The story follows the journey of James Walter from a mortal to reaching the peak of power and the many trials and hardships faced by him to reach his goal.Note- This is a xianxia based story without psychopathic murderer/brainless Mc that we generally see in such novels as I find it very boring and clichéd. It is my take on the genre and I hope it will interest the readers to come back for more. The novel might contain mature content in future. More tags might also be added as the story progresses.The cover art has been done by MadelynBlack. She is a wonderful person and a fantastic artist. Good pacing, great characters. Nice take on the xianxia genre. I would however like to see some more character development from the first years, not just the top 3 (more specificly kayla) plus gus and the mc. Even if it is only a run-of-the-mill thug character or rich brat.

I read up to chapter 10, and couldn't go on. I usually love stories like this, but this one didn't do it for me. Almost every chapter is training or fighting. Any character interaction is about training or fighting. Most of the MC's interaction with the world around him is about training or fighting. While I do think that those two things are important in a story like this, I am not a fan of it being the sole focus. In my opinion, it became monotonous.

There is nothing interesting going on. Maybe i’m just too used to xianxia heated scenarios.
But there is no struggle. No real threat. No cases to solve. Or even obstacles to overcome. No apparent goal besides improving which is an obvious element of Martial Arts.Heck, the threat isn’t even real, it was just VR. And the rewards are too much for such little risk. No highborn aristocrat that bullies the weak or factions fighting for domination or even just cliques that want to distinguish themselves from the weak.
Mundane life isn’t suited for Martial Arts.
edit: The author is one of those authors who would ask for your suggestion and would laugh at your suggestion since that is not the way he wants his story to go. So if you dont want to be bothered, dont even bother to write a review
From my analysis, there wont be much character development, since the author thinks that they are too young for problems. He said that 12 year olds are not fit enough for trouble, they are not like 14-15 year olds.
The people are pretty "logical" too so there wont be selfish people in the story. I dont even know why there is a war in this story since there wont be any illogical people.
If you are looking for xianxia in modern setting, that actually has something interesting then this is not for you. 2star to 1 star.
