Low on supplies and on their way to the warfront, Captain Nubela Argrath is forced to raid a human settlement on the moon of Kalibash. Heavily outgunned, the human colonists have no choice but to surrender their supplies to the cruel and uncaring Flarian captain, thus being condemned to death from starvation.

Along with the supplies, the colonists bestow an unknowing gift on Nubela, turning the remainder of the crew's journey to the front into a nightmare that transcends what their weapons can kill and their reason comprehend.
