So far I like the story very much. The world seems to have thought put into it, the descriptions and writing style are my cup of tea.
The MC has his strengths and flaws and they are both introduced and expanded upon quite well.
The supporting cast is likeable and the first few martial and social clashes are understandable in the world.
Only the many advantages of the MC might be a bit of a dampener at the beginning, but the real Danger the MC encounters/throws himself into still manages to make reading interesting. - rsa2048Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Pretty solid overall, with MC showing meaningful emotions, decent team dynamics, and somewhat rational decision making (some room for improvement here)
- Rowan is dangerously generous, beyond what I would consider reasonable for a character flaw. He laughs it off when his friends loot his apartment (???), and gives the city defense crates of high-end potions for free (rather than loaning them). Sure he may be ludicrously wealthy, but he's drawing tons of attention towards himself with handouts, and encouraging his "friends" to outright disrespect him.
- Complete Battle Maniac. At least the behavior is consistent (prioritizing spell practice over core development may well be the best VERY short term power growth, and the fire vents are justifiably better than potions), however I find it concerning how much Rowan is risking his life in battle when taking some time to advance his core could dramatically improve his survival chances. He needs to advance at some point, so why is he learning spells first rather than second (or mixing the two)?
I get it - meditation is boring. But it would've been nice to establish some sort of limit to core growth speed (meditation uses mana so max time per day, etc) rather than making the limiter "Rowan doesn't want to advance because its boring." It's ridiculous to be fighting at an unnecessary handicap that also raises questions about why you are at such a low level in the first place. - SuidualcRoyal Road★★★★ 4.04 stars. This novel has potential, currently waiting for more chapters to do a better evaluation. But all in all nice story setting, Character building is coming along well so far no complicated things about how the system is build up. I recommend to give it a go and see how it will go
- Goldenfinger1234Royal Road★★ 2.0I like the story.I like the characters but the one thing I hate is the trait it ruined the story for me. First it can stop mana exhaustion useful really cool next it can fast track the learning of spells by alot a bit much but okay. It now can nuke several monsters and give him a big stat boost. This broke me it was one of the biggest a$$pulls I have seen. Other than that I like the story, and its characters but that trait give me a concrete discription of what it can do so it dosen't feel like you're using it as a mcgguffin.
