Ant Among Dragons - The Zhang Liwei Chronicle
Community Rating
Description
Beneath the oppressive sky of the Azure Dragon Continent, where might reigns supreme and the weak are mere "ants," a spark of defiance ignites. Zhang Liwei, a cultivator born in the dust, refuses to accept his fate. Though branded with average talent, ambition burns in his heart, a dream to carve a haven for the downtrodden.
But the path to liberation is fraught with perilous thorns. Righteous sects with morality on their lips and greed in their hearts. Demonic cults openly flaunt their dark desires. And minor local powers cower before the strong while preying on the weak. In this cutthroat game of survival, Liwei's journey becomes a crucible, pushing him to the very edge.
Can a young cultivator with a heart larger than his talent topple this monstrous hierarchy? Will his haven be crushed before it blossoms, his dream branded a fool's folly? Or will Liwei rise as the dragon's defiant roar, a beacon of hope for the ostracized and exploited?
Join Zhang Liwei, the cultivator born of humble soil, as he embarks on a quest that could rewrite the Azure Dragon's destiny. Witness his struggles, his triumphs, and the battles that will test the very meaning of strength and justice.
This is not just a story of cultivation and power. It's a tale of defying the odds, of courage against oppression, and of the embers of hope that ignite even in the darkest corners.
Will Liwei find the haven he seeks? Will the Azure Dragon finally see a sky free from shadows? Dive into his story and find out.
Dear readers, welcome to my first (ever) novel!
I've devoured Wuxia and Xianxia for years, but this is my debut story.Expect some stumbles, but also a ton of passion and growth! Your kind feedback on each chapter would be amazing.
This story starts out gentle, taking its time to paint the world and introduce the characters and demystify the unique elements of Xianxia, ensuring a smooth journey for newcomers and veterans alike.
Remember those novels with a million characters whose names vanished the moment you turned the page? Not here.I'll drop reminders and descriptions, making sure everyone stays oriented.
I'll pour my heart into this story, and I can't wait to share it with you.
Let's dive into this world together!
Note :Expect my updates to arrive at a slower pace than you might be used to. My day job keeps me busy, but I'll do my best to publish new chapters regularly when I have the chance.

- TheAlfreds90Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is what I image a properly translated classic xianxia would be. The pacing is slow, the language is flowery, and something not often seen (at least so far) is the characters are lovely. I'll look to update that as I continue to read.
Though after reading quite a few MT novels this is like a breath of fresh air. This is the closest to what I've been searching for. - chaos_swan_king123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The way the author writes the story reminds me of ancient stories. It has a way of taking you back in time to a different world. And the way the mc has been developing is wonderful to read. He is the moon child that has just taken his first step. His ever developing character draws you in. The side characters aren't just for show either. They have their own life that blooms beautifully.
The pace is wonderful. It doesn't seem rushed or slow. It especially explores the path of cultivation wonderfully. It is in essence a cultivation of self and not power. Cultivation of self is what brings power and not the other way around.
I also like how it isn't tragic for the sake of being tragic. In fact it is quite the opposite. The interactions between different characters are wholesome if a little too mature at times. But that is what draws me in. The mc is a child who is too mature almost like a reincarnated person. However, it doesn't make me disconnect from the story. People in the past were always more mature even in irl.
It seems to be a typical cultivation story. And it is but the way a person's personal growth influences the growth in cultivation is especially well executed. Overall a great story. This novel has made me yearn for future chapters. I look forward to how this novel unfolds.
