Description
Life can be terrifying, wonderful or horrible things can happen at the drop of a hat. On rare occasions, horrible things can lead directly to wonderful things. Evan Ebonhart struggled, he fought and clawed tooth and nail, and just like his mother taught him he did it all with a smile. Never letting anyone see how things affected him. This is his story, a story about some of the terrible things that happened to him, that led to the greatest and most terrifying discovery of his life. With his lifelong friends beside him, they set themselves on a brave course that might very well shatter the very foundations of their society so that they may build it anew, stronger and more wholesome.

- tarakisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is very well written, grammar and style are very good. The story suspends disbelief well and the characters are all believable and have good depth to them. This is a good Sci-Fi story, Indeed!!! Oddmar is doing good and hopefully will continue doing so.
Update: 11/22/19 I have finished reading this and I want Moar!!!!! This is a Sci-Fi story I can get behind and PUSH! The plot is excellent, The characters are well thought out. The summary I get is to Help Improve Humanity (Hand Up NOT Hand Out) and Protect them. It is a Superb Story.
:D CHEERS (c) - NexMortiferRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very pleased so far, I think I'll be adding this to my "check for updates daily" list.
Edit: So I said I'd update this when chapter 20 came out, but then chapter 21 came out and...wow. I'm rather more invested in these characters than I intended to be.
I'm happy to say that the characters are quite multifaceted rather than being cardboard cutouts, and while not everything is going smoothly, the difficulties they encounter make sense rather than being contrived. None of that wuxia style villain randomly popping up stuff that can be funny in comedy, but just annoying everywhere else. - Wise old penguinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is rather unique (at least for now). There's a lot of places the author can take it without borrowing from other authors sources of inspiration.
The characters are a fair bit above average from the very beginning, which I dislike. It's hard to empathize with a smart character that makes stupid mistakes. One such case is when the MC decides to fight his bully from HS instead of acting like a responsible adult. We get a set of companions for the main character and they're all a fair bit above average. A Masters degree does not mean that you have extreme competence in the large array of fields you'd need to accomplish what the team did. I understand that you needed to do that for the plot to work, still annoying tho. The characters are all introduced almost at the same time, might not be a good idea if you want to make them memorable from the very start, but I assume he'll flesh them out later. I personally think it would've been better if you'd had an average joe as MC, but that's just my opinion. Now you have to do a lot of physics research to write this story.
Grammar is flawless.
The aliens are assholes, great. - TempestbringerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story starts out and continues great. I must admit that I am so hooked to the characters and wish the author would continue writing, as of my review, it has been about a month since the last chapter which is quite sad.
My only negative comment about the whole series is the pacing. It is similar to what you would expect in some Korean novels. Everything is fleshed out great but suddenly in one chapter, everything is messed up and the story moves several arcs forward per se.
Overall a great sci-fi novel to read. - Avery LightRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Review, here we go! Apologies in advance for my grammar.
Great story, about 4 friends using the alien tech they found to make a gaming company and protect the world from undesirables space dwellers! Solid score!
Until this review (chap 20) they haven't gone out of the solar system yet thus still much room to grow and expand the story but the author kept things interesting on Earth's side before the kick-off to space.
Style and grammar? No complaints from me, smooth as a baby's bottom.
Story? The stars will speak for themselves.
Character? The 4 friends have their own personas, it's great and develop nicely as the story progresses.
Keep up the good work author, the star wars better be living up to the expectations (pun intended). - BookdudeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a good start to your novel maybe flesh out more of how man support ships and stuff are around to keep up with resources. But one Lisa could make several manufacturing bases on Mars every year and that goes exponentially.
- Chaos_is_HarmonyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall Impressions:
Good at what it seems to be going for, but will not stick with me (for reasons of personal preference and not having anything to do with the quality of the work). If you're interested in some light-hearted fun (except for a curveball around chapter 7), then you should give this a read.
Style:
Easy to read and follow. Polished, but otherwise unremarkable (too generic to be memorable). The one thing that sticks out as a negative are the lengthy bits of dialogue (paragraphs long often enough to wear on you); at times, this disrupts the flow of the conversation.
Story:
Chapter 7 legit threw me for a loop (in a good way). It provided dimension to an otherwise flat character. I think the two chapters that followed felt much powerful as a result, saving the story from being just another stereotypical 'power fantasy' (kids, all geniuses in their respective fields, suddenly get access to advanced alien tech). Were it not for Chap. 7, it would be much more forgettable.
Even still, I doubt the plot will stay with me long. Yet, as far as entertainment goes, this is a solid and fast-paced piece.
Grammar:
No complaints.
Character:
Nothing particularly novel here. However, there are two strengths I think worth mentioning:
1.) The group dynamic among the main characters is believable and well-written.
2.) The MC's transformation from a stereotypical caricature I cared nothing for to a multifaceted individual who I'm cheering on was fascinating. I certainly didn't expect that to happen. - TelRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Good story, maybe even a great story if the author takes the time.
But it's currently sort of a fast shallow story very much on the fluffy anime side of science fiction. Current chap philosophy questions.
Sort of a genera peice it's good but not exactly unique. The pacing is fast enough to carry a fluffy story, but it aches for a slower pace with more structure.
Worth reading if for no other reasons than it's well written fun, and the author gave themselves a nice hard plot break point beyond which they can change everything and be utterly forgiven that everything before that was fast and loose.
