Description
This is a xianxia novel written for people who have read a lot from this genre and are currently tired of the same-ish progression methods and cliche plotlines. Tropes like cultivating to beat bad guys and bewitching baddies are wholly absent from this novel. The premise is simple;
How would the story progress if the protagonist has no plot armor, but almost everyone else does?

- A fruit juice enjoyerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story's MC uses common tropes to his advantage to traverse the cultivation world which is breath of fresh air for me. I also like the dynamic the MC has with the supporting cast as its refreshing to see a cultivation MC actually use his head for once. The MC overcoming his struggles also makes me enjoy the story as usually in other stories if the MC has a cultivation defect its solved in the first few chapters and doesn't matter for the rest of the story while in this story its a problem the MC is facing and still dealing with
- SectUncleBaiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After becoming essentially up to date on this novel i figured I'd give it a review.
First of all, the protagonist, Han Xuhan, is very interesting. He feels almost like a mix between Meng Hao and Bai Xiaochun personality wise; fun and shameless. His excessive desire for a golden thigh is realistic and consistent with his character and the novel as a whole, giving him a unique personality which is rarely seen in the genre. That being said, I am not the biggest fan of Xuhan's cultivation technique (although that may largely be due to its over saturated prevalence in the Korean novel space), but can appreciate the variety the newfound personalities add to the overall theme of the story: it heavily reminds me of lord fifth.
The worldbuilding, is once again very solid. Although a lot of higher order characters, realms and topics are explored and mentioned relatively early on, I don't think it takes away from the experience. Instead offering a pervasive degree of mystery to the story which is waiting to be unraveled.
Where this novel truly shines is the scheming and 'intelligence' of the cast. Everyone has secrets and plans beneath the surface and this was brought to the forefront of the novel at the end of volume 2, which was by far my favourite part of the novel so far.
Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this story a go, I think anyone remotely intrigued by the genre will find it thoroughly enjoyable. Also, author, I can't wait to see what you have planned for volume 3, thanks for writing such a great novel. - XerfrexRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A fun series, following a reincarnated guy in a cultivation world who quickly realises he is most definitely not that guy and immediately begins using his knowledge of tropes to cling into the nearest protagonist.
Han Xuhan is both witty and shameless, making every scenario he's in entertaining enough to read.
There also seem to be larger going ons, far above Xuhan's level that really help sell the scale of the world beyond the lowest realm, smallest country etc etc that is the cultivation start zone.
Overall, a solid story that I can confidently recommend - anapRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So as the title says this is a rewrite of one of this authors works
So to start with our mc, he's shameless and greedy, and also very smart, he knows how to manipulate the people around him.
He also possesses a 'heaven defying physique' lmao
As for the other characters they're fun, and the interaction are fun to watch.
Settings good, and his writing is also good, very rarely will he ever have a Grammer mistake.
Also if you see this writer, you really should chill, going to hard to quick can make you burn out lel - Ao VerusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ashes of Heaven is one of the better cultivation novel, it is refreshing read, there are no cliche cultivation troupes which many novels follows and the interaction between its multiple leads are refreshing, the world and its protagonist still keeps a sense of mystery honestly waiting for author to unravel it.
- Cremator3443Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book subverts your expectations of Xainxia tropes. The schemes, the twists, the overall planning and thought put in by the author. Every time you try to predict, it throws you a haymaker. A great time.
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah - DrunkenScholarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A comedic masterpiece that is as chaotic and fun as you'd imagine an earthling well versed in the dao of meta to be when randomly transmigrated without a cheat and all braincells intact.Schemes under schemes, characters so unique yet real, subverting tropes and showing an angle never before explored in this genre.
I had fun all the way with the eccentric characters and their shenanigans, hiding beneath a layer of mystery.Worlbuilding that draws you into the murky waters of the world and our protag-certified politician swimming desperately to find a footing in this world or become a shark himself.I encourage you to read this story if youre fed up with the usual cultivation bs and looking for something new. - FluffyserpentRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A random boy is awakened by his memories of his past life who happens to be someone from our world.
Now he finds himself in a world of cultivators who are used to "people with a halo" (aka protagonists, heroines, villains) and know how to identify them and deal with them (either by exterminating them or profiting from them) ,where everyone knows how to think (I know crazy in a xianxia) and arrogant young masters are a dying breed and to top it off, with barely the talent needed to cultivate and no gimmick.
A masterpiece that doesn't get enough attention and one that I would gladly buy.
The story is good
the characters are three dimensional
the comedy is good without being over the top (or thrown in at bad times)
it's not a power trip (in fact the protagonist is pretty weak, weaker than average even if he uses wit, real wit even though he still makes mistakes)
currently has no romance and no signs of including it in the short or medium term.
Overall a great work that has not only maintained but improved its quality over 300 chapters.
To future readers I recommend waiting at least until around chapter 30 before deciding to drop it. - KashishishiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hidden Gem. I really enjoyed it. MC is pretty cunning but in a positive way, he's often outclassed in technique but rarely outwitted. The side character all have depth, old masters act like you would expect someone to act whos millenia old. This isnt your typical "Faceslapping" story. You should really read it, this story deserves 5 stars !!
- Lord PongRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Do you like comedy? Do you like smart cookies? Do you like minion antics? Do you like entertaining schemes?
Well then this is the novel for you! Our MC is not a heaven blessed dark horse though he is surrounded by them. Read along as he plots, cheats and takes advantage of any opportunities to get ahead. Sometimes his schemes do not work and he has to scramble through to make the best out of his hand..that is what makes this entertaining, there's no protagonists halo around him to magically do away with his tribulations. So what he does is he borrows the halo of the ones around him, which leads to amusing interactions.
