This lizard is selfish, stupid, and hedonistic. I love her. You will love her. The world will love her.
Any time a new character, locale, or bit of the world's story comes up, Atzi wastes no time in giving her complete and honest opinion - which may be the complete opposite of the one she voices out loud. Asshole protagonists are a dime a dozen but Atzi is not actually malicious, wanting nothing more than food, women, and a warm room to enjoy them in.
Most importantly, these desires drive her and the story forward. There may not be much out yet but things are moving along with no meandering, and chapters stay focused without skipping any detail. This lizard's got legs, and she will trip over them and cry.
And speaking of story, it's definitely compelling - an interesting fantasy world with its myriad cultures, politics, and religion, all rubbing right on up against each other. I see great foundations here and can't wait to see where they go, especially once the time loop starts up.
Grammarwise, I haven't noticed any issues - good work! Language used has plenty of variety without that obnoxious feeling of just pulling things out of a thesaurus, which is always a plus.
You absolutely must see this lizard.

Atzi is a story about the gayest lizard to ever live trying to make ends meet in the capital of a divinely ruled empire. This is made much more difficult by magical cataclysm, looming war and her own poor choices.
Story: Obviously the story is in a very early place so far, but I do think that what's here is done well. The main thing to talk about is that we, the readers, know it's a time loop story, but so far we're only up to the first(zeroeth?) loop. So everything in the story, from throw-away mentions to more detailed incidents, has this promise of mystery to it, because we know that there'll be more to come later on. So while obviously how these hooks turn out later on in the story is undecided, I think that how they're placed and introduced at this point is done quite well. In particular, the elements of the fantasy setting are all very intentional in their inclusion and how and when they're elaborated on.
Grammar: Perfectly good, to the point where I'd guess there's a solid editing/review process going on.
Style: Atzi's style prioritizes readability very highly. Generally sentences are short and to the point and plain language is used even for fantastic concepts. Despite this simple-to-read approach, the story has a very strong *voice* to it. This is most obvious in Atzi's running internal commentary, but also in subtler choices about where to apply detail. Some guy telling a tragic story involving a chicken? Atzi summarizes it quickly. She sees some hot lady crossing the street? Atzi will lovingly describe her hair and clothes. This is especially fun when it's obvious to the reader that Atzi is not being honest with herself or should be paying more attention to things.
Character: As I just said, the main character has a very strong personality. Atzi is levels of girlfailure usually only found in the hearts of neutron stars. It is very entertaining to watch her bumble around, because while she's definitely very self-centered and hedonistic, she's also not real

This story is about a pathetic traumatized criminal who is ruining what's left of her life. It's great. The writing is really good and funny while also showing how bad things are for her. I'm very excited to see the actual time loops start. The world is very interesting and every chapter we learn something new in a non clunky way. Exposition is done well.

I love rooting for this dumbass lizard. She would have absolutely no hope if she where not in a time loop story where she can spend an eternity learning how to rub her two braincells together!
The slow unveiling of the world building is nice too. Having a dumb protagonist let's you exposit at the readers' level really conveniently!

Summary: High fantasy, thievery, goblin energy. This is a character driven story which is what I like. I am going to keep reading it, and think it deserves recommending. [Update 50 chapters later: it's gotten even better!]
Style: It doesn't get in the way of us getting to know the characters. At first I was a little put off by the italicized internal thoughts of Atzi, but after a few chapters I now think it's a great way to succinctly put us in her head, without having to read a thousand "Atzi thought" after those sentences. There have been a few short action sequences so far, and they are all well written. The prose isn't flowery or poetic, it's to the point.
Story: We don't know much yet! But I'm very captivated by the setting, and hints at the larger happenings in the world are all pointing towards interesting stuff in the future. There seems to be a strong attention to detail. Pacing is good. Really anxious for what'll happen when we get to the time loop. But also hoping it doesn't come too quick, since I want Atzi to have a lot of room to Do Her Thing.
Grammar: Everything's looking correct. I don't know what else to say. I get annoyed at bad use of language, and I'm not annoyed when reading Atzi. I'm only annoyed when the chapter ends and I have to wait for the next one!
Character: Atzi is absolutely great. Love her. A good story needs a compelling main character, and this lizard is compelling. She's so smart.
Summary 2: You should go read Atzi now.

This story, Atzi, is the story of Atzi, a clueless horny lizard.
She is way in over her head and explaining stuff to her is used to show the reader the world.
The city is in danger from forces she doesn't understand, with strength she can't defeat, and in top her personal situation which is just as confusing, and you're left with a really good read as you piece the events together.
Can't wait for the second book.

Style: Engaging and direct writing that doesn't call attention to itself except for when it's dryly contradicting Atzi or poking fun at her. Little to no purple prose. Third-person past tense, which I prefer, though that choice was a little surprising because I don't think we ever aren't closely following Atzi.
Story: A fun time loop tale that, at least for Book 1, keeps chapters fresh with a nesting doll of mysteries for Atzi to puzzle her way through. Because of the way the loop triggers, the story fondly reminds me of reading a Choose Your Own Adventure with how the various branching paths Atzi takes can end on a pretty grim note and send us back to the beginning.
Grammar: Top marks. I read the story months after it was initially posted and judging by the comments the few errors that have cropped up were fixed quickly.
Character: The story is aptly titled because Atzi is definitely the main draw! Charmingly dim and with hormones raging, it becomes apparent early on that she is going to have an entertaining way through every situation. Most other characters are memorable and differentiated from each other but I could have used some more frequent visual descriptions.

This story keeps getting better and better! The pacing is really great. Every chapter feels important and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Atzi is fun and horny and the author has mastered balancing a really compelling plot, with believable and flawed characters AND lots of fun light hearted action! It is great fun to see Atzi shake up this subgenre.
You should read it. You really should.
Did I mention that you should read it? You should.

i typically don't leave reviews, but atzi is seriously one of the best stories i've read, and not just on royal road.
    character:
the main character is incredibly endearing, and the side characters are fleshed out and have their own motivations. i can't say much about character analysis, but the characters seem very realistic to me. i also like how enthusiastic and optimistic atzi is; it's a nice contrast from other, more grim fictions on this site.
    story:
the story is really compelling, and the worldbuilding is top-notch. we haven't seen much of the magic system yet, but i'm sure it will be of the same superb quality as the rest of the story. i'm excited to see the international politics that caused the world-ending situation.
    style / grammar:
the style and grammar are perfect, and this is coming from the type of person to stop reading if i get annoyed at the writing. Varied sentence length, frequent line breaks, etc.; pretty normal and very readable. The onomatopoeiae are also fun. (ex: "Bugeh!")
i'll be surprised if, by the end of the story, atzi is not on the "best completed" list. at the very least, i'm very sure it will end up high on the "time-loop" section of this site. even now, in the story's infancy, it's still on the top of the second page. 10/10 would lizard again
