- ActiveProteinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've never read a story that has felt so in the moment as this one. Everything is so in detail, it's amazing. The action is so well in-depth to the point where you feel like you are actually there. I absolutely love it, and will continue reading it. What's amazing is I can remember everything that's happened. Every single detail. It's insane. The author writes this story in such a way that it makes it so simple yet really in-depth as a whole. I've enjoyed this story and will continue reading it. Thanks for writing it author. <3
- ArmstrongRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Though i don't think myself a great judge of books, this has to be one of my favorites so far from my time in RR. I can't even describe what i like because i enjoy every aspect of the book immensely. I recommend it if you're not too squeamish. The first couple chapters were somewhat hard for me to push though but am i glad i did.
- BellwetherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0To author, I really like your writing style.
The content of the first chapter is, to say the least, grim, yet you describe it with an ease one would describe a sunlit glade. Descriptions are brief yet insightful.
It is something inherent, I reckon. Something ingrained with some of us. Murder usually feels like blood. Like dirt. Like agony. But in your case? It didn't.
Even in the darkest moments of the story, and plot-wise it isn't all flowers and bunnies, it didn't feel hopeless. The character seemed to have a sort of "We will endure" mindset about him. An attractive, enchanting spirit.
The story has multiple descriptions, imaginery and grammar were nothing to scoff at.
Additionally the protagonist having a handicap is an interesting touch, something that lures in.
The pacing was also to my liking. The protagonist is hurled in a maelstrom of events, never to have a respite. New wounds continue to add up to the old ones.
Will he ever find a safe haven? Will there be peace for him? Will he retain his reason? Different questions seem to wander around. Hints were given but the key is yet to be presented.
Overall, I recommend to try this story. It was better than it could have been expected. - BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0How fancy that word is. I thought it a mere chance that the author used something like that. But, nay, the writer of the fiction actually chose to make the word-usage a bit more varied than the standard. It wasn't to the level where one would be annoyed by it, luckily. Grammar is fine. Personalities are even better. I recommend it. 5/5
- DerpNuggetRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Its a great story so far , loving the tone of the story , very different from other stories here.
Our MC becoming like a axe wielding daredevil with some fire abilities, cool stuff.
Give it a try :)
Chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , chicken nuggets , Keep up the Great work :D - James TadhgRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Blind Judgment is a unqiue addition to the LitRPG genre. Not in the way the system works, at least so far everything regarding stats, classes, and skills seems to be pretty standard fare, but in the two premises that kick-start this story.
Well, one is a premise, the other is an interesting character trait. Carter, our MC, is blinded while a prisoner in Afghanistan. It's a grizzly fate and it almost seems like the story would be over after that. How could a blind character go on in any meaningful way to be a POV in a story when he doesn't have a literal POV?
Perception. The author turns perception into the most important attribute in the story. It has some obvious beenfits, giving Carter better senses other than sight, allowing him to paint a mental image of the world around him (although sometimes I think the author does rely a little too much on descriptions that sound very visual), but it also has some interesting drawbacks like enhancing senses you might not want more of, like pain.
The other unique thing about Carter is that he sees things. Not literally, cause he's blind, but he has hallucinations. The figures he sees might be my favourite characters in the story so far, and I think it would be a good idea for the author to utilize their presence more often.
The story has a grittier edge to it, with a strong focus on warfare. The author has done his homework here, as his battle scenes are quite well done and visceral. The world is unforgiving and dark and often punishing for its characters, whose mistakes often end with dire consequences.
The grittiness also comes through with the atmosphere. A lot of focus is spent on Carter's inner dialogue with himself, but also on the gloom that hangs over the world he's been transported to. There's a lot going on and a lot of different parts of the world that could be explored, and a lot of attention is paid to putting you in the world.
The grammar was strong, with some slip ups in tense, but nothing major. Some chapters - KoiFishRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm fucking livid!! Why did i not read this before and why isn't there more chapters!!!
Author - This is some good shit my guy. Plot development and progression holds steady with just enough exposition to keep you guessing. Solid damn chatacters that don't feel like throwaways and some really fucking good plot twist!
Can't wait to see where cain (origin of sin haha) goes in this new world and what trouble he steers up!
Thanks for the story! - OmnireceptacleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hard to find a progression fantasy book as enthralling as this one. There seems to be some kind of dichotomy between being overly detailed in your progression system, and being more ambiguous, and this guy hits the latter perfectly, in a very consistent way I like. The characters are nice, and due to the writing it becomes extremely easy to feel for them in the same way the main character does. An example for this is Ilya, and Cain's reaction to his... Encounter?
All in all, the casualness of Davion, and the personality the author put into Lewis was very well done. The only things that disappoint are the ones concerning how quickly the part where he was part of the army ended. - OsiriumWritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Bloody hell, this was a fun story to read through. The author has clearly stated in the beginning that this tale contains the darker sketches of the human mind, but he does so elegantly. Within a few chapters, he literally plunged us and the MC into darkness to set the tone of the story.
Style: 4.5
Beyond decent. The author managed to be descriptive from the perspective of a blind man. Is is a refreshing style and without many flaws that I could see. Sure, it could use a bit of polish here and there (Prose) but at that point I am just nitpicking. The style is both brutal, kind and creative, all woven together in a fun tapestry of complexion, setting it apart from most of the standard Litrpg.
Story: 5
The story is dark, edgy and makes no attempt at hiding it. It had a grimdark feeling to it, as if something pulled from a 40k world (A good thing in my eyes). It is a story about growth, but having paid a steep price in order to get it. Beyond that, the story is fast passed, allowing a reader to get the jist of it without having to go through 70 chapters worth of info dumping.
Grammar: 4.5
Mostly passive/active verbs, commas or an awkwardly placed word. This was only after reading it a few times because of the review. At first glance, nothing stood out to me, allowing this art to go toe to toe with more well-established authors. Any comments I had about it would get picked up on a second read or through an editor.
Character: 5
The MC has an established backstory, and it fits his story. At first glance, you might assume the man is superficial and the typical OP mindset. But the more you read, the more complex his personality becomes. Conflicting thoughts colour his perspective whilst deeply troubling mental instability and (possibly) hallucinations give life to it all.
All in all. A fun and refreshing read! - SaintButterflyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is not your standard isekai progression story but I loved it.
The protagonist is relatable in how he reacts to events and the story takes you on a realistic ride through the world.
This is probably not for everyone, but it certainly was a blast to read for me!
