The Arcane Chef is an awesome first book in the LitRPG genre and I was pretty much enthralled from page one. The characters the story revolves around are well thought out and marvellously portrayed by the author. The pace of the story is excellent and there is an immersive world building and a well balanced system of stats and skills which I was able to understand. The dialogue feels natural and the story develops amazingly and I hope to finish the rest of the book very soon.

Cooking and fantasy LitRPG. If you like both of those topics, you won't be able to put this one down. Culinary skills that grow in interesting ways, exciting new characters with every step of the journey, and a young clueless kid who is learning everything as he goes. I highly recommend this read

I just love the Story following Trevor as he slowly discovers the amazing things The Arcane Chef can do with a great cast and the number one Companion. go Crisplet! And no I will Not tell you more but seriously if you like magic and cooking this is definitely the book for you. So if you are reading this you are now required to read this book or a shadow cat might just take you in your sleep.

It's as good as Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree. Sure there's a few quibbles. But it is the sort of good quality writing anyone should hope to see. I have seen more well established and published authors writing crap and even Tictok authors writing far worse. And somehow they get published in paper. Already talked to the author. Keep kicking ass.
(FWIW: I edit other authors books on the subject of Armored Vehicles/Tanks for the fun of it.)

All young Trevor wants is to become a swordsman - instead he becomes a cook. When Trevor gets the Arcane Chef class instead of becoming a swordsman, he is disappointed but struggles to make the best of the situation. As it turns out, his cooking skill leads to the type of adventures he vould never imagine, with great friends and epic encounters. It's hard to say more without spoilers - and there is plenty to spoil - other than to say this story is epically binge-worthy.
The story is a great blend of action, comedy and slice of life cooking. Well written and with good grammar, the story tends to vary in pace (deliberately) from fast paced action to slow cooking. Unlike many stories through this is well done; the action sections never feel rushed while the slice of life sections never seem to drag.
If you like stories with pacing similar to Beware of Chicken, this is the one for you.

I was sent this link by a friend who thought I might enjoy it......
To say they were correct is a ridiculous understatement.  I have spent an entire evening and 3 hours past my normal sleep time because I was unable to stop reading.  To be frank, I was a very avid reader but have not sat down to enjoy a book in almost 10 years.  I was quite hesitant to even try again after some life altering events and had never once read a book virtually or even knew this genre of writing existed.
I have invested most of a waking day into this book and my enjoyment is unquenched.  The writing style is easy and enjoyable to comprehend, even for someone like me with just a basic concept of how tabletop adventure rpgs function.  The character development doesnt feel forced and the reader might imagine themself in this world through the main characters eyes without straining or having to glean understanding while also not feeling like the descriptions are out of synch with the rest of the writing.  The development of the plot also doesnt feel akward like many first books of a series where authors tend to force a ton of characters and offshoots to provide notable references and hooks later in the series.  Every item is introduced and some quietly tucked away for potential future use in a rational way which leads me to look forward with excitement to see where the story will lead to in upcoming books.
Overall I rate this a 10/10 for seasoned readers as well as those who may only pick up a book once a decade.  This roped me in and tied me to my chair until i finished it and that kind of simple yet magnificent storytelling is making me quite upset that there arent more books ready for me to continue the journey.
Keep it up Srsli, you're doing great so far!

This story is not your classic LitRPG power fantasy, although it is still a power fantasy. In this series the power is achieved mostly due to connections and the special power of the main character Trevor is simply the vehicle that causes those connections. Even still this is not a battle series it is mostly just a cozy series with cute and funny moments. The main character was raised in a system that deliberately kept him ignorant and it shows, Trevor must learn what the real world is like but his unique abilites have already begun to warp what the real world is. While the main character is quite ignorant he is not allowed to remain this way, his companions and found family consistently teach him that his view is warped in one way or the other and guide him to proper understanding. While existing in a fantasy world does feature fantasy ingredients they still feature enough similarity to trigger the desire to try a similar real dish from time to time. This isnt the next Solo Leveling but if you enjoyed the calm, cozy, and funny atmosphere of the series Farming Life In Another World or more directly Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill this series is certainly worth a try.

I'm dropping the story because I got bored, but that's not a fault of the story itself. It does all the things it promises in the synopsis, and it's easy to follow. The main character is likable enough, and the cast is interesting. Cats are good. The author is doing a good job.

First off, this book makes me SO HUNGRY.Anyway. This book is what happens when you get a teenager who spent his life in a brainwashing school and accidentally breaks out of the system, only to find the world is a lot crueler than he'd ever been led to believe. Thankfully, there ARE still good people and he makes some wonderful friends along the way. Liane is a treasure. It's funny, it's heartwarming, it deals with the darkness inside humanity and a world that can be both cruel and kind. All while experimenting in the kitchen, usually of the makeshift variety. It's incredibly well written, I basically couldn't put it down after I started. Highly recommend.
