Julian Thorne was just another gamer, hyped for the release of "Apocalypse," the revolutionary fully immersive VRMMO. But a freak accident throws him into the game worldbeforeits launch. The twist? He's not a player, but an NPC – though one with a very unusual player's interface. And there is more, he has a "Transmigration Simulator" that lets him live out lives in other fictional universes, gaining wild powers and skills.

While other NPCs are stuck in their pre-programmed routines, Julian's out there battling interdimensional horrors, romancing beautiful women, and becoming a literary genius, all thanks to his simulator. Now, as the clock ticks down to the game's launch, Julian finds himself in a world drastically different from the developers' original design. He's got powers that shouldn't exist, knowledge that breaks the game's lore, and a destiny intertwined with the unsuspecting players about to arrive. Will he be their guide, their adversary, or something else entirely?

TLDR: Very highly recommended. Not overbearingly 'boxy' like many LITRPGs. Interesting premise, and good foundation for a wonderful story.
The novel does remind you of The Legendary Mechanic, and in a very good way. I can highly recommend this, especially for those who enjoy watching a character make use of their prior knowledge of the world and future events.
Style: I have nothing bad to say about the style of writing. Flows well, no confusing perspective moments, and a wonderful balance between flowery language and to-the-point writing. The diary style writing of transmigrations is also something I've never seen before, and I love it. It doesn't make it dreary or too long, yet still gives out a lot of information and leave much of it for the reader to imagine.
Grammar: I noticed no grammatical errors in the 24 chapters that I read.
Story: 24 chapters, so still in the very early phases of the story. But it is building up to something quite interesting. Only reason I haven't given a full 5 stars is that the main character doesn't seem to have a goal apart from survival. Though I do very much expect this to change.
Character: This is the only one where I dropped a full star, as it is also, to me, the most important factor in a story. So far, in 24 chapters, we barely know anything about anyone really. Even the main character apart from having been good at the game, we don't know much. I would love to see some kind of moral dilemma in the story to push this forward, even if they are something minor to really start learning how the main character thinks.
As for other characters. There haven't been many. And the few that we have seen, have only gotten a handful of sentences here and there so they haven't gotten much opportunity to grow onto you. The descriptions of the characters are very good though.
Overall: I can highly recommend this. It has the foundation to be in the top stories on the site. It has a great pacing where it doesn't overly drag certain portions of th

Apocalypse: My NPC Life Before the Players Arrived is without a shadow of a doubt a hidden gem.
When I finished reading all the available chapters at the time of writing this I thought my keyboard broke instead of reaching the end of what I could read at this time, that is how absorbed I got in reading this. I recommend this story to all who enjoys LITRPG novels.

I first read this because it reminded me of legendary mechanic novel but slightly different which i like.
The plot does start differently so that's good so I do recommend at the moment that its a good book to read and the progression feels good.
the writing is pretty good since i have not double checked any words.
only 7 chapters are out when i wrote this so this can change but it looks promising
