- Improving writing style as this is my first novel.
- Creating in-depth encyclopedia entries to enhance world-building.

This fiction is still in progress and I am constantly editing the chapters to correct my mistakes so please point out if you find anything in the comments.
Publishing 4 chapters weekly based on my availability as I like to read the chapter again before clicking on the publish button ^^.Tools that I use -Grammarly to modify my sentences and use synonyms.Google Docs to write these chapters(I use Google Docs in Chrome to take advantage of some extensions).

- rahulsharm1598Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Author has created an extremely gripping fantasy world that's elaborate and interesting at the same time. Characters are designed extremely well. I am hooked to the story line and I immediately want to read the next chapters. Action sequences are well described and character introductions are also very thoughtful. The journey that our hero endorse is fantastic, Main character is written extremely well but the supporting characters are fantastic as well. The character design for Augustus is fabulous.
Author kcreated an enthralling narrative that perfectly balances the excitement of a video game world with emotional depth. The protagonist’s journey of self-discovery and overcoming challenges feels both authentic and exhilarating. The supporting characters are well-developed, each adding complexity to the story. The pacing is spot-on, ensuring constant engagement. From epic battles to quiet moments of reflection, every scene feels intentional, making it an immersive experience for readers. The attention to detail in both the storyline and character design ensures this fantasy world feels rich and real. A truly captivating tale that leaves a lasting impression!
This story brilliantly captures the essence of fantasy and adventure. The plot, where the protagonist is transported into a video game, offers an exciting blend of mystery and action, keeping readers hooked from the first page. The world-building is impressive, immersing us in a vividly imagined universe with its unique rules and challenges. The characters are thoughtfully crafted, with distinct personalities and growth arcs that are both relatable and compelling. Each character brings something essential to the narrative, enhancing the emotional depth of the journey. Overall, it’s a well-rounded and engaging tale with a fantastic sense of wonder and adventure.
Thumbs up from my side. Waiting for the next chapters. - CoJoGoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a story that seems to get better the further you read. I highly recommend giving it a chance, and by that I mean by the time you hit chapter 23 you're going to be glued to a screen and slamming the next chapter button.
Style:
So far, things are generally written pretty well, and I've enjoyed it. Some of the standout chapters so far were the Iron Hand encyclopedia and the Nightmare. They're both great, and represent two different ends of the author's spectrum - focusing in on single-character motivation and action, and the wide lens that this story needs and will continue to use because of the scale at play.
Story:
Pacing within the story can feel a bit 'lurch'-ish through the first few chapters. I recommend getting a bit further in - past the first encyclopedia entry - to see things get to more of a 'normal' pace. There's also much more going on to pay attention to once you get further in. In comparison, the first chapters may feel a bit sparse, so again, I recommend getting farther into the story here to get to the real nuggets.
Grammar:
There are a few instances of tense switching and some minor formatting things, but overall a well edited story - and one that's easy to read. I did some chapters with RR's audio reader, which is usually a good test of how well something's been written. It passed that test.
Characters:
Augustus is a really straightforward MC. I enjoyed that there's no big 'have to get used to the world' stage, and his mentality is instead more along the lines of "Let's get stuff done". The characters around the MC that have story time are all showing development or don't seem like they'll be around long enough to warrant it. - GreathaddinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Spoiler Alert
If I had to tell this story is like a wine the more you read the more it gets better. I started reading it around 10 days ago and since then I've been mesmerized by the story.
The story is not rushed apart from a death of a main character which I thought was important apart from that I think the pace at which the story is moving forward is appreciable.
After completing like twenty chapters I've been spamming next chapters button quite a lot while waiting for new chapters.
Introduction to different characters is interesting I would like to see more chemistry between the characters like for example silvana finding a love interest and I really hope that this is not a harem novel where the protagonist will have multiple women at his side. Making this story a harem will be a crime. I'll update this review After reading more chapters.
I would like to see how this story will move forward in future
There are a few points that might needs some improvement like in the Starting the introduction to different empires is a bit confusing so there should be some more details as I feel. - KurrtRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thanks for writing this wonderful story about my favorite game, I like how you slowly bring the story into perspective and make it more interesting each chapter and I also like how you portray each character in different ways as well as how you make them different from each other but still they act as one.
- Lazy_wormRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The protagonist’s journey from leading a mercenary group to building a kingdom is engaging, and the companions’ unique skills and personalities make the story even more interesting. There are a few rough patches in the writing, and the pacing might feel fast at times, but overall, it’s an enjoyable read. If you like strategy, kingdom-building this is worth checking out! Waiting for the next chapters.
- LordAetiusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've never played Bannerlord, but it's on my wishlist on Steam, and so when I came across this story I had to give it a try.
The premise is a straightforward isekai into a game world. But within 5 chapters the MC is establishing a mercenary company and things are already getting exciting. I loved the Dark Age setting-the worldbuilding is probably the biggest strength so far. The litrpg stats are pretty light to this point, but that is deliberate and part of the plot, so it's hard to comment too much on them.
The grammar was very good, I didn't notice any issues.
I enjoyed the style. It is first person, creating extra emphasis on Augustus, the MC. You do feel like you are experiencing everything from his viewpoint. However, sometimes I felt this was over done and became too much tell and not enough show. I think the author needs to get out of the character's head a little more.
The focus so far is definitely on the MC which is standard for this genre. He felt like a fairly regular teenage character, and so looking forward I think he needs a good cast of supporting characters to strengthen the story. So far there are other named characters but they come and go too quickly for the reader to get invested in them.
The story is exciting with some great combat scenes already. These felt rushed, I think more page time could be spent on them, especially since the military side of things is going to be a core part of the plot going forward (I assume).
Overall, this is going in the direction that strategy fans would want it to. I think if the author slows down a little and develops the action and secondary characters this will be a great read. - Mister BillRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a lot of fun! I have played the game but I was never too deep into the lore. I think you can easily read this and not need a knowledge of the game.
It’s a fun read so far, very few errors, good battles, and I like the characters. Give it a read, for sure! - Narrin DawaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0"BannerLord VR" is an immersive journey that combines elements of adventure, nostalgia, and emotional healing. The protagonist, struggling with personal loss, finds themselves trapped inside a VR game that holds sentimental value. The story is filled with both tense moments of survival and introspective realizations, making it more than just an adventure—it’s a personal quest for a sense of belonging in a virtual world that feels far more real than the life the protagonist left behind.
Style: Mischievous Hund does a great job capturing the atmosphere of the BannerLord world, especially with the evocative descriptions of Calradia's factions and the game's marketplaces, but sometimes the descriptions become repetitive. The writing style is very immersive, drawing the reader in with detailed depictions and a rich narrative voice. The vivid scenery really helps bring the game world to life, and I appreciated the depth of nostalgia and emotional reflection. The chapters are a bit short for my preference, but with the rate of release it's fine!
Story: The story delivers a mix of nostalgia and a survivalist tale that works well for fans of the game. The protagonist’s journey is compelling, with the initial setup of escaping from their grief through gaming and then being trapped in the game world creating an interesting emotional hook, although there are moments where the pacing could be uneven. The protagonist's memories of family and the growing connection to the world of Bannerlord add emotional layers that enhance the standard "trapped in a game" trope compared to others I've read. My only small critique would be that some parts of the initial adjustment to the VR world could have included more active exploration rather than introspection, to create a stronger sense of wonder and danger at the start.
Grammar: The story’s grammar is excellent, with few noticeable issues. Sentences flow well, and the language is clear, making the narrative easy to follow, though occasion - R. C. VettaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While this is written as a fanfiction it reads very much like an original work. As someone who is not familiar with the source material I never felt left out or confused by the world.
The author must have loved the game this is based on as the level of detail is phenomenal.
Style- This story is written in a very go with the flow style. The main character knows he is in a game and makes the decision to just play it out. The way the story moves through the world is very smooth similar to when you've played the opening level of a video game so many times you can just seamlessly move from one point to another without having to wait for an explanation from the game.
Grammar- I did not notice any glaring issues. Commas here and there, but overall completely readable without having to stop and dissect paragraphs or sentences.
Story- The story is pretty linear which makes sense when you consider it is based on a real game, but the author keeps things interesting with his characters. Each new character adds so much depth to the story and opens up new avenues for different plots and character growth.
Character- The characters are the meat and potatoes of this story. I'm not sure if they are pulled from the main game. If I had to guess I would assume they weren't from the game, but either way they are fantastic.
Whether you are familiar with the game or not you should definitely read this book! - S.D. HussRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First off. This story feels extremely authentic to the source material. I say that because it is based off of Bannerlord the game. As the name suggests. Puts you through all the same stuff you would normally expect. Character creation, starting with a bit of food and a handful of gold, finding safety in numbers at the nearest town, and scoping out where the first arena is to nab some easy cash.
Style: The author’s style is very easy going. Each sentence and paragraph paints a clear picture for the reader, making it easy to keep reading chapter to chapter. Speaking of chapters. The author does a very good job with chapter length. They’re on the shorter side, but don’t waste any time getting to the good stuff.
Story: The story follows a nameless character at the beginning. As he is given a quick backstory and almost immediately immersed into a VR game based on Bannerlord. Well… it is Bannerlord, but VR! He quickly figures out that he’s stuck in the game, and even faster, decides that he’s ok with it. (Real life sucks anyway) The story progresses at a pretty brisk pace from there. He finds group to take him to a town to join an arena fight, they get attacked, etc. I’m not going to spoil it for you, it’s very much worth the read. Needless to say, it gets really interesting.
Characters: Not much to say about this. As stated above, the story follows a nameless character at the beginning. The author should think about changing that. His identity before the immersion in the game gives a certain weight that could make it even better. (Just my opinion.) He is later called Augustus, once in the game. And is a pretty interesting character.
Grammar: I’m not an editor, but it seemed fine to me.
Overall I am really enjoying this story. Its well written and engaging. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in Isekai/portal fantasy. Or anyone who loves the game, Bannerlord. I won't deny, it made me want to start my 100th campaign… Which I probably will after this review.
