After a lifelong battle with illness, a young girl from Earth is reborn into the world of Pokémon as Peppa 'Pep' Carmine— the daughter of a prestigious family of Pokemon breeders. At the ripe age of seventeen, Pep's parents ship her off to the Sinnoh region, where she must attend classes at the elite Jubilife Trainer Academy. Peppa's parents have high hopes of molding her into a heiress that can live up to their expectations, but much to their chagrin, Pep isn't interested in what they think.

She's here to prove that there are no such thing as bad Pokémon-- only bad trainers.

Best of the Worst is a Pokémon Fanfic that takes place in the Pokémon world. (Though a few details about the world itself have been changed.)

This is not a dark fic, but there will be some potentially triggering subject matter. (Bullying, illness, etc.)

Give this story a shot! You won't regret it.
An ambitious, but well launched fic. Where Pokemon SIs are a dime a dozen these days, Best of the Worst sets itself apart by slowly creating a fleshed out Pokemon world that manages to give itself a sense of care and uniqueness to it.
The characters are quirky enough to stand out, but not overwhelming enough to seem fake or too trope-ish. The Pokemon are written in a way to give them a good personality without seeming too human-like. The conflicts between characters have been a bit on the nose with cliches and could use some work to be more believable as to repercurssions, but they arent enough so to turn you away from the fic.
The Pokemon world is one that has been written about many times before, but Best of the Worst's quality makes it stand out from others of similar length and age. The author should be proud of what they have managed to evoke.
All in all, a well done story that I am looking forward to seeing updates from. Something of this quality deserves more exposure and I eagerly await to see what the author manages to accomplish next!
As of 13/11/25: The author continues to show improvement and try different things with their writing. The story has managed to stay fresh and I still have this story near the top of my watchlist.
