Description
A miracle has been achieved: non-avian, Mesozoic dinosaurs have been brought back to life - not by a technical university or a government programme, but by a venture capitalist concern, for reasons of profit. The social, economic, and political ripples of this development will do much more than enable the simple launch of a theme park for the rich: they will change the world.

- CKJ5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is a neat concept written like a documentary or a historical text. It can only be classified as fanfiction because it does use and mention characters from the JP series, but it is very well-written and well-researched.
History is one of my loves, and I instantly connected with the style of this work. It is worth mentioning that the grammar is spot-on, making reading it a breeze. I enjoyed reading what they have so far and would be interested to see what the author could come up with if they removed themselves from the JP series and made an original timeline of events. - ChtaeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've had the fortune of reading a few chapters in advance as a beta reader, and it's great! It's a very unusual kind of serial, written like a non-fiction reportage, very detail-oriented. One could expect the result to be dry, but it's actually amazing, it's just so fun to read an intelligent, in-depth account of jurassic park spiralling into disaster. Also, I just love to see how an author who is actually knowleadgeable (and passionate) about paleonthology imagines the practicality of a Jurassic Park: all the cool, practical stuff about rising dinosaurs (and running a dinosaur-cloning corporation) that we don't get to see in the movie.
I just can't wait to read about the park's opening and the inevitable disaster (which I don't think will closely match the movie, it's ore an inspiration than a canonically accurate fiction), and I hope many readers will share my enjoyment. - Ellen TaylorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was an interesting read. This is a Jurassic Park fan fic, and the thing that always freaked me out about that particular franchise as a child was how thought out, realistic, and scientific it all sounded to my young mind. Like it could actually happen. Right now. This story has that exact same feel. It is well thought out, well researched, there's even links to real life pictures of real life dinosaur tissue. Absolutely fantastic!
Also I like how the author takes a lot of the source material, not just from the movie, but the books and video games as well, and yet still makes it feel like it's own story. Well done! - dum-tankRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all, I'm not awfully familiar with the deeper lore of the Jurassic Park franchise, so most everything I say can be rooted in "oh yeah, the dinosaur movie!" That being said, this is an excellent piece of fiction.
I don't want to be the type of reviewer who just hands out five star scores, and by no means am I saying that the story is perfect or for everyone, but I think it accomplishes what it sets out to do fantastically with enough style and panache to stand out. The polish and attention to detail is very evident.
STYLE
First, the (perhaps) weakest part: the style. On the one hand, it is the thing that gives the story the most personality, and for the most part is absolutely great. The images at the start of each chapter, the choice to write this as a pseudo-biographical account (at the point I'm at) of how Jurassic Park came to be really sells a diegetic feeling that we're reading a scientific journalist's account of what happened and what the consequence of cloning dinosaurs is.
However, I'm not sure how I feel about the footnotes. On the one hand, they do not need to be read to be able to appreciate the work as is, and they do help the real world author explain some of the details he places into his story. I also imagine that fans of Jurassic Park really appreciate these asides as commentary. On the other hand, being somewhat of a purist, I would rather these footnotes be focused on in-universe references or explanations. I don't think this point should affect the overall score, but it bugged/confused me enough I feel a minor ding to style is warranted.
GRAMMAR
The author really polished the manuscript. There's really not too much to say. There are a few (very minor) word choices I think might be changed for the better, but they aren't really distracting and arguments could be made to leave them as is.
STORY
In fairness, the author does have Jurassic Park and its history as a template to work with. That being said, the story is excellent, no matter the - Drew RoystonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is super fun and, despite nominally being fan fic, is is one of the more original storeis that I've read on here.
This is a story with footnotes. Yes, you heard me. The writer has done some real research to get this right and, even if they haven't, it FEELS like they have which is the important thing.
It feels like you are watching one of those documentaries that are narrated by Jeff Goldblum (reference intentional). That is a good thing, it is a story of a scientific journey that never actually happenend, but the writer does it so well that you think it has.
This is well worth checking out, and I look forward to seeing how it progresses!
