Description

The end came and went for humanity of old. An uncontrollable spark that quickly raged out of control. Tacet was there to see it. He lived and fought through it all, and in the process he lost all of his friends and suffered greatly. As the Great End came he closed his eyes, never expecting to wake up again, not even desiring to.

Untold years pass, and he is awakened to his surprise in a world he could not recognise anymore. The last true human emerged to explore the plagued world of Terra. To find new purpose in a world dominated by the once emergent races that he fought. With this new world he came to realise of a great conflict within himself.

The wolf type mutant race that he fought now evolved to what humanity failed to achieve. Stable human-animal hybrids. He met for the first time the refined race now known as lupos. His enemy of old now turned into graceful creatures that brought great strife within him.

How will he reconcile his feelings in the face of the reckless and deadly lupo's of Rhodes Island?

I include my shock in the title of my review not as a slight against the author, or fanfiction, or anything like that. Rather, as an invitation to give this story a chance; to not judge a book by its cover. And in this case, the "cover" also stands for the formatting... I implore you to try reading chapter 2 (it is mostly a flashback) to get a taste for what this story can offer. I hope you don't find it impossible to digest, and can see what I saw in it.
Overall: There I was, in the early evening, full from a recent meal and slightly bored after a full day. None of the stories I was following had an update, so I clicked "Surprise Me!" under the Read tab a few times until I spotted... Projekt Red? An Arknights fanfic... and from the summary a Lupo based one. Well then, I'd found a writer of culture! With no real expectations, I opened up the first chapter and was met with a... gruesome sight. Nearly nonexistent paragraph spacing, difficult to parse dialogue, you'll see when you see it. Still, some part of me had a feeling, perhaps I subconsciously comprehended the text before I started to read. Whatever the case, I decided to try and push through it and... having finished, I can say it was absolutely worth it. This is a legitimately good story. Imperfect, of course, but captures the tone and themes of Arknights beautifully. If you like Arknights, if you like the wolf girls of Rhodes Island, you'll probably like this.
Grammar (In Desperate Need of an Editor): A highly intellectualized understanding of English grammar, with very little intuition guiding sentence structure and breaks. This gives me the impression that English is not the author's native tongue. However, and this is very important, it is fundamentally correct. Still, there are sentences where the distance between what is technically valid structure and what should actually have been written is so great as to be difficult to read, but mostly it just comes off as kind of choppy with too many periods and no
