Description

In a world full of assassins, there are those who choose stealth and there are those who arrive violently and leave only a trail of blood.

Awakened to excruciating pain and torment, Trevor Brinkworth discovers he is an agent of Scalpel LP. The only problem, he has no memory of ever joining them, nor the multiple missions he conducted as their assassin. A neurochip implanted in his brain provides him with super soldier abilities, but with the blank spot in his memory also comes the discovery of having to start back at Novice - Level 1.

Trevor quickly realizes there is only one path to take, level up his skills and get back to doing what he did best. The long road of intensive training is ahead of him but when an old love interest reemerges, he dedicates himself towards being a better man and a better agent. No matter how hard Trevor tries to prove his past won’t define his future, he cannot shake the dark reputation which still looms over him.

Trever soon realizes the best way to survive in his new reality and get back to the love of his life is, shoot first, ask questions later. For every mission he is given, it always ends with bloodshed.

I’ve enjoyed every moment of this FPS rollercoaster, full of action and intrigue as Trevor with super-soldier, neural-link abilities regains his memories and has to grind to regain his skills. Even the most powerful character starts out as a novice. Great explanation of how the system HUD works. I love the dynamic interactions and dialog between all the characters—very life-like.
The secondary characters each have their own distinct personalities and traits that really bring the dialog to life. Pop-culture references are a great add-in for some light humor, but are not overdone, making it easy to relate to the character. There's definitely more humor throughout, both in dialog and internal character thoughts.
World-building includes amazing descriptions that engage multiple senses from the very start. The author does a nice job balancing vivid action scenes (from combat/martial skills training to all-out action) with internal character thoughts. Easy to read, and a page turner!
This fiction is well-written, with fairly clean chapters and minimal typos or grammar errors.
Overall, this is an awesome, action-packed FPS with missions that you don't want to skip out on! There will be blood. Looking forward to continuing the series and learning more about B2 and Scapel.

It's so refreshing to read a story that feels so visceral yet authentic. I'm hoping it keeps the same energy up, because I'm here for it in a big way.
I'd really love to see some artwork. The world feels familiar yet interesting enough that I want to know more. The characters feel very familiar to me in the first two chapters I've read. I'm definitely excited to read more.

Wonderful story about a man who changes himself for the better after learning about the woman he loves in his forgotten past and the actions he took to break her heart. People get their heads popped as well, but as we all know, HAMMER rounds are made with love as their secret ingredient so it's a romance novel goddammit don't pay attention to the screaming just cover your ears-

Having read TJ's previous work from his The Dying Breed series this is a modern and new take in his first Litrpg story.
I love the mechanics which have been developed. TJ's military knowledge shines through and I would recommend for anyone after some action. The description and intensity of the combat, makes you feel part of it. His writing continually improves and it has been a pleasure seeing his journey as a writer and his progression.
    Highly recommended.

TJ knows how to set the tone with his books, and that tone is DARK! I thought Callsign Bloodbath was going to be a fun LitRPG/LitFPS and what I got was so much darker. TJ tackles some serious topics in his books and those topics he handles very well. I will say this book pushed some boundaries for me but never crossed them. With exhilarating combat, an interesting system, and a group of unforgettable characters, this was one of my favorite reads of last year. If you are looking for your next read and want something dark? Yeah look no further. 5/5 stars. I can’t wait for this to receive a physical copy. Definitely Stats on Stats approved!

This Book is fantastic. It brings out my iner tape A personality. Maks me want to tell people to stop being a snow flake and God forbid act like the adult they are. Multiple times this book had me audibly laughing. Between the action, the humor and, the Realism. I loved every second of it. Definitely worth the read.

Awesome, I enjoyed the story. The side characters I feel were the best parts as well as the combat. I wanted to see Trevor more engaged with them haha. I can't wait to see you unleash Sasha. I see so many possibilities, most chapters pulled me to the next, I was always curious. I can't wait for the sequel
