Description
An unruly man ponders many things in the last moments of his unlucky demise. What asshole thought heaven and hell seemed like solid choices? Who elected god, was there a popular vote or epic bingo game? If he's reincarnated will he simply be a deer to be hunted down by some fat ass with a racist paint job on his truck? Will his exgirlfriend die in a fire proving there is justice? And lastly who planted this F#@&ing tree?!
What if the answer to all of the above is Yes? If the cycle of life and death is all just a game to the gods then he'll just have to win. Follow our not likely hero Nox as he takes the field against warriors and gods of myth and fable in the battle of several lifetimes, spanning ages, and dodging tropes like landmines.
Life 2: Howling Thunder, becoming the big bad wolf! The first book is complete and we're rolling right into the next!

i should probably read the first chapter
btw
first!!!!!!!! - TreyonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I hope that the story gets better, i too hope that nox can retain at least some of his memories when he reincarnates since if not then why bother? the story can start with him being born and getting freki interested in him and there would be no difference at all.
So forgetting his memories but retaining his knowledge is a start. - crasyone47Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0more please
You left off before and I want to know what happens next
Sorry I am a bit crazy for your story
Crazy Crazy Crazy
Also are you looking for a beta reader - PikaninjaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Though I am sad about 'Howling Thunder' I do hope that you spend some more time revising your work (story boarding, archetypes, plot holes, figurative language, allusions, and anything else you can use) because I don't mind waiting for longer periods of time for the story to be released for public viewing. You can use the extra time to your own discretion even if that requires we wait months or even years. My advice for any story is keep things 'simple' no matter how much detail there is weaved into it the readers must be able to connect to the story without too much effort. Making a story appear 'simple' is necessary but difficult. Keep us posted on delays and information on one chapter post that gets longer and longer as you edit it.

- NoloRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Hello, this is the first time I make a review, and I don’t know how this will turn out but I’ll try my best.
To begin with Animus Storm is the rewrite of Howling Thunder, a normal reincarnation story where our MC get’s to live a new life in a new world, but what, in my oppininon, set Howling Thunder apart, and still does in Animus Storm, are the characters. While it might be true that reincarnation stories where the MC is chosen by some god and has to fulfill some destiny and what not are abundant, Animus Storm does this with a cast of characters that in my oppinion feel real, for now they are children and they DO act like children, fighting, playing and pranking each other but they also behave like animals because they are beast-kin, with the three siblings being a hunter who chases and pounces on people, a lone wolf that does his thing while bothering people for his own amusement and a pack leader that hits other kids into obidience to prove dominance.
Those who say that the MC is a whimp for reciving a hit from his sister with this context just don’t want to see the facts.
I can’t talk about the future of this series as it has already diverged greatly from the original while still retaining some key elements like some characters and their abilities and realationships but from what I’ve read I can say that there is a bright future for Animus Storm if it continues like this and that while there might be similarities between this and Howling Thunder, Animus Storm it’s it’s own story, and a really good one at that. - WolfsnowRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5EDIT: I haven't reread earlier chapters, but author is putting in quite a bit of work proofreading now (past ch.20) and grammar/sentence structure has improved a lot! Grammar bumped to 4.5. overall 4.5
First let me explain the title a little bit. This story is based on the original story Howling Thunder, which the author decided to reboot into this story with Howling Thunder being the first arc of Animus Storm. It's taken 20 chapters to have gotten to where Howling Thunder was at chapter 10, and while you may think that's because the story has expanded more on story and characters it's the opposite. Chapter length per chapter has gone down dramatically, and the characters motives and emotions are a lot more obscure as we spend very little time covering them. Vulpi/the mother in the original felt very well developed, and had a personality outside the mother of the cubs, whereas now the reader barely knows anything about her. Anyways moving onto the the actual 4 criteria I'll give the rating of this matches the advanced review, but in comparison to Howling Thunder will have its own next to it.
Style: I've never been a huge judge on style, and the author stays pretty consistent here. POV's aren't confusing and paragraphs are given enough spacing so that you don't get lost in the reading. I would rate both of the stories similar here with a 4.5 per RRL as it's good, but it's no masterpiece.
Grammar: It's been awhile since I've really read Howling Thunder so I could be remembering this part wrong, but I believe the author spent quite a bit more time proofreading his previous work. There are spelling mistakes galore in this novel, but not enough to really harm your reading overall. Enough to lower score to a 3.5/5 though. I would say the original was at least 4.5 if memory serves correctly.
Story: Story actually runs very similar to the original, although some things change up. Lupa isn't introduced until chapter 20 this time around, and Patra/one of the twins is promise - Fenrir707Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5love it, keep going. please, pretty please please please
