- SCARLET HELLSINGRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is a nice book but it would probably be a turn-off to some people because it is a little confusing in the beginning. But other than that it is a good book to read. Will definitely be keeping up with the updates. And since I have to get to 50 words I'll just be typing in all I can do.
- hatersmusthateRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The first chapter starts out really rough, but it seems that the writing style tends to follow the tone and feeling of wherever the plot or POV is at the moment. That, or the author just improved that much in the short space between chapters, which by itself is a wondrous thing to witness.
Quite quickly, a world is built up that is just rushed past, leaving that same world (and the reader!) behind to wonder what it was that came by.
From the get-go, confusion and (cultural) conflict happens as it should happen when different worlds mix together, and having some rational action happen to work on those things is a breath of fresh air in the stagnant stink of current isekai practice. Especially since it's not just about different times and laws of nature, but also about the cultural experience of different social classes.
If anyone knows of any other isekai(-like) stories that do cynical inversions on common tropes associated with it, please send them any way you can.
