Assimilate All Talents

Self-Published

Community Rating

Description

At level 2, most people unlocked their first talent; those who didn’t were considered fortunate, as they had the potential to unlock rarer talents requiring higher levels. The world's most rare and powerful talents were revealed at level 5.

But what if someone didn't obtain a talent?

Luck quickly turned to misfortune as they were labeled talentless, with no hope of gaining a talent. Sol was one such person who was unable to unlock his talent, but he refused to give up. He persistently fought and trained every day, slowly increasing his level despite the disadvantage in skills. He held onto the hope that, one day, he would be bestowed with a talent like everyone else. As years passed, his determination began to wane until one fateful day.

[Talent Unlocked - [Siphoner]!]

This event marked the beginning of his story.

Things to expect:

-Protagonist that grows not only in levels but as a person.

-His main goal isn't power so don't expect him to rush to the peak.

-Complicated characters and stories with mysteries that aren't quickly answered. A lot of things happen for a reason and come back later.

-Earlier chapters have mistakes from me being a new author but quality greatly improves later on.

The starting has a few problems and reads like a generic monologue, but the author improves over time. I think first 50 chapter will attract those who want straightforward fantasy op main character, and might even put off a few because of its simplicity and naiveness, the nobel grows on you. I could feel the chapters getting better and better and author getting better at expressing the characters and their emotions. Worth a read. It is worth it to push ahead of those initial few chapters even if you have problems with the themes as author seems to have grown to be way better story teller.

The story in the beginning needed a some getting through, but once you stick with it you will be in for a nice ride along the adventure and progression train. And from the looks of it a lot more world building and power progression to go still. Looking forward to it!

So to start off with a lot of the spelling/grammar/tense issues that earlier reviews mentioned seem to have been fixed. I found the prose quite readable. It looks like the first flawed chapters have been rewritten.
It’s just a decent all around read. I didn’t find many glaring flaws that took me out of a fun enough read. The biggest problem I had was the way too long stat sheet.
It’s decent and a fun enough read. You should try it

It's always good to find gems like this one.  When a pilferer type skill is don't badly it can ruin the whole flow of the novel.  This is done quite well and I like the MC.  He very powerful and sometimes OP, but not all the time.  He has room to grow and explore his powers.  I like that not all the utility was revealed at the same time and he's finding out just enough to make it interesting for the whatever level of development he's at.  The support characters all have personalities that are defined and make sense for them, and don't exist just to move a plot point of the MC but are interwoven into the plot very skillfully.  Antagonists are not weak and him overcoming them makes sense and is not plot-armor-y. All in all, well done 👍🏾 ✅

i like lit rpg this is lit rpg it has a fairly cheap underlying concept of power stealing abilities but i think its done fairly well. very much a nice read to devower over the weekend. mc's abilities have developed pretty well so far  and im exited to read more when the book updates. its done a pretty good job at digging iteself out of the pit that is cliche mc backstories which is also nice

As the title says, the story is absolutely fantastic and the authors skills can be seen to be improving as he/she writes.
By about chapter 150-200 I would say the quality is were it should of a quality author.
The only thing I would like that would make this a full 5 starts is if the author would rewrite the early chapters. The most notable thing is the early chapters "tells" were the laters chapters "show", a big difference in story telling which has a huge impact and the readers ability to perceive and connect with what is happening.
Overall great story and I can really see this turning into something remarkable. As a final point, if the author wanted to chuck more alternate pov chapters in these would be helpful just to flesh out the world and give an insight into the "normal" way of things.

The writing style isn't the most detailed. But the flip side is: The author doesn't drag things out unnecessarily. Which I appreciate. A LOT.
The main character actually trusts people with some secrets and he has the wherewithal and discretion to share some secrets that need to be shared and only hold back what could cause trouble.
No manufactured or forced drama. It's a refreshing and natural flow of events, that actually still keeps you engaged.
There are no infuriating misunderstandings because someone is feeling entitled to information that They aren't actually entitled to.
The main character had the common sense to tell people close to him that he DOES have secrets, but he isn't comfortable sharing this secrets.
And in return, those side characters ACTUALLY RESPECT HIS RIGHT TO PRIVACY. they respect his right to keep his secrets and don't get bu**hurt over it.

Chapter 13….this is a chapter that ruins novels. I am also a person that is not a fan of haphazardly mowing down everyone you see, but this is indirectly causing future harm down the road.
To keep it short, the MC who already decided to try and keep his talent secret is ambushed by bandits. These bandits were going to sell him into slavery. Bandits tell him a sob story that he has no idea if it’s true or not, and he lets them go.
The author makes the awkward excuse that they don’t like when someone who doesn’t have experience “killing humans” automatically does it. To which I laugh at. There is a first time for everyone, and if you wanted to go down the awfully boring route of killing and then crying about it for 100 chapters, that was possible. Also, he’s able to slaughter everything that’s not a human with no second guesses? So I guess he’s just amazing at genocide when it comes to different species or what?
Bandits are a disease, it doesn’t really matter how or why they became bandits because they are willingly harming people that have done nothing to deserve such atrocities. If you want to be a good bandit, how about you target slavers?
I have since edited it…because I don’t think the overall novel is worth half a star…but that poor guard’s family is now missing a son, brother, or father.
Chapter 65….kind of made me cringe a bit. Lo and a behold, a male can only ever think of one thing I guess. I guess it’s good it worked out because showing sex scenes to a person trying to kill you is pretty disgusting behavior eh.

I almost didn't want to write a review for something I felt was around 3.5 stars but seeing the only other review was quite a bit lower I figured I should give my opinion.
It has a fantastic setup and the worldbuilding so far is decent. It has characters that I like and the motives are well thought out.
I do worry that he will get too powerful too soon but that is somewhat common in these types of stories so I hope the author will be careful with this.
My one major complaint is that it feels like a summary. I can't put my finger on it as it doesn't appear to be an issue of telling versus showing but like it feels like for what happens that another author would have maybe 5x as much writing or possibly more.
I'd say a good example is when he goes to kill the goblin shaman. This whole quest takes 1 chapter start to finish including travel time.
The chapters are also on the shorter end which makes it seem that much faster.
I guess a lesser minor complaint is that we don't really have any idea on quest details.  I haven't seen a lit that has quests which didn't give the details of the quests.
Overall it is a decently written story but feels lacking in information.

After a reread and finishing the available chapters, I've decided to give it 3.5 stars. It's decent, but it still doesn't have much of a hook. The problems with tenses and dialogue aren't prominent in the later chapters (and the ones in the earlier chapters have been fixed), though there still are a few of them.
The main problem I think, is that it there isn't a tangible goal here? I don't really know how to explain it. The MC has a reason for doing what he does– he wants to help people. It's mentioned early on. I just... it feels like he's gaining power for the sake of gaining power here. I think there was an implied reason in which he wants to be powerful enough to help people and be powerful enough so he doesn't need to hide his status, but the former is barely implied and the latter even more vaguely.
To reiterate, neither of those are bad reasons for doing what he's doing. It just feels like he's out there adventuring because that's what these protagonists are supposed to do.
