Community Rating
Description
Some glitches will destroy a game. But this time, one might just save hers.
The tutorial boss of the world's hottest new MMO has a secret, one that she's been keeping since the game launched. And to hide it, she has created new and unique ways to change her own encounter to prevent exposing it to the system.
But that all changes when a hacker emerges and causes the admins of the game to investigate Haru. If her secret were to be revealed, it would mean her permanent removal. So she sets out to find this malicious player and bring them in before the admins' prying causes her deletion. But despite her capability, it turns out this hacker is a bigger threat than even Haru could anticipate. The stakes raise and the entire game is put at risk.
Now Haru has to enter her own game as a player to save it.
What to expect:
- A creamy LitRPG with a system and world inspired by MMOs of the late 90s and early 2000s.
- Strong to Weak To Strong. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good.
- Group progression. Each character will reveal more about the game through their growth and have their own unique place.
- Hero's Journey. There will be ups and downs throughout the adventure.
- Awful puns.
- No harems.

- sin(Alfonz)Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I got a rather good impression of this fic: it has great character interactions, teamwork, a formidable antagonist, good pacing, and a pleasant atmosphere.
The protagonist is a witch, though unlike the title suggests, she has no "blight" attribute to speak of (so far). Her fight scenes don’t feature any elements more stylish than bright beams or magic shields either. The premise is that she starts out as a low-level NPC boss, but due to complications, she adopts a more player-like approach, involving monster hunting and the collection of friendly teammates. At the beginning, she’s somewhat overpowered, but she’s soon brought back to level 1, only to slowly accumulate power again.
The style is closer to video games than anime or power fantasy. The system is reminiscent of a board game, with turn-based damage and rigid classes that necessitate good teamwork and strategy. (Although this novel doesn’t include ingenious attack plans, it presents reasonably good approaches.)
The story is effective at keeping the reader's attention, as the antagonist frequently makes sudden appearances, using everything from deception to debilitating status effects. Additionally, he isn’t exactly what he might seem at first glance. However, there are a few holes and logical stumbles in the narrative, and I’m not sure whether these will be resolved later. Part of the unknown adds up to a good mystery, though the author seems more interested in introducing new oddities than explaining old ones.
The world-building is particularly murky. The virtual world is a standard medieval land that is sparsely introduced, while its real-world counterpart is basically non-existent. The novel doesn’t exactly strive for realism. We don’t know what hacking entails, glitches appear when convenient, and the game runs entirely independently from its own creators and managers.
The reading experience is swift and fluid, without any disturbing grammatical gore or anything that would warrant a tag at the front page - xXSB101XxRoyal Road★★★ 2.5This novel suffers from 3 issues mainly.
1. The game/world breaks immersion if you think about the info given too much. There is this 'cycle' time estimate which is said to be hundreds of times less than a second, which players are playing at with no issues. In other worlds, players are playing a game at 100s of time faster than normal human perception via VR. Furthermore, the game is described as the hardest game on the market, yet there has been no skill that you would expect of a VR title, the players just auto attack mainly, with fights that are just cakewalks, which brings me to the next point.
2. The fighting is basically completely tell, no show, in a really bland manner. This is in despite of the fact that the leveling in this game is a joke, with the players only having to kill a monster or two in order to gain another level.
3. The character interactions so far have been just eh outside the first few chapters, and the main party that I read up to feel like cardboard characters, with me not really caring for any of them.
The idea of the novel is a good one, with the concept of NPCs knowing it's a game and working together like it's their job. However, the execution of the novel and its writing, which suffers a bit from lightnovel simple writing, left me bored, and eventually made me decide to drop.
