Description

Casimir Toomes has been pretty successful as an adventurer... until he wasn't. With his team shattered and the surviving members scattered to the four winds, he went back to his home country of Anima, and at his Master's behest, became a teacher at the Academy of High Magic.

Sure, his Master keeps bugging him to take on some personal students of his own, but he's not in this teaching gig for good, it's just a temporary thing, as a favor. There's absolutely no way he'll get attached to any of the brats.

Basicly the title of the review and the synopis should tell you all you need to know.  The world building is really strong. A fresh breath of air in a (partly) magic academy. The characters are lovely and you can enjoy the growth of his students, while we follow our main character dealing with ghosts from his past.
Go read it. It is great.

The style of the book was fantastic, everything flowed well and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, nothing much more to say.
the story is original and I haven't read a book like this before that that is also up to this standard, definately recommend this book to others. It follows the life of a retired adventurer settling down and instead teaching others at a magic school of sorts, while learning the intricacies of teaching students and slowly adapting and enjoying his new life style.
Grammar is impeccable, haven't noticed any errors yet.
The main character is masterfully crafted and you can tell he has many past experiences and now has lots of depth to his personality. The students themselves also have a lot of character and are easily differentiated with their own personalities and ambitions.
Overall definately recommend this book to others, very surprising this isn't more popular, perhaps you should add a cover to the book (by commission or through AI art if you have to) as it may attract more viewers and allow you to be legible for the up and rising section.
Apart form that I have nothing else to say so I'm just gonna repeat nothing so I can fulfill the 200 word minimum

Honestly, I like the 'jump right into scene' action we have here, kinda refreshing to be honest. The main character teaching makes it easy to explain the magic system, which seams to be amazingly well thought out. The MC being a former adverturer is a nice touch as well. Keep up the great work, this has potential!

An excellent work from the author - this is saga of Elite Adventurer Toomes as he takes up teaching students while taking a sabbatical from adventuring because of a disastrous previous mission. We watch as our man plans lessons, teach spells and take on troubles one after other with his personal students until he saves the world (oops) day with their epic adventure.
Solid plot, an excellent and amazing description of magic sytems ( pretty sure author is an isekai-d mage ) and great narrative style - half humor and full on action. Trust me when I say I was sad when part 1 ended, even more miffed when I learnt it will take time for part 2 to come out. Anyone who sees the review, what are you waiting for ? Go on a read the beginnig of an epic adventure.

A nice adventure story of an MC adventurer on teaching sabbitical after his party lost a big battle, a nicely explained magic system and steady story and worldbuilding.
Excellent grammar, spelling, but character tension or struggle doesnt come across even in the big fights. Might be that the MC is still the wise veteran but looking forward to seeing a challenge
Something to keep an eye on!

    Is the story complete?: YES
Did I drop the story?: YES
Is it hard to read?: NO
Did it do something to stand out?: YES
    Would I recommend it?: YES
    Thoughts:
Another complete story is a rare treat on this site, overall it's enjoyable but I ended up dropping it because again the lack of any real tension killed it. Our MC is already strong and unless you find yourself attached to his students there is never any point where you are worried about what may happen.

The author mentioned that didn't achieve what he was looking for here, and I can understand that.
This technical skills are good, but it's the story and the characters that suffer.
It's billed as more character-driven, but it really doesn't read like it. I (mostly) applaud the worldbuilding, but despite being someone who likes exposition far more than the average, it felt like there was too much. They're at a magical college, so perhaps that should be expected, but it felt like the author was so proud of the system that he built that he kept wanting to explain it more, even when the protagonist was rather flat and the students that he's supposed to be bonding with felt...hm. They had clearly distinct personalities, but I didn't feel close enough to them to really care about them.
The plot felt thin, then suddenly rushed. The students got too strong too fast, honestly, all things considered--the last three(?) fights felt like ones they should be barely surviving at best, but didn't play out that way at all. The protagonist studied one book about weather magic and suddenly started using it frequently and well? Too many exposition-flashbacks and too much talking during a number of the fights--the climactic battle especially was disappointing in this way. It felt hollow, in the end.
It wasn't a bad story, but it was somewhat disappointing. I like the author and his other works, so I am hopeful that there will be a sequel at some point, which will have less exposition needed.
