Description
IN PROGRESS OF BEING REMASTERED. FIRST RELEASE ON 30DEC2024.
IN THE NAME OF THE ARCHITECTS.
Earth remains a world of the greatest warriors and minds. She had given birth to life bringers and chaos creators. A product of both, Mike Randall, the average man amongst a world of incredible technology. Forged by the European African wars, he is tasked with one final mission to eliminate those that wish destabilization and the overthrow of the Pakistani government. New objectives, new missions. A man out of time, what more could ask for when everything goes awry, and he is standing before the arbiter of all of life?
Princess Lecca-Maradel Emma Arish: the link of reality. Once the messenger of truth, the harbinger of peace between nations, her responsibilities of her line of succession were striped, and her power diminished. Yondel's thirst for expansion stretches far beyond the frontiers, and now with allies distancing themselves, and her people hunger for change, an age-old foe threatens to resurrect as she is placed in command of men not of her own blood.

- IllthylianRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It is abundantly clear how much love the author has for military procedures, terminology and general atmosphere. Terms are well researched and properly used, the tone of the story maintains a consistent air of professionalism, and while it can come off as a bit dry here and there, I'd take a dry-but-realistic story over a rich-but-nonsensical one any day of the week.
I didn't find almost any grammatical errors, the level of polish of this story is really quite impressive from the usual stories on Royal Road and it's clear the author made sure to review and re-review his submission before hitting enter. Pleasant to see, and made it so I almost never had to re-read a section and question if something sounded right.
The story and characters are where things are really at their most interesting. I was very confused why this story, this 'chapter' of it at least, was less than 14 chapters long, and how some of the tags actually applied. Frankly up until the last chapter or two, the only fantastical/fantasy element I could really find, despite it being set in 2100-something, was the belief America would even still be around as a world-power. There isn't any superpowered technology or massive leaps in military tactics, mostly seeming because the author simply wanted/needed a conflict sometime in the future with modern-day weapons and ideas, so the date isn't especially important. When those fantasy elements and the actual surprise twist of the story is sprung upon you right at the end, it absolutely yanks you hard and pulls you towards the next chapter as you realize exactly what was being set up, and where the story is headed next. The idea of modern-day militaries fighting in a fantasy, medieval situation is the premise of one of my favorite works of fiction and something rarely seen even with all the isekai/portal fantasies we get on Royal Road, so I was both surprised and incredibly pleased when it blindsided me out of nowhere.
Definitely give this one your atten - GrassglassRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Start was on the longer side, I wish the enviornments and characters were more explained more before the events started as it was a little confusing as the action unfolds. Little spelling and grammer mistakes. I wish there were less chapters but longer instead of relesing smaller but more chapers because to me it seams like some chapters could have been combined and it would have made sense.
Exited for more!
