ANIMA ADRIFT: An old soul, a new journey

Self-Published

Description

An old soul starts yet another journey. This time, however, things don't quite seem to be the same anymore...

He’s been around pretty much since forever. Literally.

He had thought the cycle would last until the end of times.

It didn’t.

Now, he must face a new world he knows nothing of. A world full of wonders and terrifying mysteries, beyond the grasp of mortals. Fortunately, there happens to be some implausible magicks to help him along the way. Unfortunately, it seems like he can't quite get the hang of them...

This is a soft litrpg/Game-lit story!

Please mind the tags!

The main character is no amoral monster, but he definitely leans closer to chaotic-neutral rather than good, i.e.if you're not okay with a selfish MC, the story might not be up to your liking.

While it's certainly not the main focus, there may occasionally be mentions of abuse, torture, rape, gore in general, etc.

So I read the original story which was already written well and I really liked that, now it's even better. The story is about an old soul who has likely lived hundreds of lives and reincarnated again oustide of Earth.
The way the mc talks and acts is defintely consistent with how I would picture an old being to be like. He thinks things through and isn't one of those annoyingly dumb characters who should be smart. One of the best things the author adds is references to his previous lives. Idk if the author literally planned a thousand years of lives or something, but defintely a great deal of work has been done in his characterization.
We don't really know much about the world yet, but all the characters have personality to them and have their own goals.
The mc is also not op (well not yet atleast) and uses his brain to figure stuff out.
Overall, you should defintely read this if you are looking for a reincarnation story with a knowledgeable protagonist and an intriguing world with much to uncover.

Man, I've been waiting for this story to return, it was one of my favourites, and I was sorry to see it o on hiatus.
Now, I'm not the greatest reviewer, but this story deserves a good one; it's a wonderfully exciting take on the Isekai fantasy subgenre, the characters are set up to be interesting, the setting is creative and has excellent takes on folklore and spiritualism.
    Generally, it's great; read it.

Overall, the story tickles the part of my brain that makes me happy! It is extremely well written, utilizing a much more vast vocabulary than most stories of this ilk. The grammar is superb and the characters fit very well. I am truly excited to see how this story unfolds and I excitedly await the escapes from reality these chapters bring me!

Idfk but I'm hyped! Give me moar!
Ty mr goat-san sir for not dying/coming back from the grave. I hope that you can become as coxkroach likenand unkillable as I remember the mc was. I love the story keep up the good work!
We readers are also enslaved by the system that wants us to go along with the matrix.

Ok, first off: this is pretty mouch a copy paste from my review of the previous iteration of the story. I will be updaying it as the new plot goes on but so far it has given me about the same epic vibes
Style: No changes here still 1st person pov that the author manages to pull off damn well. It goes for a strange mix of crass and fancy. I'm not sure how or why but it works for me and it simply flows well. Tbh the outcome is both refreshing and hilarious from time to time.
Story: It's a relatively fresh take on the isekai-reincarnation trope. Our guy finds himself as a baby in a magic/litrpg world (even if the litrpg elements havent had that much impact so far) but there is a twist: the guy had reincarnated multiple times on earth and he remembers his previous lives. We will se what happens later.
Grammar: seems good to me. Maybe a typo here and there but Im not native so take it with a grain of salt.
Characters: I just love the mc and the rewrite hasn't changed that. He SO well characterized! Sometimes he sounds like an intetionally cranky old grandpa, sometimes he sounds really childish. Overall you get the feeling he's at least somewhat insane and carries a lot of baggage but just tries to live in the moment, having fun where he can. The guy still gives me the jack sparrow/deadpool kind of vibes after the rewrite and the banter with "the witch" even seems to have been taken up a notch or too, o all the better!

Awesome story so far. The plot is well done and the comedy is just right. The magic system is pretty cool as well. The story seems to meander sometimes,  but  think that's intentional since it's told from first person perspective and this is how the MC's thought process goes.
Overall, I have high hopes for this story and can't wait for more chapters.

The story values your time. Descriptions are just enough to get a good idea of what is going on then lets you fill in the details with your imagination.
The MC's mind often wanders, but this is fitting for the character. I have never seen something I felt was an info dump and most actions makes sense with what information each character has access to.
I just love the concept and characters deliver on what I imagined and hoped for from the title and summary.
First time I've reviewed something and this story prompted me to make an account just to follow it. Meets my weird taste in story. I hope this encourages others to check it out!

From the old one to this new rewrite This story only got better. A unique character that is not fazed by or rather takes everything in stride, the hilarious and lifelike dilogue delivery, the presence of a system unique to the mc but not to the others brings out the true joy in reading litrpg. For any fans of the genra Anima Adrift is a must read. Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews my dear author, as your story again climbed the rising stars'pedestal. The only reason the story vanished was due to some personal issues of the author, but now it is back and I for one await eagerly for the story to reach the same point where it was left. The story is such that it creates an expans of suspense and the world has somany hidden secrets that it denotes the presence of a larger amount of mysteries and legends that can be explored as the story progresses. It binds us with the deep curiosity of what will the nest set of power the mc will get. Keep up the good work and for all the readers there is only one thing to do READ THE STORY.

I quite liked it and was disappointed when I had no more left to read.
However, there are a few things that might turn people off:
-Its written in first person. Usually I'm not a fan, but this was well done.
-Its a little slow at the start.
-The main character is a rambling old man. A lot of his thoughts are part of the book and I think this can be tiring for some people.
However, after getting past the first few chapters, I got really into it. I think its executed very well.

this story is an interesting mix between game lit and reincarnation, the one to get reincarnated is not some nerdy fat dude who got hit by a truck, but a old man, who has been reincarnating  for thousand of years, his behavior seems consisten with his age, he is aloof and kinda of snarky, being someone who has seen it all, and after his latest reincarnation, he is quite surprised since it's not the earth anymore.
and probably will work to break his "curse".
he his not particuraly "op" , of couse since he is old, he come across as quite competent .
he is not  a d.mb f.ck , and goes around saying "i'm an old immortal etc" , so far only one knows, and i'm hoping it will stay like this.
the setting are pretty interesting , though we haven't been shown the world at large yet.
so far the only thing i could complain about is the lack of chapters.
