Description
Hi everyone, really, really sorry for disappearing on you guys, illness lead to a deep depressive episode that I'm still struggling with.
Been thinking about coming back to revamp/finish writing Artisan and noticed a kind reader pointing out my work has been stolen and published on Amazon.
The offending novel is The Artisan by Jon Moremont - obviously a GoT fan who didn't even read the blurb properly and put a wizard on the cover.
Just wanted to let everyone know that this book has nothing to do with me, and has no new content.
Thanks, and sorry again - LF
Superhero LitrpgSkills, level-ups, powers, crafting, and base-building.
Releasing a chaplet daily, ~1,200 words.
It is 2054 and unemployment is at an all-time high. In the era of the quantum computer, autonomous systems have taken over as the backbone of the workforce. Justin, 20 years old and unemployed, has nothing holding him back, and since his government stipend will cover the expense, he signs up to play Imagitech's brand new game: A Time of Heroes.
Justin has never been that into multiplayer games, but for a full-immersion virtual reality where he can play a Superhero, Justin is definitely in.
'Superheroes and Villains are on the rise in an alternate America of 2020. Forces of good and evil must band together to control the future'.
Justin plays Artisan, an alien AI trapped on Earth.Inventor, hacker, and gadgeteer to a team of heroes.
Hope you enjoy.

Overall: There are only were few stories that are good enough that I read more than the first few chapters. This is on of them. nuff said.
Style: Not exactly what I personally would have used, but nevertheless worth five stars.
Story: Really like the story so far. The only thing I have to critisize is the pacing. The story starts slow-ish with an introduction to the basic concepts and mechanics and a highly disorientated MC that struggeles to survive. There are few interactions with the outside environment, but they are deliberate and short, the real focuse is on him getting used to his powers. Then there is a shift, in a matter of a few chapters he has a working workshop, equipment and gets actively involved in fights. The story suddenly becomes way more action focused and faster paced. I really hope that once the first battles are over we will get back to him building his company and staying more undercover.
Grammar: I am impressed. This isn't even comparable to usual 5 grammar-star stories on RR. And the few mistakes that get into the chapters are usually quickly corrected.
Characters: We haven't heared much about most of them, but so far they are quite good. I only gave 4.5 stars because it feels like there is a break in Artisan's character. At first he is extremly concerned about staying under the radar and only manipulating others into doing his dirty work for him and a few chapters later he actively starts a hero team and takes part in battles. I would have expected (and prefered) if he instead interacted with the team through a proxy (Division maybe?) and left them in the dark about his existence and abilities at first. Especially letting Shift figure out his identity was a big no go for me.
I am also wondering why he insists on being a shining white guardian. From what we have heared about him so far I expected him to at least seriously consider to be an anti-hero villain/vigilante, bending the law for the greater good.
Blueb - BatcardRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Like the hero series and this is one of the better I have read. Hope it starts up again soon! MC chose an AI race and has a background I can't wait to find out more about. It is a great read. Has some stats but less than you think.
- BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What more is there to desire? This here tells the story of somebody enjoying their life in a supower-hero VR simulation, having the time of their live as they gather teammates and take the battle to those who have done wrong. It's a great read, and I really do support anybody who wishes to take a gander at it.
It's all just that great. 5/5 from me. Wish I could give it more. - lsmithmierRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love the character development and take on the AIs. The game would be run to play and the plot arcs are nicely done. The team dynamics are fun and I like the way the different players embody their characters and double down on their idiosyncrasies. Super heroes and not so super heroes, with well developed villians.
- mythloving99Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Though the extra Style, Grammar, Story, and Character scores can be kinda confusing, I believe this story truly deserves 5 stars for all of them. The pacing is good, the characters have depth, even the ones that are only introduced briefly, no grammar mistakes that make me stop and think the author is an idiot, which is all you can ask for on RoyalRoad. And the story is fantastic. It is setup so that it can go anywhere, and the content is interesting and engaging. Will be reading as long as the author keeps posting.
- whyareuhereRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Simply beautiful - the amount of work put in each chapter truly represents how much knowledge the writer already had on the subject. It presumably takes a large amount of time to research on the background knowlege put into it. It even delves into problems such as politics, organizational subterfuge, and economcis as a whole. I wish that there was more to read right now... Anyway, sell this on Amazon, and it'll be a great hit.
- ivoSFRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5it is very nice.
a simple review:
a super hero rpg story, not seen that before, so that is a plus.
many refreshing parts, but also a bit of the cliché part of super heroes, you know they win so far rather easy, not that that is bad per se. - He-That-HungersRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This was a good story and even two years later i hope that you will return
- HumblevagrantRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5so far i love this story. The main character is cool and his supporting cast is multi-dimensional, which adds a lot of depth to the story. the pace of progression is good to.
my only complaint isn't really even a complaint and its that i want more. give me more!
please come back i miss you. - boogelyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A surprisingly good example of the genre.
The characters are well founded and have room to grow as people and aren't shoehorned into stereotypical archetypes.
I am really looking forward to what the author will be doing with this story.
