Beers and Beards Book 4: Nothin' But Brew Skies
Community Rating
Description
All Pete wanted was to be buried in wine grapes. Was that too much to ask?
Now he's in a fantasy world, far from home, and stuck underground in the body of a smelly dwarf with fantastic facial hair. The worst part though? The swill that the dwarves are falling all over themselves to drink. Its flat, it's watery, and it has the alcohol content of a rancid coconut. Can Pete save the dwarves from their own Sour fate, or will he be forever doomed to plink his pickaxe away in hopes that he hits the mother lode.
Come for the cozy fantasy, stay for the beer puns that will leave you hop-ping mad!
A bubbly slice of life LitRPG with love, laughter, and a little melancholy, just like drinking a bottle of Whitbier on the beach. Has some monster fights but no real gore. No elves or harems allowed.
Updates on Wednesday and Saturday like clockwork.

- A.BelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As a fellow beer lover, I can heartily approve this fine brew of words. It has style, it has character, and a bit of stray hairs from the beard. The reading is light, a bit foamy, but with a deep flavor of a stout.
I didn't find any grammar problems, and who looks for them anyways? Not I. The pov mainly focuses on the MC and stays that way -- which I love.
The characters make sense, their motivations are clear. I feel with the MC and want to see him succeed.
The story sets out to be fun and light and does that really well. Nothing grim, nothing gorey, nor depressing (minus the first chapter, but you can't get an Isekai without breaking a few eggs.)
My only critique: the story is kind of predictable. A beer brewer dies, gets isekaied into a dwarf, finds out that the beer is bad in this world, so obviously he's going to be a blacksmith, right? I kid. It's obvious he'll set this place straight with great beer that everyone will love, and make lots of gold in the process. The story could also do with a bit more tension and conflict, but then again, if it set out to be more of a slice of life, than it should not be an issue.
Cheers! - BistreBlackRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A lovely tale with a very cozy vibe, I really like our POV most of the time and the cast is fun and varied. And I'm learning beer facts haha xD a nice bonus. I really like the latest levelling up chapters, a very good balance where nothing felt forced and character choice was paramount to progression. Thanks for the read!
- BrockSamson123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the unique story, a reincarnation adventure that's about saving beer rather than the typical saving the world plotline. The characters are likeable and the world has depth. Throughout the book is a great sense of humor. Overall a great light hearted read. I'm all caught up and can't wait to see more.
- Henry MorganRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm enjoying this story, the MC dies in our world and wakes up a convict deep underground. He then finds out he is a dwarf and that dwarves brew crap beer.
While you can see that the MC is grieving over his past family he doesn't let it rule his life and he mucks in to try and make a go of living his best dwarven life.
This fiction has beards, beer and dwarves. What more can you ask for? Give it a crack. - JahithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wonderfully quaint story about dwarfs, brews and dwarvish brews. So far has a slice of life feel even tho we are in the isekai genre. MC is not especially OP and as of chapter 19 has not left the tutorial area to embark on his main quest to safe the dwarfdom from bad beer.
Wordcrafting is nice and smooth. I had no issues imagining enviroments, people, fauna, flora and fungi. The story itself can work as a entry point into brewing, nomenclature and its history. This is an isekai for those who like to crack open a craft bear and relax while their fermenter bubbles in the background. - Leahcim ZanathaxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story gets two big thumbs up! This is a high fantasy, isekai/reincarnator story about dwarves and gods and BEER!
If you like any of those things, then you'll probably like this story. The characters are well developed, interesting, and have personalities that are recongnizable and different.
The grammar and spelling are far above average for RR. I've enjoyed the heck out of it. Read this story, I liked it ad I think most people will, too! - MaiLamRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have no particular interest in dwarves. I especially have no interest in beer.
Both of those things are irrelevant when a book is as well written as this one. As described by the author, this is cosy fantasy, but done with skill and the thing that often gets forgotten for this subgenre: conflict, as a propulsive plot device, and understandable motivations for the characters.
Instead of waffling on about various things this fiction does very well, I'll be reductive and simply say that this combines the charm of Beware of Chicken's main character with a wit in the prose that reminds me of Discworld. - McBlasterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It doesn't get too much into the brewing straight up but don't be disappointed with that.
Guy from earth whom was a Brewer and vintner dies from health problems. Reincarnated on Erd in a prison camp.
Dwarfs love their beer but are lightweights (who woulda thought). These drawfs have been drinking the holy brew as a staple rite... But it's only 2%ABV!!
He shakes things up but the old guard what it to not happen.
Nice slice of life. Good pacing. No real villainous characters. Just one meddlesome god.
Keeped me clicking the next chapter button. Give it a go I say. - Rann ThaneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great premise with an engaging storyline and characters. Love the comedic tone, Dad jokes, setting and structure of the story line as a whole. I found the first book by chance and became an instant fan. I didn't know what a Cosy Read was, but now I know. Its a breath of fresh air from typical fantasy works and very inventive without the "crap" found in modern works today. The characters are growing and evolving which makes for an engaging storyline. Keep up the good work.

Worth a try made me smile and snort on multiple occasions
